How can I use selections in Elements in word and Print Shop or anything else so they still have a transparent background. Even if I save them with a transparent background, when I insert or copy the image into another program it has a white background.

Every time I select a part of the image and try to move it, it becomes a floating selection and then I have to go to the menu and defloat.
Is there a way in X6 to move parts of image without the float, defloat process ?
Whenever I rotate a selection in X6 it creates a promoted selection layer and then makes a copy of my selection and rotates it.
Is there a way to rotate a selection without the copy ?
I have been trying to select an ellipse selection area around an oval shaped logo to create a mask or transparent background. I am trying to use the ellipse selection tool. When I use the ellipse selection tool, it makes an out of control shape that goes off the edges with a marquee and there is no way to adjust it. So then I created a selection shape using the vector shape tool, but I couldn't do anything with the selection after making it a raster object. I tried to flood fill background area...mouse pointer is there with bucket but nothing happens. Nothing seems very intuitive, clear or logical to me. you pick a shape and then use handles to adjust it to the actual shape is what seems intuitive, but that is just too easy.

I have to repeatedly copy and paste from PaintShop Pro X4 into Word 2007.
When I choose the default paste, the pictures are fuzzy in Word
1) this is not a problem with other programs, such as Irfranview, as the source, instead of PaintShop Pro X4.
2) if choose "Paste Special" in Word-->bitmap, pictures are sharp. It is the default paste that is the problem.
3) I do not want to have to use "Paste Special" all the time
This is rather odd, to say the least. Why should the same image captured by the Windows clipboard from PaintShop Pro X4 vs Irfranview behave differently when pasted into Word 2007?
I would like to move a selection from on photo to another. Example: I would put my face on an advertisement captured by by scanner. How can I do that with Photoshop elements?

Now the selections are not showing up on the screen when I reopened the file and the duplicate layer I made them on. How can I get the previous selections to reappaear? Using PSE 9.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to fill a selection in one picture with a selection from another picture. I am having problems scaling the selection to fit exactly. i still have an outline from the other (previous) selection.
I opened both images up side by side, Adjusted the view on both to 33%, made my first selection, hit control + c, made my selection on the other picture (Exact same shape), hit control + v + shift, then edit>transform>scale, then shift+drag.
Can't get it to line up. I also tried layering the two images then reducing the opacity of just the selection, but photoshop reduces the opacity of the entire layer instead of just the selection,
In Elements 9 I want to select and copy a layer which is partly empty. This is to make a layer mask. The non-empty part is too complicated to select using any of the Select tools. If I use Select All, then copy and paste to a new layer, the pasted image is not in the right place - it has been displaced significantly. I am then not able to use it to create a layer mask, because it will not be properly placed above the original image. Why does this displacement happen ? Is there something I can do to avoid it ?

It's time consuming to hit that printer button x number of times. I just had to print 50 pages of the same layout today and it would be so much easier to let the printer print the 50 copies instead of sending 1 page 50 times to the printer.
