View 2 RepliesI have a problem with cs6 crop tool, well i want to create an a4 210 x 297 mm 8.3 x 11.7 preset. Well i add 210 on the width and 297 height
Now the problem , on the cs3 i was used to clickin width/heught space , right mouse click and set millimeter and save the preset. On the cs6 the right click doesn't call a pop up menu where i can select pixel, incs,cm,mm...
I keep de-selecting Sort-By-Tool in the Tool Presets window, but everytime I restart Photoshop, the tools have been moved around to Adobe's "sort by tool" arrangement, and the sort-by-tool option has become Enabled Again by the Adobe gremlins!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've never asked about this but I've succeeded in doing this many times over the years. I have this habit of flying through my keystrokes and sometimes hit a key or a series of keys causing the entire Tool bar and Window presets to disappear.
Until now, I've reset each window to show my actions, history, etc. and re click on Tools in the Window scroll to have them show up again. The question is two-pronged: What am I accidentally hitting on my keyboard to make all these disappear at once and is there a keystroke I can use to bring them all up again?
Every time I reboot, all of my tool presets are lost:
Brushes, dodge and burn tool, smudge tool - all
revert to default settings. Sure, there is a Save Tool
Presets in the tool pallet but do I really have to
reload my tool presets every time I reboot?
I'm using Photoshop CS5 on a MacBook Air running OS X 10.8.2...I have managed to change the brush in my quick selection tool, or at least the way it looks on the screen, and I can't figure out how to get it back.
It now looks like a paint brush with light rays around it instead of the circle with the plus sign in the middle. It does not change size when the ] key is hit.
The current preset says its Quick Selection Tool Hard Round 250 1...In addition when I use the marquee tool I can not see the crosshairs when I am inside the image. The only thing I have knowingly done is to create a preset for a dashed line and imagine in doing that I have messed up the other. I have also changed the preferences for the cursor back and forth between standard and precise but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
I have a list of brushes in the Tool Presets. I go to the Preset Manager and organize them in an order that makes sense to me, then I Save the presets with a name in the Tools presets. Just to be sure, I save the workspace with a new name.
If I close PS and reopen it, the tools appear in the Tools Presets, but not in the order I saved them earlier. They are all in alpahbetical order again.
I've gone through this several times, and it seems I am doing it right. I must be missing a step somewhere. This is on Windows 7, 64 Bit, Photoshop 5.
I'm trying to import Actions and tool presets from CS5 to CS6. I've read the FAQs, done the Import Presets, the pop-up box says they have been imported, I've re-started CS6, but there are still only the default sets. I looked at:- Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets, it is there, but has 0 bytes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am getting the following error message when I try and load my personal presets "COULD NOT LOAD TOOL PRESETS BECAUSE THE SAMPLED DATA COULD NOT BE FOUND" I have been able to load this in the past and it is now giving me this error.
I am running CS6 extended 13.01 for 64 bit . I have 12 mg ram and working with Windows 7
Without tool presets, it was working fine but before today, it was okay running on those tool presets. Suddenly they became a hindrance?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am sure that in the past Texture settings saved when I loaded a saved Art History Brush tool preset. But suddenly, the Texture setting - specifically Depth, is not being remembered. In other words - I have saved an Art History Brush as a Tool Preset. I have then used some other brushes and experimented with texture including the Depth setting. When I go back to the saved tool preset, the Texture Depth setting has changed to whatever it was when I last used it - not its saved value. I thought the point of Tool Presets is that they save all brush characteristics.
I'm using CS6. The tool presets and their Texture attributes work fine in CS5. Maybe I need to reinstall CS6.
a few of my various custom lines and shapes in the Tools Presets saved in CS4 and loaded in CS6 do not transfer with the correct Fill and Stroke they had in CS4. Examples are simple things like a red hollow ellipse, a red arrow, etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere's mention of a "tool presets" function. e.g. you set up your box tool just so (colors, alpha blend, thickness etc) and could then save this as "my blue box #2" etc to be recalled later instead of a ton of clicks to set it up the way you want. Is this possible to do somehow & I just missed it? are there any plugins or something that could enable a feature like this?

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I havent updated anything lately, and havent installed any new fonts, scripts or brushes in weeks, with the exception of saving some brushes with the: paste as brush command.
I am running the version 2.8.4 on my compaq Notebook, Windows 7. GIMP 2.6 works fine if i downgrade.
Is there anyway to change the Dimension tool pre sets?... i.e. color of line. type of arrow head, etc?
At the moment i have to change them every time i use the tool!
I have been using GIMP for a few weeks now and all of a sudden I cannot start the program anymore. During start up of GIMP 2.8 it displays a window saying it is loading data files. It gets as far as loading 'Tool presets' when it crashes. I tried restarting the computer and also uninstalling and re-installing GIMP with the same end result.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, the top of my tool pallet/panel is now stuck behind the menu bar at the top of the screen. I can't access the top several tools or the "grab" strip at the top of the panel that allows me to re-position the panel. View 8 Replies View RelatedSome tools I always use, some every once in a while, and some I never touch. Is there a way for me to rearrange the tools in the Tool Panel so my most used tools can sit next to each other? It would be nice to get rid of some of the tools too. I can always set a Hotkey if I really wanted to access them later.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using LR3. I appear to be digging a massive hole for myself trying to sort out the catalog. When I first got LR, I had initially added just a small number of files just to see how LR worked. At this time I was still completing sorting out my full photo collection in 'my pictures' which were also copied to two external hard drives. Once that work was completed, I imported a complete folder (some 4000 images) into LR. The folder/subfolders appeared in the folders panel but the sub folders I had initially imported were displayed with a ? and a message 'file is missing or offline' Going down the road of 'find missing folder' eventually led to my problems.
About 6 sub folders are involved so I eventually took the decision that it could be easier just to remove them so I could then re-import them from 'my pictures'. That hasn't worked out as planned. When I go into 'file' to import photos from 'my pictures' the missing sub folders are there but the images are 'greyed' as well as the import button. When I put the cursor onto one of the greyed-out images the message 'appears to be a duplicate of another photo already in catalog' appears.
how I can restore the 'missing' sub folders into the folders panel.
How can I get to see the complete tool selections on the panel?
