So in the transfer maps box dialog when choosing what maps to output, the AO and Custom map option has disappeared from the list. All the other options are still there, normal, displace, etc. I defragmented my disk drive a while back ago but that can't be it, can it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedDisk based shadow maps seem to be broken in Maya 2012. When selecting "Add Light Name" the output file name inserts the symbol "|" between the light name and the file name making the name invalid in windows. So the shadow map never gets written.

Black Pencil
Brush Strokes
Charcoal
Coloured Chalk
Colored Pencil
Pencil
why the other art media effects all disappeared (pastel, palette knife etc) and how i can get them back?
I'm new to Lightroom - just downloaded v.4 a few days ago and love it. Just now I installed OnOne presets (free pack recommended by Lightroom website). When I opened Lightroom after installing, my Develop module options had changed - few options, no "shadow" option (now it's called "recovery"), etc. I uninstalled OnOne but problem is the same as before.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI opened up some photos to edit this evening, and have discovered that the camera profile options are gone. All that is available are the two ACR ones. I shot with the same camera and lens as I have before (Nikon D40 and 50mm), and I double checked, and I shot everything in RAW. I don't know what's going on. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, and have LR 3.6. I would really like to use Camera Standard and Camera Vivid.

The usual way by right clicking on the picture and then selecting copy the justifications and then right clicking on another picture and pasting them is very slow.
It would be fantastic if I could just use the spray tool to quickly transfer the options from one picture to a group of others. But this is only possible with presets I first have to save. But many processing options I don't want to save as a preset, because they are not that important. I just want to have a possibility to quickly play around with the options.
some projects suddenly disappeared from the selection list that comes up when you start Smoke. The project files are still there and I didn't mess with them either. Is there any way to "refresh" the project listing?

I am opening my project on a different pc than I started the project on. Some elements are missing such as materials, material jpgs and decals. Is there a way I can generate list of my custom elements that I need to somehow transfer to this other pc rather tracking manually. When I transfer my custom materials to the other pc how do I get the element to automatically read the material.
For example, I have kitchen cabinets with a custom paint color. I can transfer the paint material to the other pc but the cabinets don't recognize it automatically. I have to choose the cabinets and re-assign the material even though it is in the material list.
Why can i not see the list of options on the right hand side of some pages that allow us to "Suggest an answer", "Add to favorites", etc.
Some pages have them & some don't ...any reason why?
I have Maya 2012 Creation Suite x64 on Windows7, and just installed Hotfix 2.
PhysX has now disappeared, no plugin reference or shelf.
I've tried loading physx.mll manually, but reports missing procedures.
Also tried setting MAYA_PLUGIN_PATH to the nVidia Maya plugin directory, no luck.
What am I missing, and what did Hotfix 2 do?
I am having an issue with transferring my attributes from one object to another, the transfer works, but not 100% - the animation is taking place in the wrong translation, but the translation match in the channel box. It didn't take the place of the old object, it went off beside it.
I attached a picture, the purple ball which is on the gray plane is the one I need to replace, the ball out off of the gray plane is the one I need to be in the purple balls place.
I usually configure my set key options to key all selected attributes in the channel box. And until Maya 2012 this worked fine, if no attributes were selected you got an error. Now it keys all keyable attributes... which is messy, and wastes my time when I need to undo it everytime I miss click and hit s. I know I can fix this by writing a script but with deadlines coming up, that project is on the back burner.

Why working in Bridge I noticed that when right clicking on an image and then the "Open With" link, the only thing showing up is Photoshop CC. It would be nice if CS6 was an option as well. Is there any way to set it so that both are available?
Also, how do I install my Neat Image plug-in in Photoshop CC?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue transferring an object I have sculpted in Mudbox, and trying to import it correctly to Maya. In Mudbox, both of my objects show up just fine (don't worry about the UV issue on the face). When I choose to 'send objects to Maya,' the objects display in a new scene, but the hair doesn't show up at all. In the Outliner, Maya displays an empty transform node titled 'hair,' but I can't get it to show up as a solid mesh within the scene.
Am I going to have to remodel the hair in mudbox again and just pray that the model will import to Maya without issues?

I'm working from a book tutorial and the book wants me to "turn off Surface Selection" in the "Selection Mask Options".

I have a demo reel and I want to list my poly count next to my models. maya calculates triangles and faces(which to me are polys also). so should I say poly count: (#of triangles) or poly count: (#of faces). which is the employer more interested in (specifically in the gaming world).

Another character is the same(same bones, meshes), but with no animation, 100 times larger in size and I resize the head to make the head looks slimmer. They are saved in different fbx files and I imported them into mb scenes. I select the root bone and "select hierarchy", the export options is shown below. Then select in the same way in the larger character's scene, the importer options is shown below. THE PROBLEM is: after I import the atom, the character becomes shrinked to the same size as the former one and the ratio of head becomes the same as the former one too.
