Turn off snap to objects. Now select a dimension tool and draw either a vertical or horizontal dimension line. Now notice the snapping to objects is re-enabled.How can I stop this from happening without having to keep turning of snapping while in dimensioning mode? This looks like a glitch in X4 because I don't see this problem in X5.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been drawing the drafting lines and measurements manually and noticed the dimensions tool. Works great but when I shrink the layout for proofing the measurements change. Is there a setting that I can select that will keep the actual measurements of the drawing no matter how I resize it for proofing?

View 7 Replies View RelatedX4 user here that upgraded to X6 a few weeks ago. One thing that's blowing my gord is having my dimensions "lock" to guidelines and/or objects -- My dimensions aren't locked in the classic sense, i understand how to lock a dimension in corel. What i mean every time i create a dimension with master guides, and then try to move my guides, my dimension moves with it.
The worst of it is that i'm mostly getting them linked to master guidelines, so when i create a new page, say page 2, and want to move a master guide, i go back to page 1, and it has messed up all my dimensions.
And no, i do not want to break my dimension apart, I need it to stay as a working dimension!
This is probably simple, but I cannot find how do display dimensions on both feet and inches.
Currently my dimensions display as a decimal (ie 12.5' ). I would like both feet and inches (ie 12' 6" )
Where do I change this, turn on option?
why the dimension tool now appears in blue? how to change it back in black?

See the figure below.
Is there any way to adjust the dimensions, when dragged, with regular distance from object?
See differences by red arrows. The intention is that dimensions keep a pre-set regular distance.
Experiencing problems with the dimension tool since upgrading to Corel Draw X6 at this end, which hasn't been resolved with the updates.
I work in mm. The system doesn't remember the default settings if I change my preferences for it to measure in mm via the customisation window or the toolbox as it used to in previous versions. When I open the program again or start a new document, the measurement default keeps changing back to ["] (inches). Sometimes, it will jump back to inches after I change the default to mm when I'm working on the same document.
Same problem seems to be happening with the other units of measure available as well.
Current workaround - the only time it seems to remember my settings is if I change the default to mm and then save a document.
I can fwd a video screen capture which shows the problem if that would work.
I have tried to use the Macro recorder to record the keystrokes as I get the dimensions from the top of the rectangle to each line of text & from the edge of the triangle to each line of text. Unfortunately the recorder could not record.
Is it possible to design a macro which can be used to get the dimensions as required ?
Dimension Issue while Exporting.png
Why am I not getting Exact and Accurate Dimension while Exporting the file to PSD Format? Do I need to Enable or Disable something?
I create a new black document with rendering resolution set to 150dpi.
If I export the artwork as JPEG, and check "Maintain Size", I'll get the artwork in correct dimension and resolution. However, if I export as TIFF, the resolution by default is 72dpi, and if I increase the resolution to 150dpi, the dimension reduces accordingly, ending up with a smaller bitmap exported.
I am looking for a (preferably free) Auto Dimension Macro for X6.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe like to put our dimension lines in CorelDraw 5 on separate layers from the objects being dimensioned. This way we can turn the dimensions ON/OFF depending on our needs. Unfortunately, we find that the dimensions for these objects do not move with the objects on the other layer. We have also found that certain edit operations seem to break the link between the objects on one layer and their dimensions on another layer.
How we can maintain our dimension lines on one layer, the objects on another, and prevent the problems described above?
Is there a way to change the default color of the Dimension lines and text? I want it to default to black not dull green! I can change it afterwards, but can't seem to find a way to change the default color.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter finally getting X6 to be stable and usable I have two things I'd like to mention..
First, I've been using a 3rd party file manager called Ztree for years and one of its most wonderful capabilities is to copy paths to the clipboard which alleviates opening/saving frustrations with the typical Windoze Explorer dialogs. Anyway, one of the first problems I noticed with X6 is that Paste no longer works in the Open Drawing dialog, while it worked just fine in X5 and as far as I can remember, all previous versions. I sure would like to get that back.
My second complaint is the File/Export routine and specifically the presets. I do a lot of exporting to PNG and JPG and use multiple presets for fixed size/print resolution image output in both file formats. During the typical export session, I essentially export multiple different drawings all of which are exactly the same size/resolution in CD and in the past (X4 and prior as I recall,) was able to just hit <Enter> when the Export dialog appeared once the preset was set to the one I needed for that session.
In X6 though (and to some degree in X5,) even though the correct preset is listed, CD doesn't appear to recognize it, i.e., the math for the size/dpi conversion doesn't take place which forces me to waste time selecting "Original" or some other preset first, waiting for CD to render the new version, and THEN selecting the conversion preset that was pre-selected when I first opened the export dialog.
My tool box specifically- the bar which lists commands like print or save--- is suddenly gone--- don't know how to get it back with no commands to call it up

I have been using CorelDraw X6 for a couple of days now (Trial version) on a Windows 7 v32 machine. I noticed a bug in the transformation tool (Alt F10). Every time that I input a number or value on the transformation box and then press enter on my keyboard it does not change the size of my object. The only way to make it work is inputting the value and then press the apply key (I had have no problems in the pass inputting values and then changing by pressing enter on my keyboard in CorelDraw X5 whatsoever.

View 11 Replies View RelatedJust checking thru all the stuff that I never got around to using and stumbled across the Interactive Connector Tool (ICT). However, when I try to use it, I can only get one end of the connection to actually latch onto an object. To fix the other end to another object, I apparently would have to make it the active object so that I could connect to - or even see - the nodes. But when I tried selecting both objects, the 2nd (connect to) object lost focus on my selecting the node of the connect from object with the ICT. Each time I end up with a line that is fixed to a point on the background as the connect to point and the connect from object on the other end.

I should add that this is the Home - Student version. Should that be any different? Nothing else has been ... yet anyway!

When I select the drop down nothing is listed. Additionally, none of the other tools in the box, Effect Tool, Image Sprayer too ect, do not work as well. Did I select something to turn off the tool?
I've tried to uninstall and re-install and that did not work.

View 4 Replies View RelatedLevel Equalization was a tool that I used constantly in PhotoPaint 8. By version 10, it had disappeared for no obvious reason. It was a really vauable tool. Fortunately, I still have PhotoPaint 8 on the system, but it tends to introduce other problems, so I rarely go back to it. It would be handy to have that tool back. X3 has something called Local Equalization and another option called Histogram Equalization, neither of which seems to do anything useful.
In fact, both Histogram Equalization and Local Equalization thoroughly screw up any image that I test on them. I don't have a clue as to why they are even there, since they absolutely don't work, whereas the original Level Equalization worked really well.
When I am using the eraser tool in correldraw x5, I get a crash from time to time.
This crash causes my correldraw to completely shutdown with a message that an unexpected error has occured and that the program had to be closed.
Working with important information, this is a big issue for me.
I work on CorelDraw X5, I have problems while printing an object with interactive transparent effect applied.I've converted the object to bitmap more times to apply different transparent effect in different direction.
Now when I print the file there are errors on the points highlighted by red circles. URL....I don't remember in the past to have had problems with CorelDraw 10 to use this effect.
For years I have used the clone tool happily which has been great for touching up photo's on Photo-paint 12
A few days ago - imported a jpg into Paint as usual, went to use the clone tool and it just doesn't work any more. I can select the icon and the little circles come up but it just doesn't 'clone' anything. Its as if there is mysterious setting that has been turned on that just makes nothing happen.
I have reinstalled the software: no luck - still the same.
I am trying to use the break apart blend tool and every time it says corel has a problem & shuts down my X4?
