If there is a tool where I can take a selection & adjust it all different directions? I'm looking along the lines of taking a text selection & doing what I did with "flounder" & "Harmonic prophecy" in the attached pic. Nothing fancy. Just something I can't figure out. I used a different program to do that flier.
View 2 RepliesI can't seem to adjust the Writing Direction in both Illustrator and InDesign CC. The RTL and LTR buttons are not availble in the Paragraph panel at all. I need to create bilingual doucuments in both Arabic and English. I tried going through the settings, I checked my mac settings and nothing works. All other software can work this function, even with shortcuts except the Adobe CC software I have.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter making a Rounded Rectangle I often need to adjust the rectangle in the X or Y direction to fit a certain space. As I reproportion the box the three node points of the radiused corner also reproportion, distorting the radius. Any way to reproportion a Rounded Rectangle and keep a true, undistorted radius? And even better, resize the rectangle and keep the original radius.

When I select an anchor point with Edit Anchor tool, the Property bar activates settings for adjustment of this anchor point. I can change the angle at which anchor point receives connection. When I de-activate this button (see the picture) it de-activates the angle field... and nothing changes! The connector behavior is the same as before.
The question is: What is the function of that button? I think there must be only the angle field.
when working on illustrator my selection tools won't adjust shapes anymore. I can move shapes around but I cannot resize them or stretch them. If I have a rectangle shape on my screen selected, the hash marks that are normally in the middle are no longer there, also at the edges of the rectangle the selection tool doesn't change over to the rotate tool. My selection tool also has a small black square at the bottom right of it that I haven't noticed before. I have no clue how I got into this mode, preferably without resetting all of my preferences,

I know I can use delete or backspace but sometimes I get cought up trying to finish my selection and with so many points made, that doesn't seem like a cool things to do. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I'm in the process of doing is creating shapes in Sketchup and exporting them as 2D images. Obviously, those images have a lot of "dead" space around them that I would like to reduce.
I'm able to select a rectangle selection tool and select my image, with the goal of pasting it into a new image which will have much less "white" space around it. My question, is there a more precise way of doing this? I need to cut out an even pixel space, for example, a 128 x 64 (both sides need to be even), how do I know what is the size I'm cutting out? And sometimes it's hard to do correctly do it with my mouse, is there a way to adjust the selection borders with the keyboard instead?
I have created a linetype with the text GAS OPTION in it. The line is continuous with a break around the text. In a straight line the linetype works fine (breaks around the text etc). However, when I use a polyline and spline the line for a curved line the text aligns with the direction of the line at the start, but when the line bends, the text suddenly changes direction and reads in the opposite direction. It looks like AutoCAD is trying to keep the text upright rather than following the direction of the line. When the text changes direction it also changes its insertion point and overlaps the continuous part of the line. I have 2013 AutoCAD.
Here is the string I used for the linetype.

I have cut several sections at different points along a road alignment. The sections are cut facing the same direction as the alignmnet. Is there a way to reverse the section direction without changing the alignment direction?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIm trying to create a logo similar to the Harley Logo for a friend's wedding. Their last name begins and ends with "S" and Im trying to replicate the "S" in the Harley Logo.
If I copy and paste the Harley "S" on the right side of "Cycles".. it's a no brainer. If I copy and paste the "s" in Cycles and try to move it to the left for the first letter in their last name.. I can't seem to bend it the right way so the bottom of the S follows the curvature of the shield like the other one..
I'm working now on a project with canvas size A4 (5600x4200).i'm working with large objects and small objects each in its own layer.i wanted to align few object in a certain way and i wanted to use the grid for this.however the grid is so small and can only be seen using 66% and more zoom in. which makes it impossible to align the object since i can't see all of them together.
is there any way to adjust the grid to be in proportion to the correct zoom or not window ? as a workaround i found is the grid plugin , but with it i must recreate the grid for each zoom size and its hard to work like this. having the grid adjusted automatically or at least allow max/min setting for it so it can be seen in an A4 size canvas.
Is this the only place now? I thought it was available in Edit mode. What about all the people (and there are a lot of us) who only use Edit mode? Surely it was available in before the last service pack? Who has not installed SP2 know? We have this in all previous versions of PSP that I have used.

I would like to be able to adjust the aggressive of smoothing quality. This would allow me to draw very smooth curve with minimal effort using a mouse.
Gimp 2 has this option Smooth stroke I really like it but too bad, gimp 2 is slow to load and is not as lean as Paint.net. I suppose it should be something like a setting, not an effect that applies after the curves have been drawn.

what is the purpose of the histogram display on the adjust pane. can it be modified from there? Also - what is the purpose of the four boxes below the histogram display?
Together they take up too much real estate to be there just for looks .
Whenever I go from Edit to Adjust (or Manage) the photo disappears. I can retrieve it if I go to open. I assume that the photo should show up when I go from Edit to Adjust or Manage.

1. Draw a square.
2. Select the square.
3. Begin tweaking the square's properties--stroke width and color, fill, pattern, etc.
So how do you select the object you just drew? All I'm seeing is 'select an area' tools, which of course won't work for adjusting a specific drawing object.

I don't know if it is obvious but I couldn't see this shortcut in the Paintshop X4 User Guide. So, I am sharing:
By pressing "shift + a" will make "manage/adjust/edit" tabs disappear. To show the tabs, it is just necessary to press "shift + a" again. It will give more workspace. This feature just works when you are in "edit" tab. In the other tabs none happens.
Usually I only use Edit Mode in X4.Recently I have been exploring Manage Mode and now decided to try Adjust Mode.I have found that everytime I leave Adjust Mode to go to Edit Mode or Manage ModeI get an error "Encountered an improper argument".
View 14 Replies View RelatedI purchased PSP 5 and uninstalled PSP 4. After installation, I am unable to see any image previews in manage, adjust or edit mode. I have installed the service pack updates with no change in this absent function. Neither the main window nor the organizer palette will display any jpg image previews. I CAN go manually to a specific file and open the image and edit it at will, but I cannot see any previews of any images in the main or organizer palette. how to get the program to display image previews. I never had this problem before in any of the previous PSP versions. I have also uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the program to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to select single color areas in the picture and paint them with different color. There are quite some of these areas in the picture, which is a problem for me. I have been using Magic Wand tool (with Shift click) to select all these areas with same color but I am not able to paint these selected areas with "one click".
Now I need to use Pain Bucket tool maybe 100 times to paint all the individual selected areas one after another. Is there way to paint the whole active selection at once?
I'm looking for an option to adjust the grid size and to snap-to-grid.
For some purposes, you can find a way around this, but it is a pain when working on a project that requires perfect precision.
The topic has been brought up before, but I'm hoping to hear of any news on the possibility of implementing it. I don't assume there has been made any plugins to cater this need since earlier posts on the matter, so I'm hoping to persuade developers to implement the feature in a new version of paint.net instead.
If you need to know more specifically what I'm looking for, then it's basically what you have in Adobe Illustrator or any decent 3D modelling software you will ever come across. It would work pretty much exactly like the grid already in place, except you would not be limited to working only with individual pixels, but rather groups of pixels as you zoom further out. The grid would preferably have thicker lines every 5, 10 or 15 lines, etc. for user to position the various elements.
Not knowing what I was doing, I very carefully used the brush tool to paint a 'selection'. Except, I guess a brush tool cannot create a selection.
Is there some way to add the painted area to a mask so I can increase the vibrance of the area which I have painted over?
Does anybody know if it is possible to make a selection and use this selection to paint with?
