I installed Photoshop CS6 beta on my Mac, OS 10.6.8. Once I purchased and went to install CS6, the installer informed me to uninstall the beta version of Photoshop, but didn't say how, or that there was a catch. I went and uninstalled Photoshop CS6 beta by dragging it to the trash. OOPS! - now the release version won't install, and I can't find anything on the Adobe website other than private messages from Adobe employees to specific users with the same problem as to how to rectify the issue.
Â
Aside from venting my frustration at a situation I (and others have found ourselves in that could have been prevented by a little better planning and installer design.
Unfortunately I attempted to uninstall my CS6 beta by dragging the app to the trash, then emptying the trash bin. Now the install disk for CS6 still sends an error message and says there is a beta version of CS6 on the disk and won't install the real CS6.Â
I checked the FAQs and found general instructions which presume there is an entry in W7 Programs & Features. There is no entry in my system, and I found no Uninstall app in any Adobe CS6 folder.
Prior to seeing or reading the bright red warning of not trashing the beta, it was done. Â Now CS6 won't install. Says an earlier version is on the machine. Â Which specific files must be uninstalled to allow the CS6 installation?
I have taken the opportunity to try Lightoom 4 beta but have decided to stay with CS6 when it arrives, I cannot see any way to remove the program from a Mac, in the aplications folder where lightroom is there seems to be no uninstall option, I have tried to drag it to the trash but that does not work, I want a lean machine for when CS6 arrives so a Gb of HD space would be worth having.
My Photoshop CS6 BETA has updated and so I need to uninstall it before proceeding. It is not listed in my add remove programs and I can not see it with my CCleaner either. Â If I go to the directory there is no set up file nor uninstall file anywhere.I am using Windows 7 and Photoshop Beta version 13.0.0.0.
Getting an error when opening the downloaded pkg file "Operation could not be completed.com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1 Couldn't open Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.pkg"
I've given up on CS4 and wanted to try CS3. I still have a few days left on my trial with CS4. Do I Have to uninstall it before installing CS3? I'm hoping I'll have better luck with it.
I reinstalled Windows recently, including my licensed copy of Photoshop CS. Since activation for CS is no longer supported, I downloaded CS2.I'm wondering if I should install Photoshop CS2 over CS? Or should I uninstall CS first? Is one method preferable?
I have installed Photoshop CC trial version and have Photoshop CS6 Extended Licensed Version also installed, now I want to remove Photoshop CC Trial version, is the best option to remove both versions and should I use this tool to remove them [URL]........ I assume I don't need to deactivate Photoshop CS6 Extended as I will be reinstalling again on the same PC.
I had already purchased CS4 (not extended), but did not have the install disk yet. Yesterday, I got my install disk. When I try to install CS4 it fails, even after I removed the extended version. When I follow the steps to correct the installation problem as described in a knowledge base article, the install seems to work, but when I launch the application, it comes up CS4 extended again and, of course, will not accept my purchased serial number. If I could return the software, I would, how to remove this trial software so I can install the one I bought?
I have installed both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of CS5 in my Win7 system. Did that because some plugins does not run on 64-bit.Now I wanted to trial CS6 and so do not wish to have too many versions on my pc. Â I want to uninstall ONLY the 32-bit CS5. When I go to either my Uninstaller software or the "Program & Features" of Control Panel, I could only see one icon/program for PS- not 2 (one for 32-bit & 64-bit respectively). Â How do I uninstall only the 32bit without affecting the 64bit version?
When installing an upgraded version of Designer or Web Designer, Xara never overwrites or uninstalls the old program like many software companies do. Is there any problems encountered with data files or anything else if you just uninstall the old program through the Control Panel (Windows)?
I removed Font Navigator before updating to version 16.4 because it didn't work well you know. But now I want to install it again. My system is 64 bit.
