The first job I want to do is work on a series of pictures taken on successive days, and then print them out four to a page to show a consultant. I don't appear to be able to do anything so simple and am astounded.

When I take a picture with the camera rotated to the right the pictures shows up in Windows explore with the picture top on the right. In X2 it also showed with the top on the right. In X3 and X5 the photo is shown with the top on the top, auto-rotated.
When I rotate the picture in X5 or maybe X2 counter clockwise the picture is now shown in Windows Explore correctly, top on top. But when viewed in X5 the picture now appears rotated to the left, the top on the left.
I am using PaintShop Pro Photo X3 build 13.2.1.20 with an HP Deskjet 6940 printer running on a 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium system. If I follow the following workflow an apparent problem is revealed:
1. Open image file and go to File | Print...
2. Under Size/Position choose Fit to Page and note the image size details
3. Click on Properties
4. Go to the Paper/Quality tab
5. Change the paper size to A5, for example
6. Click OK
7. Note the image size details - they have not changed from those noted in 2
8. Click on Properties
9. Click on OK
10. The image has now been resized
11. Click on Properties
12. Choose a different paper size
13. Click OK
14. The image has not been resized from the dimensions in 10
15. Click on Properties
16. Click on OK
17. The image has been resized

Is it possible to have more than one picture (preferably 2 or 4 and maximum 6) on a full screen at the same time. So that choosing which picture you want to keep is made easier. Now I increase zoom of thumbnails but this leaves a lot of unused space around them including the different tool bars.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a trial version of Paint Shop Photo 2010, trying to make a simple slide show with music. I downloaded into my laptop from my desktop, 137 pictures already organized and sorted by me and numbered sequentially (using my old faithful, but antiquated PAINT SHOP PHOTO ALBUM ). However!! When I bring this into PSP2010, all the nicely numbered pictures are scrambled! And I can find no way to do a simple file sort by "Name" (i.e. number). I can sort my File Folders by name!! But that does me no good. PSP2010 leaves me with no choice but to hunt each photo from memory (no file nos. are showing now) and drag it into the tray.

I’m designing a simple, basic text-only logo for my web site. I know how to make the image transparent. That’s not a problem, if I'm using a plain solid color as the background of the page.
What I would like to know is this: How do I make the text logo transparent if the page background of my web site is an image, such as a photograph, or textual wallpaper. I’ve never tried that, and am wondering if that will make the creation of a transparent GIF more difficult.
Is the procedure for making a transparent GIF different in this case? If so, what steps should I take?
I'm using PSP Pro Ver.5 under Windows 7 on a 64 bit machine. When I attempt to perform a "Save As' operation using the pspimage option, some of the pspimages appear as thumbnails - but other pspimages appear only as icons. How do I get them all to appear as thumbnails?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI store all my photos in the directories under the public pictures folder, (C:Users Public Pictures) rather than in my pictures folder in my documents. I do this so that all the users on the system can get to the pictures.
I'm having problems getting Paint Shop Pro to recognize the folder correctly. I have added the c:users public pictures folder to the organizer using the Browse More Folders action and it shows up. However, the Smart Collections don't see any of the files in the folders under this dir.
My overall goal here is to be able to use the timeline feature on all my photos at once, so I want to get all of the photos into the All Pictures smart collection.
I am trying to equating images in the best way in a PSPIMAGE Project. My base image (background) has a dimension of 640 x 480.
I inserted two pictures. By original configuration, picture A (200 x 266) is bigger than picture B (145 x 189).
- If I increase size of picture B (to achieve same size of picture A), this picture will loss quality. Isn't it (I'm not completely sure)?
- So, maybe could be best decrease size of picture A (to achieve same size of picture B). But it will "harm" my main "composition" of dimension 640 x 480.
It seems to be simple but I don't know what to do or by where to begin...
I am looking to cut some pictures out with the specific dimensions of 960x350. I am using the cropping tool (free form), but it does not show me what the dimensions are as I drag it across.
Anyway to set a crop to that size and then I can just move it around the picture till I have it just where I want it?
Is there a way in PSPX5 or X6 to rename a picture (or string of pictures) so that I can have a "Constant such as VACATION_" followed by the create date from the EXIF data as YYYY-MM-DD followed by a sequence number?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new computer, with Windows Vista. I used my wife's existing CD to install Paint Shop Pro 7 (from 2001 - yikes!). It seems fine, except for a few of the preferences. The BIG problem is that the [Printer] button on the Page Setup dialog no longer appears! Here's the verbiage from the PaintShopPro7 user guide:
6To surround the image with a color, click the Background button. When the Color dialog box opens, choose the color. The area of the paper from the image edge to the paper margin will be covered with this color.
7Click the Printer button to open the printer.
8Click OK to close the dialog box and save the settings.
I reset preferences using the shift key and the instructions on the cited web site. neither worked I also restarted the computer. If I open paint shop X5 the paper edges can be seen behind the image but if you look at the enclosed screen print you can see paper edges are not visible in paint shop pro X6.

I have them sorted into categories and PSP4 "unsorts" them. If I could transfer the categories/albums, keeping the titles, etc.

I use the gray scale option and that works great, but it still has the shading of the drawing/picture, and I want lines only. So is there some what of a easy way to do this?
Question 2. Once having a line drawing if some of the lines are a little shaky or kinda looking to pixel ish, Is there a simple way to smooth these lines out?
I want to work with more then one picture at the same time and I want to be able to open more pictures during my work. With version X3 I could switch between Manager and Edit to open more pictures. Now the program closes all opened pictures if I switch from "Edit" to "Manage". Is that as it should work now?
How can I open the browser inside the Edit area? I could not find a function or Icon to do that. I just found the possibility to use the function 'Dual Monitor'.
If I select the function 'Dual-Monitor' the program changes my selected setting (Thumbnail Mode) to Preview Mode and I cannot change it anymore. Is that as it should be or is it a bug? I want to work with Thumbnail mode and not with Preview Mode.
I have Dual-Monitor switched o and restart the program. Now the two tasks are not opened on my two screens. I currently see the Edit screen and cannot switch to the Manager. Even with the task manager I cannot switch to the Manager of PSP. When I closed the program after switching on Dual-Monitor I had both tasks on different screens and so I would have expected to get it with the next start of the program.
If I open more then one picture I get a task in the taskbar for each opened picture. That seem to be very strange for me. I do not have more then one task of the program. I have several opened pictures in own windows (not tabbed) in one program.
I just bought a Canon Pixma ip4920 printer, and I use Paint Shop Pro X4 - the problem i'm having is that what I see on scrren and what I get when printing a picture are totally different. My computer is a Dell Inspiron laptop. How to calibrating the colors to match?

I found - Grain Generator at [URL] ...... but it does not allow setup a spicle/grain size only 1pixel. I want dirrerent and random sizes from 1x1px up to 4x4px size.
Can it be simply generated in PSP X2/X4 or some good even online generator?
I want to create a image file with six passport photos on a 4x6 photo print page. To do that I was asked to do the following:
take a photo yourself, crop it down to a 2x2 square, then copy and paste this into a 2 by 3 tile pattern (4x6 in. canvas size). You now have them print out a 4x6 photo
I don't know how to "tile pattern"

The placement dialogue for printing which used to be in inches is now in mm and there seems to be no way of changing it back to inches.

I have re-set X6, using the Shift key method, but the problem is still there. I can use the menus and print, but those icons don't belong there.

It's time consuming to hit that printer button x number of times. I just had to print 50 pages of the same layout today and it would be so much easier to let the printer print the 50 copies instead of sending 1 page 50 times to the printer.
