Can't see tool options panel.Win7 64 and Maya 2012...Click on the show tools options in upper right and tool options panel will not show, also tried using the menus but panel with tool options will not show?
View 6 RepliesI have somehow managed to get the tool settings in Maya 2011 to be "floating" in its own panel. I don't know what I did that made that happen, nor what to do so the panel won't be "floating" anymore.
I know it must be something simple to fix, i'm just not sure how to fix it.

it happened again. create a new scene. import curves....bevel plus tool, option = // Error: Value is out of range: 3
at least once a week....
delete user prefs fixes it. until next time.
Adjustment Panel Fly-out menu options. The Adjustment Panel was added to Photoshop in CS4 and two of its Fly-out Menu options seem to be more a problem then useful.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI would like to create a fraction with illustrator in one of my drawings but I can't seem to be able to do it.
I went on the internet to see how I could do it and I learned that I should write my fraction like text1/text2 then go to the OpenType panel and select fractions.
Somehow when I select my fraction and go to the OpenType panel none of the possible options are available. They are writen in a pale color and inaccessible. How do I do to make those options available? Do i need some kind of add-on?
When I try to open a pdf with Illustrator (CS5.5), the panel that has you choose the options is hidden. I have to hit my enter key to progress forward,so it seems that the panel is still a step I am taking, but I cannot see it anywhere.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently discovered a 'change' to my 'Source Panel' window when I try to Import new files from my CF cards. I have 4.2 installed. All that is available on the left hand side of this window is the 'Other Source' pull down box and never any file source like my hard drives or CF cards or anything that used to be there prior to about a month ago. I reinstalled this program twice without any changes. Have I shut something off by accident? My buddy has the same program and he cannot find any reason my should be any different than his but it is.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAI CS6 Layers panel missing labels when you deselect print in the layer options. Is this a bug? I noticed this on a furnished file at work on a MacPro and had a hard time working the file because all of the labels were missing.
I stumbled on the cause when I turned on the Print Layer and all the labels came back. To be sure it was not computer related, I made a file on my AI CS6 version 16.1.0 with the same result. See screen shot.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI usually configure my set key options to key all selected attributes in the channel box. And until Maya 2012 this worked fine, if no attributes were selected you got an error. Now it keys all keyable attributes... which is messy, and wastes my time when I need to undo it everytime I miss click and hit s. I know I can fix this by writing a script but with deadlines coming up, that project is on the back burner.

I'm working from a book tutorial and the book wants me to "turn off Surface Selection" in the "Selection Mask Options".
I've looked everywhere but can't find "Selection Mask Options".
Is there something like a "Maya 2011 Bible" out there (or even 2010 or 2012)? The publisher that makes the Bible series does not seem to have made one for Maya since 4.5. I was wondering if there was a book or website that simply listed every Maya option with a short description and its location.
So in the transfer maps box dialog when choosing what maps to output, the AO and Custom map option has disappeared from the list. All the other options are still there, normal, displace, etc. I defragmented my disk drive a while back ago but that can't be it, can it?
Running Maya 2013 on Win 7 64-bit.
I have a couple of students whose models are flashing polygons badly when I orbit the panel. It kind of looks like when you have two polygons residing on the same plane, but I checked and that is not the case. The flashing stops when I zoom in on the model. When selecting an object, it becomes transparent (when zoomed out a bit).
The students said this occurred after they brought their model into the student edition, which they have at home, and saved it.
I am at a loss, and visually it is really bad. The renders are fine. Some of their objects have some modeling issues, but the flashing occurs with all objects, even simple ones.

So i have set up a facial control panel, using blend shapes and driven keys, but i need it to follow my character. If i parent it to the head, i doesn't follow when i grab the skeleton and move the character around, and if i bind it to the neck joint, i am not able to use the control panel, because the movement of the controls are locked, since they're binded to a joint.

I want to stroke a bezier curve with the Pen tool. The color of the stroke I can manage all right, but I am totally unable to find out how I edit the line type and its width in Pen tool. In the leftmost submenu showing the pen tool, there are several preset options (for the pen tool and other tools), but none of which I need. What I want, is simply a 1 pixel wide pen which draws whole lines, not dashed or dotted. And I would also like to have some feathering and/or antialiasing options in the stroke.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWell my problem is that the toolbar that comes up when you press on (example paintbrush tool or type text tool), you know that stripe above evreything where you can can select font and font size and brush size and that stuffs, well that stripe is gone.
I have selected Window and then toolbar but the problem is that I must have pull that thing away from the window and so know I relly don't know where that stripe is. (The stripe is where you can select font or font size, brush or brush size. I call it the stripe ) Well I am getting so crazy because I doon't know how to get that thing back?
Gimp in Linux (Mint 11), I've customised my toolbar layout and am happy. Gimp remembers my settings and things tend to be fine.
Every so often, however, Gimp loses my colour palette (palette editor), forcing me to add it again. And it's always my colour palette (palette editor).

I've used Gimp successfully for a couple of years—but now it’s usable. I can’t adjust the size of the brush, paint, eraser or use other functions because below the tools palate all I see is “You can drop dockable dialog here” and every function that used to be in that space is gone. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it stays the same. How can I bring back all the functions?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use GIMP for painting, pixel art and general image editing, and have batch files set up to run GIMP with the appropriate sessionrc and gimprc parameters, as well as to copy and save all other [...]\username\.gimp-2.8\*rc files.
However, whenever I use one setup and then another, my tool options are all messed up, and it's rather aggravating having to reset them every time.
I have used GIMP before, uploading artwork I created from it on to deviantART. However, this has been quite a while ago, back when it was GIMP 2.4 or so.
I recently just got a Wacom Bamboo tablet though, and wanted to get back into making art. I redownloaded GIMP (this time version 2.8) and while I am very satisfied with the update, there is one thing that has bothered me.
I'm not exactly a fan of the new format for the tool options of the brushes from how they used to be.
Basically, I prefer to how the tool options for the brushes were for GIMP 2.4 over the updated 2.8. Is there a way I can keep version 2.8 with the slight adjustment of having the tool options formatted the way they were in 2.4?
For me it's more of an inconvenience adjusting the brush size and whatnot, and I'm so much more used to how it was formatted in older versions.
I don't know if this is the right name, but my options for cropping, moving, my wand, etc, have disappeared on me by accident. I don't know how to get them back in their original place. Here's a screen shot of what it looks like now. (It's the window that usually stays on the left of the screen, I think for most people. )

Everything , my options, are gone and replaced only by the airbrush tool.
Due to a catastrophic failure on my PC's part, the BiOS needed to be reset, and I effectively lost my irreplaceable copy of CS5 Extended. Since I do not have 1,000 dollars, and I NEED to be able to do graphic design, I'm putting all my faith into Gimp at this point, hahaha.
I just downloaded the GPS package for Gimp so that I could make photoshop-esque drawings if needed.
Huge problem: I was able to copy all of the folder contents (Brushes, Gradients, Palettes, Patterns) from the GPS package into the Gimp respective folders EXCEPT for Tool-Options. I'd assume that if I can't install the saved settings along with the package it's pretty much useless.
I've navigated every folder I could find within Gimp, and I can't find this damn thing XD.
While I love digital painting, my current task requires me to be capable of designing a shop sign, business cards, and logos. Is Gimp comparable to photoshop in the typography realm? This will be my first official professional job, so it HAS to look good. So far Gimp reminds me of photoshop elements, which was my favorite photoshop due to ease of use.
When i right click on any of the tools with a little arrow in the corner to open the other tools options nothing opens: i cannot open the other pen tools for example.
I bought the adobe creative suite 6 master collection, and this function works fine in Photoshop but it does nto work in Illustrator.
