View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy not add a tool to Paint.NET? I'm pretty sure this program's development is also based around creating a image editing and creation program to where everything is simplified greatly.
I do understand that you can easily do this type of stuff with the line tool and opacity settings but really it would be towards the convenience of users.
My dodge / burn tool lightens great.
Is there a button to get it to darken instead?
How do you get to dodge and burn in photos shop elements 11

Also when I used the spot healer I am left with a smudge after I try to erase unwanted parts of an image.
use of 'quality' and 'weight' under 'smooth stroke' in say dodge/burn tool. This option is available under some other tools too but I am not able to find the effect of these options even after scouring the net and could not find any difference after changing the default values.
Version GIMP 2.8.X from software centre of Ubuntu 13.04; no modifications, no extras.
Using the crop tool on layered photos will randomly crash CS4, what can I do to stop? With 3-4 layers, photos are in the 90-100,000KB range.XP pro, SP3, 2.0 GHz, 2.00 GB ram, 2 scrath disks with 10+GB openThanks,lama2646.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the old days, one could just use the crop tool and, while drawing crop lines, check the perspective box if you found that you needed to change the perspective. With CS6 if you start with the crop tool, and find you want to change the perspective, you have to change tools to the new perspective crop tool. In the process, you have to tell the newly opened dialog box that you don't want to crop, to get to the perspective tool, which now has reset to its defaults. You've lost your cropping and you have to start over.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to PS 5.5 on my Mac I've had this problem with the dodge tool.I can change hrd/softness fine, but now way will the little 'tails' at either end of the stroke disappear, whether shape dynamics is switched on or off, All I want is to be able to have a fading stroke, not a fade and taper.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using PS 5.5 to work on a .tif file scanned from a photo negative of a building. The dodge tool & burn tool do not work, even when I set the exposure to 100%. The history palette shows "dodge tool" each time I click in the image, but nothing happens. I tried these tools in a another similar file & both dodge & burn work fine. What could cause these tools not to work?
View 2 Replies View RelatedCS2 dodge tool stopped working as set, yet Burn, Sponge, Clone Tools all work; dodge tool leaves centered white specks if clicked multiple times; all my CS1 tools work; all my CS2 & CS1 tool settings are same (0 hardness, 20% exposure), rebooting does not fix; Is it possible to create this problem by accidentally typing Shift, Alt or Ctrl "," or "." or similar whilst using CS2 Dodge Tool?

Regardless of the brush diameter or hardness when using the dodge tool to lighten an area of a photograph, it only lightens a very small area in the center of the brush and then only after repeated clicks. The burn tool seems to operate as normal (the whole area of the brush regardless of diameter).
Looking to start using RAW files more often to process my images.
Â
Tried to use the dodge tool with a RAW file over the weekend and recieved a notification saying somthing along the lines of "Cannot use this function with a 16bit file, must convert to 8bit"
Â
I also recieved a similar message when trying to use the magic brush tool.

I would like to be able to adjust exposure, color, contrast (clarity) etc. when working with a RAW file. Would like to be able to adjust these parameters using the select tool, and would also like to be able to "brush" theses adjusments on. Also, if there is a Gradual ND filter function available, i would like to know where to find it.
Â
Is it possible to do these things (with a RAW image) using PSE? If so, how?
Â
Or do I have to purchase Lightroom if i want to work with RAW images?
get my pen (Wacom Intuos 2) to work properly with dodge tool like the mouse? It is the dodge effect was made by mouse..It is by the pen (same brush size)
The brush becomes too small and has a hardness effect, not smooth at all. If I size up the brush real large it's still not right (like in lower corner) and it's hard to control because I hardly see the brush movement. Pressing the pen tip on the tablet pen/mouse mode didn't.
I'm using Photoshop Elements 10 -dodge tool to whiten the background of my product pictures. I highlight the background all white, and upload the pic to my website. The next day some spots in the background goes back to gray.

Here is a sample picture with the same problem:[URL]
In the dodge/ burn tool, can you make it so it will lighten but not lighten as much as the default?

I am a labtech at a community college and look after 48 mac pros in which the students use the entire creative suite. (I only mention this becuase any answers need to consider variations in system settings or photoshop settings. college students get into everything!)

But the issue is when you select the crop tool and enter a custom constraint and crop
Â
The image size is sometimes a full 2 inches off of what you set as a crop?! I havn't run into this before
[I do know you can use the drop down box and use {size and resolution} but I want to know why it doesnt work under custom and unconstrained]
