I have PSP x14 on win7 64b. I would like to make a photo look like it's on a canvas so that it would show a depth of border along the top and down the nearest side. I have tried altering the perspective and adding narrow selected lenght from the top and side of the original photo but am still not getting the effect I am after.

When I got my new laptop, I was told that my program was outdated and was recommended that I purchase Corel paintshop Prox4, so I did. I would like to burn my pictures to a CD or DVD for backup and to share with my family, only. My old program had an easy one step button to click on to make a CD/DVD. I find this product to be difficult to use for an average person just wanting to have a little fun with their pictures and doing some minor corrections.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using PSP for a long time now (fisrtly PSP7 and now PSP9) and I wanted to buy the new version PSPX4. I downloaded the free-trial version and I saw that it is impossible to generate files bigger than 10'000x10'000 pixels. In the canvas size menu, it's impossible to give a higher number. The problem is that a made bigger files with PSP9 and I'd like to keep on working on it without resizing them.
So my question is : Is it only a limitation of the trial version or is it simply impossible to work with bigger images than 10k x 10k ? I hope there is a simple solution because PSP9 encounters some problems with Win7...

View 3 Replies View RelatedONLY--now when I go to the layer I made the original changes on in Text, it refuses to let me type new ones. The little symbol shows up and the long line for text size and placement, but it will not take the text.
My mentor who is out of pocket right now--hey you know who you are!--said I should try using esc because I probably had a selection hanging around. So I did--and did--and did. Even used ctrl z a few times thrown in! No luck.
I did manage to "fool" pdn enough to copy and post one of the text pieces I need, but no more. It's on to me.
I don't want to post a scrnshot because I don't want this particular thing on a public site like Photobucket. With my mentor we've been able to use email and attachments.

I created a canvas with 10 x 15 cm.
I am unable to create a vector rectangle or to set a raster image layer to fit 3 x 4 cm. I intend to fill the 10 x 15 cm canvas with a plenty of 3 x 4 cm photos.
a) Considering a rectangle vector, I set it to 300 x 400 (width x height), but the size don't match 3 x 4 cm, since the ruler (preferences/units/ruler) is set to cm an it is clear the 300 x 400 vector is smaller than 3 x 4 cm. Then, how could I set vector size to millimeters or centimeters?
b) I paste an image as new layer in the 10 x 15 cm canvas. The pick tool allows just scale the image, but I would like to obtain more control over raster image size. So, similarly to the vector issue, how could I set raster size (layer image into bigger 10 x 15 cm canvas) to fit 3 x 4 cm exactly?
I'm trying out X4, and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but it seems like the canvas size on X4 at any resolution is much smaller than in X3, e.g., at 200 pixels/inch, X4 allows 50"x50", while X3 allows 164x164". Similarly at 150 pixels/inch, X3 allows 218", while X4 allows approximately 67". Given the fact that X4 is supposed to provide access to more memory, and uses a scratch pad, this does not make sense to me-

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm guessing that this is a super simple question, but evidently I'm not sharp enough to figure it out....I've imported a bitmap file [.tif] into PP, & it's MUCH larger than the letter-size canvas I'm using. So I'm wondering what the simple method is to fit that bitmap to the canvas. The thing that's driving me nuts is, I select this big bitmap [it's roughly 3300 px by 2800 px, FWIW], go into Image > Resample, & under "Image size" it's giving me 11.0 x 8.5! And why PP is saying that the image is already the same size as the canvas--well that's why I'm writing this post. Cause I don't know why.

i'm using my corelphoto paint x3 for a year now and it is working fyn then on one occassion i don't know but while editing an image, i suddenly discovered that my effect tools, paint tools, clone tools wont work or wont make changes on the image i'm editing... i've already checked the menus and settings but still no work..i also tried reinstalling the program but still it's all the same..

filter to apply that gives a watercolor effect such as can be made to work in PS Elements. I really like the way Elements handles it but would prefer to do it all in PSP. Are there such things a plugins for PSP that would work like that?

The video I am referring to, it showed how to do it as a script, and then customize it with a shortkey, and finally, it showed you how to add it to the menu (I had it under "Images", just above Flip Horizontally, Flip Vertically).

Going ahead to print gives me a B&W print. The same file prints perfectly in color in PSP X3. What setting I need to tweak?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAttached there is a picture made through PhotoScape where big outline rectangle is rounded. I am trying to do similar one through PSP. Drawing I found some difficulties:
a) How to create a rounded rectangle? I tried to use “rectangle tool” but I couldn’t find adjust to make it “rounded”.
b) Considering the possibility to create a “rounded rectangle” and applying “shadow drop” on it, will the shadow appear “rounded” as well? Or is there something to do?
c) In some tests I made applying “shadow drop” on a normal rectangle (as a new layer) the only adjust I could make after that was on “shadow size” (dragging the mouse). I couldn’t find a way to access effect properties to readjust attributes as “opacity” or “blur”. How to come back to “shadow drop” configuration panel (attached) to readjust settings as opacity or blur?
The placement dialogue for printing which used to be in inches is now in mm and there seems to be no way of changing it back to inches.

I have re-set X6, using the Shift key method, but the problem is still there. I can use the menus and print, but those icons don't belong there.

The white spaces in between tree leaves such as palm trees are especially challenging to fill. They can be hundreds of distracting white spots in the scene to fill .
View 2 Replies View RelatedI vaguely remember a process (like the photo merge tool) that let you paint in red what you wanted to get rid of and paint in green what you wanted to keep. It didn't have to "merge" files. I tried it a couple of times with pretty mixed results (back in X3 I think.) Is there a similar tool in X4 or can you use photo merge for this? (I tried opening photo merge with one image, painting it in red and green,clicking process, but nothing happens on the image.) I will resort to the object remover or clone brush if my mind is playing tricks on me about this tool, but I wouldn't mind trying it in this tricky situation.
