Jul 16, 2008I am having a weird issue whenever I make a selection with the pen tool and right click and make it a selection. The selections (dancing ants) go around the outside of it. I know to hit Shift+Ctrl+I and it inverses it normal.

Feb 4, 2009I have been trying to figure out a way to add to a selection. What I mean is I draw a path with the pen and then save that and turn it into a selection and save that too. The problem is when I want to change the path of the selection using the pen tool it just gives me this funky path after the selection is made. When working on multible layers I need to use the same selection and due to the complexity of the object and impractibility of re-doing the whole selection again with the pen tool without the part of the layer that I don't want.
Would it be better to bring up the saved path, delete or move a few anchor points and resave the path? The problem with this is I believe it will discard the old path that I made first and I can't have that.

May 27, 2006Is there a way to use the spherize tool for non-spherical selections? For example, I have an outline of a human body and I want to give it some depth - make it bulge out so to speak. I tried to make a selection around it (made it tight around the edges so that the selection outline is exactly like the outline of the body) and then spherized it. But it seems like the effect comformed only to a regular sphere shape, but only on the selected region. It doesn't look good. I'm looking for a way to get the things inside the selection to "bulge out". Is there a way? Am I being unclear?

Mar 7, 2012pdf drawings are king at our company. When we creat a product, pdfs (and sometimes stp files) are generated and placed in folders organized numerically by part number.
Our challenge is that finding all the current pdfs for an assembly is not automated. Thus, to get all the current drawing pdfs, someone has to open up the top level pdf, read all the part numbers, go get/print the pdfs of the parts, subassemblies, subassembly parts, etc. This is time consuming and error prone and getting worse as the number of parts we always increasing.
I'd like to automate the process. I'm thinking about a program/script that: Extract parts list from pdf of Inventor assembly drawingCopy pdf of individual parts/subassemblies to a directoryMerge all pdf for that assembly into single pdf.

Oct 9, 2013While using the Lasso tool often (10% of the time) it will complete the selection pre-maturely, with a single left click. Similarly and about the same frequency it wont start a path at all and I will need to click again to begin the selection. This has been happening for 5months since I upgraded to Creative Clous and Photoshop CC. Im running a more than capable machine.
Is there any known resolution for this?

Oct 26, 2007I am trying to fill a selection in one picture with a selection from another picture. I am having problems scaling the selection to fit exactly. i still have an outline from the other (previous) selection.
I opened both images up side by side, Adjusted the view on both to 33%, made my first selection, hit control + c, made my selection on the other picture (Exact same shape), hit control + v + shift, then edit>transform>scale, then shift+drag.
Can't get it to line up. I also tried layering the two images then reducing the opacity of just the selection, but photoshop reduces the opacity of the entire layer instead of just the selection,

May 20, 2013I can see a single column Tool palette and a double column Tool palette
but these require holding the mouse down to access all tools ... which is too slow.
I can drag off the individual Tool sub-palettes but they don't dock ... so wherever you put them they are in the way.
Where is the complete dockable Tool palette?

Aug 3, 2013In Elements 9 I want to select and copy a layer which is partly empty. This is to make a layer mask. The non-empty part is too complicated to select using any of the Select tools. If I use Select All, then copy and paste to a new layer, the pasted image is not in the right place - it has been displaced significantly. I am then not able to use it to create a layer mask, because it will not be properly placed above the original image. Why does this displacement happen ? Is there something I can do to avoid it ?

Mar 18, 2014I'm new to Adobe. I just started using Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements.
Adobe Elements 12 Organizer reminds me to backup my catalog about every third time I open it.
So, I did a backup to my Drobo5N.
Every single time, no matter how long I let the backup run, it stops at 96% and OS X 10.9.2 shows the program as 'not responding' so I have to force close it.
