Paint Shop Pro :: How To Set Vector / Raster To Centimeter Into Bigger Canvas
Jul 23, 2012
I created a canvas with 10 x 15 cm.
I am unable to create a vector rectangle or to set a raster image layer to fit 3 x 4 cm. I intend to fill the 10 x 15 cm canvas with a plenty of 3 x 4 cm photos.
a) Considering a rectangle vector, I set it to 300 x 400 (width x height), but the size don't match 3 x 4 cm, since the ruler (preferences/units/ruler) is set to cm an it is clear the 300 x 400 vector is smaller than 3 x 4 cm. Then, how could I set vector size to millimeters or centimeters?
b) I paste an image as new layer in the 10 x 15 cm canvas. The pick tool allows just scale the image, but I would like to obtain more control over raster image size. So, similarly to the vector issue, how could I set raster size (layer image into bigger 10 x 15 cm canvas) to fit 3 x 4 cm exactly?
how to distribute vector or raster evenly within a specific part of my canvas, i can get it done evenly to the width of the canvas. for example i want about 4 rectangles in just a section of my canvas at the same distance from each other.
I am "vector tracing" a logo in PSP, and exporting it to Motionstudio 3D for an explosion effect. I am currently able to do this with no issue, but the explosion effect (specifically the size and shape of the particles) is based on connecting the nodes in a vector object. For example, if I have a capital L made up of 10 nodes, the subsequent explosion effect with separate the L into particles based on the 10 nodes. What I want to do is have the various nodes that comprise the traced letter connect with constituent nodes in the center/surface-area of the letter to form a "grid" (in PSP) so that the subsequent explosion (after export to Motionstudio) is comprised of more/smaller particles. Is there a way of not only having a vector object with "fill", but also having that "fill" made up of other vector data?
I do not want to use the the Pen Tool to make selections of Vectors! I want to know if it possible to use the Pen Tool to select say the eyes or the arm or the chair or the apple, etc! Then convert that vector pen tool selection into a Raster selection?
Photoshop and Gimp do this! I would love this feature in PaintShop Pro X5, but since that out maybe the next version X6!
I've been using PSP for a long time now (fisrtly PSP7 and now PSP9) and I wanted to buy the new version PSPX4. I downloaded the free-trial version and I saw that it is impossible to generate files bigger than 10'000x10'000 pixels. In the canvas size menu, it's impossible to give a higher number. The problem is that a made bigger files with PSP9 and I'd like to keep on working on it without resizing them.
So my question is : Is it only a limitation of the trial version or is it simply impossible to work with bigger images than 10k x 10k ? I hope there is a simple solution because PSP9 encounters some problems with Win7...
I have PSP x14 on win7 64b. I would like to make a photo look like it's on a canvas so that it would show a depth of border along the top and down the nearest side. I have tried altering the perspective and adding narrow selected lenght from the top and side of the original photo but am still not getting the effect I am after.
I'm trying out X4, and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but it seems like the canvas size on X4 at any resolution is much smaller than in X3, e.g., at 200 pixels/inch, X4 allows 50"x50", while X3 allows 164x164". Similarly at 150 pixels/inch, X3 allows 218", while X4 allows approximately 67". Given the fact that X4 is supposed to provide access to more memory, and uses a scratch pad, this does not make sense to me-
have used Paint Shop Pro X3 for as long as it has been around and could always change text(select the text tool)from Vector to floating before actually typing the text. Now after not making any changes to psp pro x3 I it sticks on vector all the time. PSP PRO X4 Does the exact same as well. It defaults to vector and will not let me change to floating.
I have a single vector text instance in my (PSP file) image. It says "cat". I want to make multiple copies of the image but with the word "cat" localized into different languages. Rather than editing the vector text via the "Text Entry" dialog box I was hoping to be able to do this with a script. The the idea is that I would have a copy of the script for each language, change the relevant text as required and run the script. E.g. For French, I would edit the script changing "cat" to "chat" and then run the script against the French image.
So first I wanted to identify the part of the script that I would need to edit. To do this I created a script as follows: I started the script recorder, change the text "cat" to "dog" in the Text Entry dialog box, saved the script, opened it in a text editor and searched for the text "dog". However, the word "dog" does not appear anywhere in the script. I don't understand this. Where is the vector text "dog" being stored? If I run the script against a different image that also has a single instance of vector text, it changes the text to "dog", so the script is working correctly.
I've been marking-up images with vector text (on vector layer) and have some issues. After clicking to position the text box, typing in text and then clicking the CHECK tool button to 'set', how does one go about deselecting that text object? It's not working smoothly here!!
PSPro X I screen captured a map then added text (and arrows via the paint brush). It is now a vector image. What do I need to do to copy 100% of what is in the image to a word 2003 doc.
I am creating a photo collage and have created a Vector Layer (Text Tool) however I am unable to see this text on top of a Raster Layer (Photo). However the Text is visible if I move it onto the Background. I am unable to Arrange the Text to the Top.
I am finding some difficulties to deal with vector files in PSP.
a) When reading=> I saved several .SVG files from Inkscape software and PSP isn’t able to open the files (I could open them through GIMP). The “SVG import” dialog box opens in PSP, but when I click in “ok” a message mentions “this is not a valid SVG file”. What could be happening? What is the better/compatible vector file format that PSP is able to handle?
b) When writing=> I created a vector logo with text and drop shadow in layer style. I would like to send it to other people that don’t have PSP. So, is there any vector file format which PSP is able to write/save? I tried to save it in .WMF and .EMF, but the output isn’t good (the definition isn’t good, the shadow doesn't appear, when I insert the logo in Word the text character changed to japonese character).
I have a PSPIMAGE file with a plenty of images as different layers. I am adjusting the images having one image "size" as reference (make same width and height). But I could select the multiple images just through layers pallete
whether is possible to select multiple pictures (each in different layer) by using the "pick tool" direct in the canvas (or other means)?
i've an image of a tyre..100x100 pixels.when i import it in edge, i get something like 1000x1000 and the tyre is left side top..as 100x100 the rest is empty and i cant get it away??
I am tracing a simple raster shape in a new vector layer and I want to know how I can remove a portion of the content from the center. Picture a shape like a letter "o" where there is shape data comprising the perimeter ring, and no shape data in the center. I trace the perimeter of the the shape making a solid eliptical-type shape, but I need to then remove a portion of the center of the shape so that only the ring of the O has vector data. How can I do this?
I have lots of vector text objects to add to my graphics. When I add a vector text object by default "Stroke" is selected and the "Fill" color is set to the current background color selected in the Materials palette. Is there a way to change this so that by default "Stroke" is cleared and the fill color is always black regardless of the current background color selection?
I'm hoping there is a way to do this, but I haven't figured it out yet. What I'm trying to do is similar to putting text along a vector line, but I want to use an image that is tiled horizontally instead of text. I don't want the image to be tiled both horizontally & vertical, instead I want it to curve with the vector line like text does so that it looks like lace, either above or below the line, NOT along it. Is this possible in PSPX4?
I have a layer with a vector circle. I only want to use a segment of the circle. Placing the cursor on the circle does not give the +ADD. How can I put some nodes on the circle so that I can delete the rest?
For some strange reason when I open a image and click on my text tool, my image goes into vector mode even when I have create mode set for floating or selection.
I had previously done work with vectoring and perhaps I set something that in now locked. I did reset all preferences, but am still having this problem. I don't have this problem in X3.
I have a rectangle that is 400px width by 200px height. Now, I have used just the pen tool to create this. I have a stroke on it and a fill, both being the same colour. What I want to do is add some random shape INSIDE the FILLED rectangle, but I want that to be transparent.
I've been using Illustrator since the late 80's but this request just now came up for the first time, twice in one day: the clients each want me to send them layered files (OK-no problem) wherein all the layers, even the raster layers, register as vector layers. Or at least all the layers, regardless of file-type (vector or raster) are contained within an unflattened Illustrator file. One of the clients specifically asked that the Type layer (No problem-all the type is on one layer) be "vector mapped", whatever that means, while all the other layers can be Photoshop layers, if necessary. So how do I hand them an open, unflattened Illustrator file containing both vector art and raster art? Can it be done in Acrobat, as a PDF? I'm working in AI and PS CS5, but I can and will upgrade if I have to.
I want to cut out a section of an image and drop it onto a white background in another image.
I drew a vector point to point line around the area I wanted to copy and chose "selection from vector object" thinking that this would select the region inside the vector object. I then tried "copy merged" from the menu and pasted the clipboard into the new image. Now this didn't work and the copy only seems to copy the what is under the selection line rather than what is enclosed.
