View 3 Replies View RelatedUnfortunately I attempted to uninstall my CS6 beta by dragging the app to the trash, then emptying the trash bin. Now the install disk for CS6 still sends an error message and says there is a beta version of CS6 on the disk and won't install the real CS6.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed Photoshop CS6 beta on my Mac, OS 10.6.8. Once I purchased and went to install CS6, the installer informed me to uninstall the beta version of Photoshop, but didn't say how, or that there was a catch. I went and uninstalled Photoshop CS6 beta by dragging it to the trash. OOPS! - now the release version won't install, and I can't find anything on the Adobe website other than private messages from Adobe employees to specific users with the same problem as to how to rectify the issue.
Aside from venting my frustration at a situation I (and others have found ourselves in that could have been prevented by a little better planning and installer design.
My hard drive crashed - had to reload Lightroom 3. Now, I am not able to view presets, or install any new ones? Under 'develop' - the "new preset" is grayed out and I am not able to add?I depend on this program!!!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI made a mistake and attempted to install LRcc on mac os 10.6.8. I now understand that this in not supported. Now, when I go back to LR 4, it will open some catalogues, but not the one with the most work in it. Naturally, I have done quite a bit of work since my most recent backup.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with applying curves. I import a PDF and try to apply curves to it. After I open up curves and change the settings, I see the live preview on the PDF, but when I press OK to save changes, it goes back to the original PDF as if none of the changes were saved.
I also tried applying curves as a new adjustment layer, and that appears to make the changes stick. But if I resave the PDF or print it out, it still comes out looking like it did before the changes I made.
Lastly, I tried adding curves adjustment layers, and then merging all the layers, or flattening the image. In both cases, the PDF went back to what it looked like originally.
I downloaded LR 4.0 as an upgrade to 3 for my iMac. When I try to install, the error message I receive is Operation could not be completed ([url]... error-1). What's the problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI initially noticed this problem within Lion and Lightroom 4 when printing to my Epson 4800. The colour shifts to a more pinkish hue in prints done in Lion. I'd originally thought this was unique to Lightroom, but the same thing happens to the same file when printed in Preview, so I'm assuming it has something to do with Lion or the Epson printer. I can confirm it's not a monitor calibration issue, and that my printer driver for the 4800 is the one for Lion, and that everything in Lightroom and the driver is configured identically in both versions of the OS.

I am transferring files to my computer (OSX, snow leopard) via USB cable. I am using dual card system with my camera: CF and SD. I am using the "backup" option which means that the content of both memory cards is identical. NEF + NEF with identical file names.
When the camera is connected to the computer and LR4 "import" is opened, LR4 does not show "D800 1" or "D800 2" -- it shows only "D800". This means that I cannot select a card which I would like to import the files from (like I can do with D700 or D3). And most of all, LR4 reacts inconsistently on "Don't import suspected duplicates". Usually, it wants to import all images on both cards -- this means that all files would be imported twice.
At the moment, in my D800, I have SD and CF with 3 identical NEF files on both cards. "Don't import suspected duplicates" is selected. In the import window I can see that LR4 wants to import 5 files: 0474+0474 (duplicates), 0475, 0476+0476 (duplicates). So, out from 6 images it recognizes that there is a one duplicate about to be imported, but those two others are not duplicates?
I'm running OS10.6.8 on a mac pro.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have taken the opportunity to try Lightoom 4 beta but have decided to stay with CS6 when it arrives, I cannot see any way to remove the program from a Mac, in the aplications folder where lightroom is there seems to be no uninstall option, I have tried to drag it to the trash but that does not work, I want a lean machine for when CS6 arrives so a Gb of HD space would be worth having.

LR3 was very disappointing in this regard only letting you use one song and also no ability to apply ken burns type effects etc. Am I missing something or did Adobe really not make any changes to that module?

I then noticed that I still had a Beta 4 folder in my directory, so I deleted the folder since I'm using the full and laterst version of the software. When I tried to relaunch LR though I was asked to select a catalog, so I selected a file called "Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat." LR opened but the catalog was empty...none of my pictures were there! Fortunately, I hadn't emptied my trash and was able to retrieve the Beta 4 catalog, which is what LR 4 was looking for and, in fact, contains all of my pictures. So, I'm back in business but it seems strange that I'm still using an outdated version. I'd like to use the new catalog but don't want to lose all of my pictures.

I'm trying this in LR5 beta.
Working on a Mac pro dual core with 16 g ram. Was last working on an image in develop module when I closed the app. On relaunching it opens to the image I was working on, shows the little box that says loading then the program freezes and I get the very loved spinning beach ball of color. Have to force quit. Have restarted computer and so far have the same problem every time I try to relaunch. I have about 20 images in the library. All was working well prior with just a little slowness in response with adjustment sliders.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been testing LR 5 Beta since it came out and have found it to be very stable. I'd like to switch my main workflow over to it. I back up every night to two different drives (one internal drive in my Mac Pro, and one external drive), and I also have an automated off-site back-up service. I'm not worried about data loss.
But how do I do this? In the past I've waited until the full release when LR 5 would just upgrade my catalog. Can I just open my LR 4 catalog in LR 5 and upgrade it?
After I installed Bryen Weeler preset , something happened with all my images . If I want to work with or look at a picture it changes to a B/W image with out my intention. This happened when i installed Bryen Weelers presets. I have about 12 000 pictures that is turning into B/W images.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter installing LR4.1 RC2 i have lost the link to PS6 when working with CR2 files... when i right click "edit in" PS6 opens but no document is created... when i do teh same with a DNG file all works fine... perhaps it is an issue with Camera Raw compatibility?
Both CR2 and DNG work fine with PS5.5...Obviously this is not a major issue but it is behavior that needs to be fixed...

View 1 Replies View RelatedLR5 (the final one, not the beta) crashes 100% of the times I try to go to the Slideshow module. It also crashes 100% of the times I try a simple Help/SystemInfo.
I had no such problems with LR3.x and LR4.x, and my system (Win7 64bit) is otherwise perfectly stable and has all the latest patches/updates). The problem occurs even with a "clean" install of LR5 (i.e. without upgrades or migrations from LR4).
I was trying thje new lightroom 4 beta, and is been crashing everytime I try to work with it..I was editing a picture and trying to see with the before and after view, and is been crashing since then, why is that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have CS6 (perpetual license) & recently signed up for Creative Cloud so now have Photoshop CC & Lightroom also.
Creative Cloud shows Photshop CC & Lightroom are up to date.
However, Adobe Application Manager keeps stating there is an update for CS6 - namely 'Photoshop 13.1.2 for Creative Cloud' I've tried to update but each time the update fails with error message:
'Photoshop 13.1.2 for creative Cloud
Installation failed. Error code: U44m1P7'
And why the mention of Creative Cloud - is this update only for CC versions of Photoshop?
Oddly, My CS6 which was standard edition has at some time since I joined CC upgraded itself to CS6 Extended - or is that a perk of CC.
why the update is failing & what I can do? CS6 seems to be working OK, so can I just ignore the update - would that prevent any future updates working or would any future updates supercede this one?

View 7 Replies View RelatedAm attempting to install my Design Standard CS3 upgrade onto my 17" Powerbook but am unable to install the Photoshop part of it. It's because a few months ago I tried out the PS CS3 Beta and now it is saying there is a conflict.
I chucked away just the main PS CS3 Beta app but it still refused - now I have tried three different Uninstall apps from VersionTracker to kill all the components off, but I think they are not working properly as the main app is no longer present.
It's a bit of a difficult one - and I need that PS CS3 on my laptop...
I bought a brand new version of the older Photoshop 7.0 for my computer. i am running a dell Xps 630 intel core processor Q9550, i have XP loaded onto it, i put the photoshop 7.0 CD into the cd rom drive i get the auto play and selected the language and pressed accept from the menu then install button it runs for a few min and nothing.

However, my Vista Ultimate Partition is only 10GB and for this reason will not allow me to install CS4.
Even when I select D: for the installation.
I have 1GB free on C: and 60GB free on the D:
So why will Adobe not let me install on D: directly?
I think this is well just stupid that users are been forced to save this onto the same drive as your OS, I don't like to have any software installed on the same partition for security/virus/management purposes and so really need an alternative to install this, otherwise I will be forced to re-install my entire PC.
I will need to back up each of my partitions, then merge them then format, then re-install and then copy the back ups across.
Of course loosing most of my personal settings and modifications to Vista.
