How to reproduce the error:
Create a new document.Convert it to 48 Bit RGB mode.Fill the document with any colour.Create a new object and use a brush to apply some contrasting colour.Select the Blend tool and try to blend with it.On my machine the cursor will draw black instead of blending.

Apr 13, 2011I have created a symbol in CorelDraw X5 on a Mac using parallels.
The symbol is on a layer which is not locked, and the object which has become a symbol was grouped before I made it into a symbol. The boundary marks changed from black to blue.When I try to select Edit/Symbol/Break link, the Break link command is greyed out.

Aug 8, 2011Im writing a script that will use the contour tool and then break the resulting contour apart, change the outline of the contoured object and then regroup both objects.
heres what I have so far:

So in this script Shapes(2) is the contoured object that I want to change the outline of. Im guessing however it is only called shapes(2) because there was only 2 objects in the document when I wrote this script, (starting with one). In fact, if i start with a document with more than just one object, the outline change doesnt work.
I need to either leanr how to get a count of all objects in the document and assume the highest number will be the last created object and will thus be the one I need, or perhaps there is a way to instantiate the contuored shape when i call ActiveSelection.Seperate. something like
dim myContouredObject as shape
OriginalSelection + myContouredObject = ActiveSelection.Seperate
I'm sure the above wont work, just trying to be a bit more explicit about what im trying to do.
So, basically, how do i get the name of one or all of the objects resulting from a break apart?
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: Can't Select Text Above A Blend
Jan 6, 2012I have a circle which is blended.
In the circle is some text, rounded - not circle text, it is placed on top rather than typed in the circle directly.
I need to edit the text and it won't let me select it! No matter how far I zoom in to make sure I'm clicking the text, the circle gets selected and the blend tool opens.
They are not grouped or anything. This has happened before many times and with much persistance I get there eventually - but is there a much faster way?

I am trying to simulate the radius edge along the curve such that it looks like it is a 3D object raised off the surface with drop-shadow (c). I want to retain the curved line (b) and the 90 degree corners (a) The object has a three-colour graduated fill.

EDIT: I am a bit closer using the contour tool but not quite right yet and I can't add a drop-shadow to a contour group and I want to make the 'white' section a bit wider.:

They were all taken with the same camera within about a minute of each other, but the difference if appearance is mind blowing. I have an arc shape that I'm trying to fill with a gradient-type blend where it will be 0% spot on the lower left side gradually going around to 100% spot on the lower right side. The example I have attached shows the shape on the left with a conical fountain just to give an idea of something close, but it won't actually work for my shape. I also attached a cdr X5 file which contains a blend I was working on, but can't seem to get it to work (that is the shape on the right). I tried cutting it in half which works, but I still can't get it.

Feb 2, 2011The imported file is probably from Illustrator. The vector element in question is text converted to curves with a CMYK bit map fill. CorelDraw X5 seems unable to extract the bitmap fill from the vectors. What's up with this, is there anyway to extract the bitmap fill?

Computer memory is no longer the issue - 32 bit computer programs are.Until then I will stay with X4. run in Windows 7, 64 bit with 12 Gigs RAM.

Apr 17, 2012I have been using CorelDraw X6 for a couple of days now (Trial version) on a Windows 7 v32 machine. I noticed a bug in the transformation tool (Alt F10). Every time that I input a number or value on the transformation box and then press enter on my keyboard it does not change the size of my object. The only way to make it work is inputting the value and then press the apply key (I had have no problems in the pass inputting values and then changing by pressing enter on my keyboard in CorelDraw X5 whatsoever.

Apr 8, 2013Just checking thru all the stuff that I never got around to using and stumbled across the Interactive Connector Tool (ICT). However, when I try to use it, I can only get one end of the connection to actually latch onto an object. To fix the other end to another object, I apparently would have to make it the active object so that I could connect to - or even see - the nodes. But when I tried selecting both objects, the 2nd (connect to) object lost focus on my selecting the node of the connect from object with the ICT. Each time I end up with a line that is fixed to a point on the background as the connect to point and the connect from object on the other end.

May 29, 2013I'm using CD X5, (I own it, not the trial download) and the Effects/Add Perspective menu choice is greyed out. ! Not selectable. I select the photo I want to change persp but the option is not available. I did reset the interface by pressing F8 upon load and it did change to default but still no perspective option.
Win 7 home Premium 64bit
I should add that this is the Home - Student version. Should that be any different? Nothing else has been ... yet anyway!

May 4, 2008The brush tool is no longer working - when I select on any of the brush tools, spray, Art burhs, spray , line, marker etc, they will not work. When I select the drop down nothing is listed. Additionally, none of the other tools in the box, Effect Tool, Image Sprayer too ect, do not work as well. Did I select something to turn off the tool?
I've tried to uninstall and re-install and that did not work.

May 21, 2011Turn off snap to objects.Now select a dimension tool and draw either a vertical or horizontal dimension line.Now notice the snapping to objects is re-enabled.How can I stop this from happening without having to keep turning of snapping while in dimensioning mode?This looks like a glitch in X4 because I don't see this problem in X5.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: Level Equalization Tool
Apr 15, 2013Level Equalization was a tool that I used constantly in PhotoPaint 8. By version 10, it had disappeared for no obvious reason. It was a really vauable tool. Fortunately, I still have PhotoPaint 8 on the system, but it tends to introduce other problems, so I rarely go back to it. It would be handy to have that tool back. X3 has something called Local Equalization and another option called Histogram Equalization, neither of which seems to do anything useful.
In fact, both Histogram Equalization and Local Equalization thoroughly screw up any image that I test on them. I don't have a clue as to why they are even there, since they absolutely don't work, whereas the original Level Equalization worked really well.

Mar 15, 2011I work on CorelDraw X5, I have problems while printing an object with interactive transparent effect applied.I've converted the object to bitmap more times to apply different transparent effect in different direction.
Now when I print the file there are errors on the points highlighted by red circles. URL....I don't remember in the past to have had problems with CorelDraw 10 to use this effect.

Is there a setting that I can select that will keep the actual measurements of the drawing no matter how I resize it for proofing?

A few days ago - imported a jpg into Paint as usual, went to use the clone tool and it just doesn't work any more. I can select the icon and the little circles come up but it just doesn't 'clone' anything. Its as if there is mysterious setting that has been turned on that just makes nothing happen.
I have reinstalled the software: no luck - still the same.
