AutoCAD .NET :: Temporarily Adjust Snap Mode To Nearest Only?
Nov 25, 2011
I want to temporarily adjust the snap mode to nearest only.
Dim sval As String = Application.GetSystemVariable("OSMODE")
sval = "4133"
I know can change this variable using Application.SetSystemVariable("OSMODE", Val) but what value to change it to.

there is a way I can get NEAREST snap to work on the multileaders?
END and INT (where leader crosses other entities) work but cannot use NEAREST.
Can use NEAREST on normal leaders though.
Running AutoCAD LT 2013 on Win 7 Pro.

We recently had a draftsman that drew with snap on (he no longer works here), and now all the drawings he worked on have this setting turned on. I thought it would be as simple as opening up the drawings and either hitting F9 or clicking on the toggle to turn off snap. That doesn't seem to be the case. Snap mode seems to be tied to individual sheets, and every viewport. I have multiple sheets in a drawing and each sheet has multiple viewports. The last thing I want to do is open every drawing, click in every viewport on every sheet to turn off snap.
I have snapmode set to 0, but it will only turn it of in whatever sheet or viewport is active. I have to write a lisp routine that will go through every viewport on every sheet to set snapmode to 0?

In Illustrator CS6, Strokes are automaticly rounding to the nearest whole point size, and shapes I place in a given location are snapping to a grid that I can't seem to find anywhere. All my snaps are turned off, as well as "allign to pixel grid", and I can't seem to find anything in preferences or the transform or object panes that would affect these things. How do I disable both things?

We are not hitting F9, but the Snap Mode comes on. Not sure what is causing it. Not clicking it and not hitting F9. Is there anything else that can trigger the Snap Mode to "On"?

I have a user and when he's in sketch mode he trys to draw a line but it keeps on snapping to a grid. Both snap and grid setting are switched off. I can't find any settings he has different from my own set-up so I'm finding it hard to fox this problem. FYI, this user is a bit of a problem and tends to change settings without even realising he's doing it.
He's using Inventor 2012.

I'm looking for an option to adjust the grid size and to snap-to-grid.
For some purposes, you can find a way around this, but it is a pain when working on a project that requires perfect precision.
The topic has been brought up before, but I'm hoping to hear of any news on the possibility of implementing it. I don't assume there has been made any plugins to cater this need since earlier posts on the matter, so I'm hoping to persuade developers to implement the feature in a new version of paint.net instead.
If you need to know more specifically what I'm looking for, then it's basically what you have in Adobe Illustrator or any decent 3D modelling software you will ever come across. It would work pretty much exactly like the grid already in place, except you would not be limited to working only with individual pixels, but rather groups of pixels as you zoom further out. The grid would preferably have thicker lines every 5, 10 or 15 lines, etc. for user to position the various elements.

I know of DIMRND, but how is it possible make acad round dimensions UP (within a specified value) instead of to the nearest?
(This could be very handy to make various lengths of wooden baseboards and other mountings fit to machine cabinet standard lengths. I'd like to keep all the work in acad, and avoid ms-excel.)

My "Nearest" osnap is not even close to snapping to my circle. All other snaps are working fine, nearest snap are working on lines and rectangles, not at all on circles.

I am looking for a way to get my dimensions to round up instead of to the nearest.
For example... when I have one line that is 11-15/32" and one that is 11-17/32" and I need them to round up to the nearest 1/4". I want it to round up, showing 11-1/2" and 11-3/4" but instead i get 11-1/2" for both.

I'm using VB.NET to write a routine that autmatically calculates the area of the polyline nearest to a block (the pline surrounds the block) an then adds the area to the blocks attribute.
I managed to write the program to do this manually for a selected pline and block.
How can I automatically select a pline nearest to the selected blocks' insertion point?

I have an array of co-ordinates (List A) from a polyline. I have one of the co-ordinate (B) from a polyline which is located around the array of co-ordinates of the other polyline (List A).
I want to detect the co-ordinate in List A which is closest to co-ordinate (B).
Known co-ordinates would be,
1. Array of co-ordinates
2. the reference co-ordinate.

I have an assembly in a dynamic simulation and I would like to temporarily ground it for a few seconds until the motor within it spins up to maximum speed. I have thought about applying imposed forces on the assembly from several angles to prevent it from moving but ideally I would like to ground it or perhaps add brakes that dissapear after a specified time.

One of the users on mCADForums discovered this bug.
"I have a value of 3516.41mm and I want to round it to the nearest whole number.
I have tried to use the round command and it seems to round up to the nearest 10 so 3516.41mm would round up to 3520mm. So how do I get would I go about rounding to the nearest whole number?"
I suspect this is due to Inventor's internal units being cm. However as we specific "a" to be in mm and "b" to be in mm this should not be happening.

Snap commands in X6? I can not get the snap to grid to turn off. The button is off and the setting is set to off in options. Objects seem to snap all over not just to the grid. And the grid snap seems to be out of alignment-I cant seem to get objects to snap exactly to the grid.
The same files reopened in X5 are fine. This started with yesterdays install of 6.2. leaving X2 completely unusable.

have had the good fortune to have recieved a Christmas present (o.k. to myself) a new Dell 30" monitor with 2560 x 1600 resolution.
The only thing I am finding troublesome as you might be able to see by the attached screen shot, is that now my autocad menus are, as expected at the top of the screen. This new size of monitor brings with it the problem that you now have to travel your mouse a great distance to reach the menu bar items.
