View 1 RepliesI have difficulties managing the following: I have a disk area (A minimap) and I want to add one (or two) small borders (that look bumpy) around the disk.
I basically want to achieve something like this: [URL]..... As you can see it has an outer border ring (with a very small line in the middle) and another inner ring. The outer ring drops a little shadow onto the inner ring.
I tried the following: Made a circle (with selection tool) -> Selection -> Shrink (3px) -> Filled with grayish color. Now I have a ring and I tried to apply various filters onto this ring to create a border (mainly decor -> border filter, but they all produced weird results).
I have a logo and I successfully removed the border. How do I now create a white border around the logo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to know how to create a border with just the top 2 corners rounded? I saw a video tutorial, but the instructions were not clear at all, and it also paid no attention to details like how to make the the corners the exact same size. I want to use it for my company's marketing emails, so the top 2 corners would be rounded while the bottom will align with my email page
(see att'd sample).
It seems that I have accidentally changed a setting but I don't know how to fix it. I am trying to create a circle with a thick edge/border,like this My link I am going to have text in the border. It worked fine as in previous pic but gimp wont let me do it anymore.
When I try to create a circle with wide edge now the shape completely changes to a diamond type shape My link It's not a circle anymore! I am guessing that I must have changed some setting but don't know how to fix it. I am using windows vista and gimp 2.8.4.I
I just wanna draw a white circle with a black outline(border).

I have put several drawings into the Publish> DWG>>> PDF mode.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing that has a white background.
I would like to add more to the white background to make it bigger without having to stretch it and distort the image.
I want to place a circle shaped outline border around the original image with a set border thickness and color and be able to crop/remove the portion of the image beyond the outline, changing it from a square/rectangle image to a circular image.
If I am not able to change the drawing to have a round outer border from square, how can I make the outer parts past the newly created circular outline transparent?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI create the designs on an art board that matches the screen size of whatever device I'm designing for, for instance 320x480px. The problem comes when I want to read the font sizes used in the design in order to apply them in the actual mobile app. Illustrator seems to use a strict 1px = 1pt rule. That means a 12pt font in Illustrator is always 12 pixels. This is however not true on the mobile device, which uses some other ratio. This means I have to "guess" the font sizes, trial-and-error style, which is ridiculous.
I've tried downsizing the art board, to something like 240x360 px, and then the font sizes do better represent those on the mobile device, but then all the graphics does not. So that's a no go.
Is there any way I can define in Illustrator the ratio between pixels and points? It seems Illustrator only supports a default 1 pixel = 1 point setting? (In Photoshop, for instance, this is not a problem as you can set the intended physical size of the document independently from the pixel grid. Any way to do this in Illustrator? Does Illustrator simply assume pixels is a physical unit, like inches and points?
I have seen many designs that include swirls and/or wavy lines. How to make them? I have attached an design example with the wavy lines.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to photoshop 7 from PS6. I want to make a simple circle. I use the elliptical marquee tool set at a constrained aspect ratio of 1:1. I've made a new layer. Now I'm trying to fill that circle in with the fill tool but it's filling in the entire background of the whole image. I've never had a problem with this before. Now PS7 wants me to do things differently.

I want to write my text inside two circles in GIMP. For this purpose, I have drawn two circles in GIMP with a gap between these two. Now I need to write my name in between these two..just like a round Rubber Stamp and I need to write something in the mid space of the two circles. Background should be white.
I have drawn the circle but I am not finding a way to write text in between the circumference of these two circles.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was working on a PDF and I successfully exported it back to PDF once, but there was more work that I needed to do to the PDF. When I changed what I wanted and saved again it gave me little boxes with cirlces in between numbers I had added in a text box. I tried to save it as a JPG and that worked. However, I need to save it as a PDF..
Also to clarify. This is what shows up on the exported PDF. This does NOT show up on an exported JPG or on the document when edited in GIMP.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHow can i get such effects like in the attached image;
- first of all; the image has no background - the grapes are shown on a plain white background.Note; there is another nice little thing that we have to mention; the image of the grapes are somewhat with a kind of a overdose of light - i think that this is a nice effect - perhaps added with gimp!? The grapes look very interesting.
- the next effect that i like is the adding of the circles that are seen in the image. How did they add those pastel colored circles.

Okay, I'm new to associative arrays, I'm attaching a drawing so you can see what I'm trying to accomplish with this. I'm doing an elevation view of a slab that has a cross section of the rebar. I've shown one of the bars spanning from left to right, represented by a rectangle, and the cross section of the bars running front to back represented by circles. You can see what I'm trying to show here. In the drawing I've attached, the top three sketches are examples of how this would look if it were working correctly.
What I'm trying to do is create an array (of circles) that will stretch to the length of the bar spanning left to right. I want the quantity of items in the array to automatically change based on the length of the bar and the spacing of items, so if there is 6" of spacing between the items instead of 12" it will automatically add twice the amount of items to fill in that space. I've been trying to use a path array, and it isn't working the way I want. I'm not familiar with rectangular arrays, so not sure what to do there either.
I'm trying to make a logo. Circular logo with an inner ring maybe 4 px wide and 15 px inside the rim of the outer circle.
Basically I want a blue circle with a yellow inside ring. What's the best way of doing this? The only thing i can think of is: creating a blue circle marquee, and then another (trying to estimate a new circle size and change the color) that is yellow, and then making another smaller blue circle inside the new one. That's just ugly.
I tried the edit/stroke but that just gave me a stroke around the outer circle; it didn't put a ring inside the circle 15 px down.
Also I tried to contract the original circle by selecting it, then Modify/contract. That's got me a selected ring, inside the circle. Now how in the world do I make that little ring yellow? It just remains selected and I can't seem to find a way to color it.
i attached a lsp with and excel
the lsp does creat circles with diameter of 5 related to imported points from excel
i realsed that it is able to get the first column but can get the coordinate from the second one
(setq posX (atof (substr line 1 nPos))) (this is ok)
(setq posY (atof (substr line (1+ nPos)))) (not this one)
I saw this border in a forum, how to add something similar to my photos? (or is this a specific programme/ add-on that was used)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm in need to be able to add a border around a PNG graphic, detail as follows:
1. Graphic is rectangular w/transparent background
2. Need to add a border around to match colour of graphic, &
3. (this is where I've hit the wall) The graphic isn't centred within the edges of the graphic "frame", ie: there's the pic part of the logo with text beneath, the text is closer to one edge of the "frame" than the other.
That item 3 above is the problem--otherwise it seems I could easily use the Filters-->Decor-->Add Border filter.
after the PNGs, I have WMF, EPS & TIFF formats waiting for the same.
