I keep de-selecting Sort-By-Tool in the Tool Presets window, but everytime I restart Photoshop, the tools have been moved around to Adobe's "sort by tool" arrangement, and the sort-by-tool option has become Enabled Again by the Adobe gremlins!
Okay, I use Photoshop frequently, and am quite familiar with the Pen tool. However, this time, when I tried to fill a closed path, the colour appeared on the OUTSIDE of the path. I've never seen it do that before, and it's proving persistent and annoying. I have no idea why it's done this, and therefore don't know how to fix it.
I've never asked about this but I've succeeded in doing this many times over the years. I have this habit of flying through my keystrokes and sometimes hit a key or a series of keys causing the entire Tool bar and Window presets to disappear.
Until now, I've reset each window to show my actions, history, etc. and re click on Tools in the Window scroll to have them show up again. The question is two-pronged: What am I accidentally hitting on my keyboard to make all these disappear at once and is there a keystroke I can use to bring them all up again?
Every time I reboot, all of my tool presets are lost:
Brushes, dodge and burn tool, smudge tool - all revert to default settings. Sure, there is a Save Tool Presets in the tool pallet but do I really have to reload my tool presets every time I reboot?
I have a list of brushes in the Tool Presets. I go to the Preset Manager and organize them in an order that makes sense to me, then I Save the presets with a name in the Tools presets. Just to be sure, I save the workspace with a new name.
If I close PS and reopen it, the tools appear in the Tools Presets, but not in the order I saved them earlier. They are all in alpahbetical order again.
I've gone through this several times, and it seems I am doing it right. I must be missing a step somewhere. This is on Windows 7, 64 Bit, Photoshop 5.
I'm trying to import Actions and tool presets from CS5 to CS6. I've read the FAQs, done the Import Presets, the pop-up box says they have been imported, I've re-started CS6, but there are still only the default sets. I looked at:- Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets, it is there, but has 0 bytes.
I am getting the following error message when I try and load my personal presets "COULD NOT LOAD TOOL PRESETS BECAUSE THE SAMPLED DATA COULD NOT BE FOUND" I have been able to load this in the past and it is now giving me this error.
I am running CS6 extended 13.01 for 64 bit . I have 12 mg ram and working with Windows 7
a few of my various custom lines and shapes in the Tools Presets saved in CS4 and loaded in CS6 do not transfer with the correct Fill and Stroke they had in CS4. Examples are simple things like a red hollow ellipse, a red arrow, etc.
Is there any sort of "Live Update" tool that Comes w/ Inventor 10 series? I have been to the "downloads" page at Autodesk site for Inventor 10, and have already installed sp3a, and a couple of the hotfixes (1054780 & 1057155) - I was trying to follow the dates and hotfix numbers in an effort to bring my product completely up to date, but now Inventor does not seem to be working correctly - I suspect that I did something in the wrong order. How can I know that my product is completely up-to-date, and is it possible to get a sequential list of SP's and Hotfixes so I know what order I'm supposed to install? I have also tried "repair" from the installation disk, but after "gathering all required information", nothing happens.
There's mention of a "tool presets" function. e.g. you set up your box tool just so (colors, alpha blend, thickness etc) and could then save this as "my blue box #2" etc to be recalled later instead of a ton of clicks to set it up the way you want. Is this possible to do somehow & I just missed it? are there any plugins or something that could enable a feature like this?
I have had GIMP 2.8 up and running the last month or so. Just last night, it wouldnt load up. It got to the: tools preset and, says it has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I havent updated anything lately, and havent installed any new fonts, scripts or brushes in weeks, with the exception of saving some brushes with the: paste as brush command.
I am running the version 2.8.4 on my compaq Notebook, Windows 7. GIMP 2.6 works fine if i downgrade.
I have been using GIMP for a few weeks now and all of a sudden I cannot start the program anymore. During start up of GIMP 2.8 it displays a window saying it is loading data files. It gets as far as loading 'Tool presets' when it crashes. I tried restarting the computer and also uninstalling and re-installing GIMP with the same end result.
I am creating lots of tool presets. Considering I could want to format my computer, in which Windows folder are "tool presets" stored in order to make a backup of them? I am supposing that in a new GIMP installation I could copy the saved tool presets to the correct folder and all my presets will be load, without the need to recreate all toll presets again. I
I'm using a shared computer at a university and we just upgraded to CS6. When I use the line tool while making a mask a box pops up which measures the line's length and angle.
I want to turn it off, and it blocks being able to see what I am trying to mask. I've tried looking this up online and in Photoshop but I just don't know the correct terminolgy, i.e. what to call it, to find out how to turn it off.
I've used 5.0 for a long time and have gotten 7.0 recently. I need to turn off anti-aliasing on all tools to preserve sharp lines in the illustrations I do, which is simple in 5.0, but haven't been able to find a way to do the line tool in 7.
A way to revert the icon for the lasso tool to its old self... or at least turn it into a simple cursor.
The lasso tool in this new Photoshop version suddenly forces you to see a double image: both the original lasso and a cursor above it that points to the actual connection point. This setup is annoying as hell and no - I haven't gotten used to it.
The tool ends up so large that it's obscuring part of what I want to select... not to mention that my instinct wants to see the connection point on the tip of the lasso. What was great about the original lasso was the fact that the icon itself was so thin that it didn't obscure what I was trying to select. Not just do I suddenly have an icon that's twice as large, the arrow is also thick and opaque - it's very much in my way and totally counter productive! I can understand wanting to make things more unified... but this is not the way to do it.
At least give us the option to have the lasso show up as either an arrow or the old tool. You're allowing us to show the pen tips as cursors... why not include that choice for the lasso tool too? A simple dropdown on the top when I select the tool would do the trick just fine. I might actually like having the lasso tool as a thin arrow instead of a lasso shape.
However - As it is now, it's a bad design and makes for a clunky tool that has two origin tips AND obscures my selection area.
I'm using PS CS5.1 (extended, Mac), and until this afternoon my crop grid has always displayed as a solid grid. Now it's displaying with marching ants, and it's driving me insane. Did I accidentally do something?! How do I get my crop selection area to display as a solid grid once again?
How do I turn off anti-aliasing for the pencil tool in Photoshop CS6. I want to draw a single pixel. I do not want to draw a shape or a line. I do not want additional low-opacity pixels on either side.
I set the pixel size to 1 and hardness to 100%. The pencil tool produces an anti-aliased line. I do not want this.
I just installed Creative Suite CS6 and in Photoshop, when I use the move tool a small popup window shows the mouse coordinates. I can't see any option to turn this off, either in the Options bar or the Preferences.
How to turn off the tool tips that keep showing up in the upper right hand corner. We are on ACA 2013. He tried hitting the "Don't show me this again" option and it didn't work. How I turn this off?
I just upgraded to 2.8 and when I want to add some text this tool appears on top of the text box. No matter where I move the text box it chases my text box around. It is annoying as it covers part of my image and I don't need it there. How do I turn this thing off?
Also why when I choose New Toolbox I get this super long tool pane. I resize it to what I want. Then when I close it and do it again it comes back again. Any way to set this up correctly?
I know that you can spin edges (that are visible). And I know that you can view "face triangles" (to view otherwise "invisible" edges.)But I cannot seem to select these "face triangle edges" or manipulate them. I can create a physical edge, yes, and place it where I want, but if I remove the edge, then maya seems to revert to its own random placement for the "invisible face edge." So, I feel like I have no control over the bend of non-planer quads.
In max, when you are working with edges, there is a tool called "turn." When selected, it reveals all hidden edges, and allows you to spin them to the angle you want. Turn off the tool and the selected edge position remains. Can this be done in Maya? And even if you cannot do this, is there any way to control the position of "invisible edges" in maya? Something like a "spin quad?"
