Oct 23, 2011Although Paint Shop Pro X4 runs the filters from Topaz Labs correctly on a single file, PSPX4 chokes when running the filters as part of a script in batch files. Not only was the program unable to apply the plug-ins correctly in a batch file, the errors were different depending on the plug-in.
I ran my tests on 8 JPG files with dimensions of 4021x3024 pix, file size averaging 2.8 MB. I then reduced the files to 800x600 pix dimensions and ran the same tests. Results were the same on both size groups. I recorded a script with only each Topaz filter, then tested the script on a single image. The script worked. The problems occurred when run in batch processing. I tested against another company's plug-in, running Alien Skin's Xenofex 2 Burnt Edges in a batch file with script on the 8 images with no problem. I also tested the same Topaz Labs filters in PhotoLine 16, recording and playing actions. The plug-ins ran perfectly in PhotoLine.
When batch processing was run in PSPX4, it was run with the test script selected and silent mode selected. Silent mode means the script should run from start to finish with no intervention by the user. Here's what happened in my tests.
Topaz Adjust 4 - Batch file runs correctly through 4 images, then the process freezes. The Windows Task Manager shows PSPX4 to be "running."

Aug 13, 2013Who here uses Topaz as a photoshop plugin and what do you think of it? To me it is not a cure-all but it saves a lot of time for quick edits or just refreshing a boring picture.

Nov 16, 2013I open an image from LR5 into CS6 and then apply Topaz Adjust 5 filter. I make my alterations in Topaz and save back to CS6. The resulting image in CS6 is markedly different to that shown in Topaz.
I have tried making the image 8 bit instead of 16bit in Photoshop before calling up Topaz but to no effect. The image rendered back in PS is lower contrast and less clarity, loosing many of the enhancements from Topaz. This seems to apply especially to monochrome effects. I can't see how to go straight from Lightroom to Topaz as Topaz only appears to be a plugin for CS6 and don't know if this would work anyway.
Photoshop :: Mac Lion Topaz Labs Plugin Bundle
Apr 16, 2012I installed per the dmg. The Topaz Labs site says the plugins install into the HD/Library/Application Support/ Topaz Labs folder. When you look in the PS CS5 Plugins folder the aliases of all the plugins are there and Get Info says they're in the above location .
I've used them in PS CS5, they work without problems. The installer was supposed to find all Photoshop apps and install into them. It installed in CS2 and PS Elements 4, but not in PS Elements 10. I emailed Topaz support a week ago and have had no response. I decided I'd try just copying the aliai into PS Elements 10 and see if it worked. Alas, lo,voila, que pasa. There is no Topaz Labs folder in Application Support. There is no Topaz Labs folder in the Adobe folder or its sub folders in Application Support. Mac Lion 10.7.3 .
I tried looking in the Library folder of my Users folder as well. No dice. I can't understand why the Get Info would say the alias points to Application Support/Topaz Labs when it doesn't exist there, and where the heck is the folder anyway, since the plugins actually work.

Jul 28, 2012Is this the only place now? I thought it was available in Edit mode. What about all the people (and there are a lot of us) who only use Edit mode? Surely it was available in before the last service pack? Who has not installed SP2 know? We have this in all previous versions of PSP that I have used.

Oct 5, 2013I try to install my NeatImage v6.1 Pro+ Plugin (32 bits version, the only available) on my Corel PSP X6 ultimate (64 bits), as I previously used an old Photoshop version.
So I have placed the "Neatimage.8BF" file into the C:program Files(x86)CorelCorel PaintShop Pro X6PlugInsFRNeatimage directory, but when I start X6 64 bits, the Neatimage plugin does not appear in the "plugins / external Modules" menu list.
Of course the "Perfectly Clear" plugin, provided with X6, that is located in the "C:program Files(x86)CorelCorel PaintShop Pro X6PlugInsFRPerfectlyClearforPSP" directory appears and is operationnel.
BUT I see the Neatimage plugins in the 32 bits version of PSP X6, so maybe the plugin is not installed in the apropriate directory ?
How I could get Neatimage working with X6-64 ? (I run W7 Pro-64bits).

Dec 28, 2011I don't know if it is obvious but I couldn't see this shortcut in the Paintshop X4 User Guide. So, I am sharing:
By pressing "shift + a" will make "manage/adjust/edit" tabs disappear. To show the tabs, it is just necessary to press "shift + a" again. It will give more workspace. This feature just works when you are in "edit" tab. In the other tabs none happens.

Dec 4, 2011I have been trying to find a plugin for PSP that will enhance image blow ups. I've just moved over to X4 .
The best one seems to be Alien Skin Blow Up 3 but I can't find out if it is compatible. I did install a copy on X2 recently but it never worked properly, crashing at the end of the render stage. Is that because the plugin is not compatible?
The fact that it installed and worked up to the render output suggests that it is compatible but, maybe not!

Feb 5, 2013I purchased PSP 5 and uninstalled PSP 4. After installation, I am unable to see any image previews in manage, adjust or edit mode. I have installed the service pack updates with no change in this absent function. Neither the main window nor the organizer palette will display any jpg image previews. I CAN go manually to a specific file and open the image and edit it at will, but I cannot see any previews of any images in the main or organizer palette. how to get the program to display image previews. I never had this problem before in any of the previous PSP versions. I have also uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the program to no avail.

What's the analogy to those instructions in PSP? "Batch Process" seems the most likely candidate for "Automate", but there's no Perfect Resize options there.
I understand that X6 will load 8LI plugins, is that correct? How about Panels? I've both pointed PSP to the Perfect Resize directory, as well as copied the plugins into PSP's default plugin directory. No joy in either case. Both programs are x86 & x64 and neither makes a difference.
Are there any logs that may indicate whether the plugin is being loaded, or errors if it's not?

Dec 17, 2012I've recently upgraded to PSP X5 and tried to update to the latest nvidia 32 bit DDS Plugin today (this one).
After the installation i copied the "dds.8bi" file in my "PlugInsEN" folder - which worked perfect with previous versions (my latest was from 2011 tho).
When i try to save a DDS file i get the normal DDS export/configuration dialog. When i hit save, i get an error message stating that the plugin causes an access violation (in german: "Plugin hat Zugriffsverletzung verursacht").
That error message appears twice and the file is of course not saved.

Sep 5, 2013I just installed PSP X6 Ultimate 32 bit and the Perfectly Clear Plugin. It works really well part of the time but will often crash saying that Photoshop is not allowing enough memory. I'm using Windows 7 with more than 3 gb of memory. I also have Aftershot Pro running.

Dec 8, 2012Im trying to create a logo similar to the Harley Logo for a friend's wedding. Their last name begins and ends with "S" and Im trying to replicate the "S" in the Harley Logo.
If I copy and paste the Harley "S" on the right side of "Cycles".. it's a no brainer. If I copy and paste the "s" in Cycles and try to move it to the left for the first letter in their last name.. I can't seem to bend it the right way so the bottom of the S follows the curvature of the shield like the other one..

May 17, 2012I'm working now on a project with canvas size A4 (5600x4200).i'm working with large objects and small objects each in its own layer.i wanted to align few object in a certain way and i wanted to use the grid for this.however the grid is so small and can only be seen using 66% and more zoom in. which makes it impossible to align the object since i can't see all of them together.
is there any way to adjust the grid to be in proportion to the correct zoom or not window ? as a workaround i found is the grid plugin , but with it i must recreate the grid for each zoom size and its hard to work like this. having the grid adjusted automatically or at least allow max/min setting for it so it can be seen in an A4 size canvas.
