Usually I only use Edit Mode in X4.Recently I have been exploring Manage Mode and now decided to try Adjust Mode.I have found that everytime I leave Adjust Mode to go to Edit Mode or Manage ModeI get an error "Encountered an improper argument".
View 14 RepliesThis morning when I started Revit 2013 and tried to open a file that I was working on last night, I got this error: "encountered an improper argument." The file will not open.
I tried to open a different file, and I get another error saying "An unrecoverable error has occured. The program will now be terminated.... " Revit will close.
I cannot open any files, or get Revit to run. Is my installation corrupt? Do I need to re-install or is it possible to try a repair?
My Corel X5 file won't open but gives me the message "encountered an improper argument" or just freezes trying to open it. I tried installing Corel on a different computer but with the same result.
Is my file corrupt? Is there any way to (partly) recover the inforamtion in my file?
Some saved files will not reopen in CoreldrawX5 showing an error message 'Encountered an improper argument' and that is it! Very frustrating as all the work seems to be lost and needs to be redone.

Together they take up too much real estate to be there just for looks .
Whenever I go from Edit to Adjust (or Manage) the photo disappears. I can retrieve it if I go to open. I assume that the photo should show up when I go from Edit to Adjust or Manage.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI don't know if it is obvious but I couldn't see this shortcut in the Paintshop X4 User Guide. So, I am sharing:
By pressing "shift + a" will make "manage/adjust/edit" tabs disappear. To show the tabs, it is just necessary to press "shift + a" again. It will give more workspace. This feature just works when you are in "edit" tab. In the other tabs none happens.
I purchased PSP 5 and uninstalled PSP 4. After installation, I am unable to see any image previews in manage, adjust or edit mode. I have installed the service pack updates with no change in this absent function. Neither the main window nor the organizer palette will display any jpg image previews. I CAN go manually to a specific file and open the image and edit it at will, but I cannot see any previews of any images in the main or organizer palette. how to get the program to display image previews. I never had this problem before in any of the previous PSP versions. I have also uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the program to no avail.

In no apparent pattern, MAP mode displays completely incorrect locations for my photos.
The same ones are mapped properly by Nikon View (attachment snap097).
One example is these coordinates:
Latitude:N 39d 12m 58.86s
Longitude:W 76d 31m 21.82s
Altitude:182.00m
Altitude Reference:Sea level
Which is right near the Frances Scott Key Bridge in Maryland, USA.
PSP displays it as somewhere off the west coast of Africa (attachment snap096)
For some strange reason when I open a image and click on my text tool, my image goes into vector mode even when I have create mode set for floating or selection.
I had previously done work with vectoring and perhaps I set something that in now locked. I did reset all preferences, but am still having this problem. I don't have this problem in X3.
The first comment is when starting X4, viewing MANAGE tab and mousing over INFO pallet which is in auto-rollup mode on the upper right margin, Info opens to the General tab. It would be best for me to see the EXIF data as default. Maybe X4 could remember what Info tab is/was displayed?
Secondly, my Canon PowerShot SX230 has GPS tagging capability, and I'm not seeing GPS coordinates in ANY of the Info tabs. I think this info is necessary and is one of the reasons I bought the camera. Corel could include HYPERLINK capabilities in the Info space someday. See attached view of Canon Map Utility. How about an EXPORT to Google Earth function with mapping data and photo attachment?
In X5 (not in X4) when double-clicking on a thumbnail in the Organizer pallet, the BLACK control panel at the bottom appears, but the image is either Not There, or the entire screen is a Scrambled Mess! Sometimes (like in the morning after boot-up) it's ok, but other times (like in the evening) there is dysfunction and corruption. I'm wondering if X5 has a memory leak or problem? as I got a Blue Screen last night.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIm trying to create a logo similar to the Harley Logo for a friend's wedding. Their last name begins and ends with "S" and Im trying to replicate the "S" in the Harley Logo.
If I copy and paste the Harley "S" on the right side of "Cycles".. it's a no brainer. If I copy and paste the "s" in Cycles and try to move it to the left for the first letter in their last name.. I can't seem to bend it the right way so the bottom of the S follows the curvature of the shield like the other one..
I'm working now on a project with canvas size A4 (5600x4200).i'm working with large objects and small objects each in its own layer.i wanted to align few object in a certain way and i wanted to use the grid for this.however the grid is so small and can only be seen using 66% and more zoom in. which makes it impossible to align the object since i can't see all of them together.
is there any way to adjust the grid to be in proportion to the correct zoom or not window ? as a workaround i found is the grid plugin , but with it i must recreate the grid for each zoom size and its hard to work like this. having the grid adjusted automatically or at least allow max/min setting for it so it can be seen in an A4 size canvas.
If there is a tool where I can take a selection & adjust it all different directions? I'm looking along the lines of taking a text selection & doing what I did with "flounder" & "Harmonic prophecy" in the attached pic. Nothing fancy. Just something I can't figure out. I used a different program to do that flier.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed Photoshop CS6 beta on my Mac, OS 10.6.8. Once I purchased and went to install CS6, the installer informed me to uninstall the beta version of Photoshop, but didn't say how, or that there was a catch. I went and uninstalled Photoshop CS6 beta by dragging it to the trash. OOPS! - now the release version won't install, and I can't find anything on the Adobe website other than private messages from Adobe employees to specific users with the same problem as to how to rectify the issue.
Aside from venting my frustration at a situation I (and others have found ourselves in that could have been prevented by a little better planning and installer design.
I installed PSP X4 today on a new PC with Windows 7 and noticed that it has no Animation Shop. Can I install Animation Shop to this machine? Will it work without PSP 9 or does it need certain dlls from PSP 9 ? I really want to be able to use Animation Shop again.

I would like to be able to adjust the aggressive of smoothing quality. This would allow me to draw very smooth curve with minimal effort using a mouse.
Gimp 2 has this option Smooth stroke I really like it but too bad, gimp 2 is slow to load and is not as lean as Paint.net. I suppose it should be something like a setting, not an effect that applies after the curves have been drawn.
Here is to demonstrate the effect : It is smoother, I drew it by a mouse
The first thing I do with any new drawing tool is
1. Draw a square.
2. Select the square.
3. Begin tweaking the square's properties--stroke width and color, fill, pattern, etc.
So how do you select the object you just drew? All I'm seeing is 'select an area' tools, which of course won't work for adjusting a specific drawing object.
I want to know if I can use Paint.Net DLL's in a personal proyect to adjust image quality.
Specially, I interested in Autolevel adjust.
Is there a Print Layout in X5 similar to that in Paint Shop Pro?
