I reset preferences using the shift key and the instructions on the cited web site. neither worked I also restarted the computer. If I open paint shop X5 the paper edges can be seen behind the image but if you look at the enclosed screen print you can see paper edges are not visible in paint shop pro X6.

I need to have the materials palette show so that, among other matters, I can change the color of text I add to the image. I did not have this issue with X2 and this issue is forcing me to go back to that older version.

ALL I want to do is..
place a photo on a page and then give it a border..a 'transparent' border - aka..perhaps a softened edge / or one which looks like its 'merged' into the background. Im doing a dvd cover so ideally not wanting a ''photo simply stuck on page' look. A more subtle effect.
Easy enough ( with previous versions..Photoimpact 11 per say ) ..click on border..select a fancy design and hey-ho it appears...the effect of a photo with a blended feel into the background.
NOW - all i've managed to do on this program is, SELECT IMAGE>PICTURE FRAME> ( a choice appears) once click on..say..EDGE FUN 03..the effect ( of some flowers ) does appear..but alone with it a massive great white border...shrinking the image etc...ALL I WANT TO DO IS TO TURN THAT MASSIVE WHITE BORDER INTO..SAY.. ANOTHER COLOR. or perhaps just blend it into my original background.
I have set my original layer to ..transparent.. ( i think )...but have colored this purple.
( How the heck do you get the right-hand categories to appear in my main editing page. Having to go to EFFECTS>EFFECT EDGES..or whatever...to show a small thumbnail of an effect isnt great..much perfected Photo impact when you ran your mouse along the effects and by and large the effect changed on your original large image so you can see what the effect was better. )
I would like to know if PSP X4 would take advantage of having more than 4 GB of RAM on 64 bits systems.

Is there a setting to get the file names or is it again a "new and extra ordinary function" which takes of the file names? I cannot work without the file names.

In Photoshop, there is a shortcut that does the following:
Ctrl + Alt + Shift + E — You’ll get a new layer at the top of the layer stack containing a merged representation of all visible layers (handy for sharpening adjustments, etc.).
I tried this in PSP X3 and it doesn't work. Does it even possible to do this in PSP? I know how to merge all the layers in PSP but all the merged layers then disappear. The Photoshop feature keeps all the visible layers and merges them into a combined merged visible layer.
If you've ever created an image having multiple assorted layers, and want to apply a modification to the final image while keeping those original layers intact, here's the script to do that:

Just use your favourite text editor to copy that code into a text file, and save the file as "CopyVisibleMergedToNewLayer.pspscript" in your user scripts directory. Doesn't matter if it's the "Restricted" or "Trusted" directory.
As the name implies, all the visible layers will be copied and merged, so it's easy to first "hide" the layers you don't want merged before running the script.
Yes, it's just a series of recorded actions; but the key is its use of the "Select All" and "Paste Into Selection" actions -- that ensures that the resulting merged layer maintains the same positioning as the individual layers. In other words, if your original layers have a transparent background and opaque areas that are off-center, simply using Edit...Paste As New Layer will center those opaque areas in the canvas, which is not what you want....
when i resize an image for example to 27 x 18 cm there is no problem however, when i try and print the image and the preview window comes up there seems to only be a tiny part of the picture visible? its basicly a tiny square in the top left corner of the preview page and its just big enough to see its a minute part of the image i want to print. If i try and print the image anyway i just get "could not start print job".I never had any issues before then suddenly a few weeks ago the problem happened in version x2 on any pictures i tried to resize and print , so i updated to x3 in the hope it would correct the error but its still there. Any setting somewhere , i tried using a trial version of a rival program and that worked fine and showed the print preview exactly how it should.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIn my version of X6 32-bit, there is a problem with the icons in Print Layout, they're not the normal icons, but one's used when tying as script to an icon.
I have re-set X6, using the Shift key method, but the problem is still there. I can use the menus and print, but those icons don't belong there.
The first job I want to do is work on a series of pictures taken on successive days, and then print them out four to a page to show a consultant. I don't appear to be able to do anything so simple and am astounded.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using PaintShop Pro Photo X3 build 13.2.1.20 with an HP Deskjet 6940 printer running on a 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium system. If I follow the following workflow an apparent problem is revealed:
1. Open image file and go to File | Print...
2. Under Size/Position choose Fit to Page and note the image size details
3. Click on Properties
4. Go to the Paper/Quality tab
5. Change the paper size to A5, for example
6. Click OK
7. Note the image size details - they have not changed from those noted in 2
8. Click on Properties
9. Click on OK
10. The image has now been resized
11. Click on Properties
12. Choose a different paper size
13. Click OK
14. The image has not been resized from the dimensions in 10
15. Click on Properties
16. Click on OK
17. The image has been resized
Is there anyway to bring up a the printer dialogue box or tell the printer I need more than 1 print of the layout? It's time consuming to hit that printer button x number of times. I just had to print 50 pages of the same layout today and it would be so much easier to let the printer print the 50 copies instead of sending 1 page 50 times to the printer.

I’m designing a simple, basic text-only logo for my web site. I know how to make the image transparent. That’s not a problem, if I'm using a plain solid color as the background of the page.
What I would like to know is this: How do I make the text logo transparent if the page background of my web site is an image, such as a photograph, or textual wallpaper. I’ve never tried that, and am wondering if that will make the creation of a transparent GIF more difficult.
Is the procedure for making a transparent GIF different in this case? If so, what steps should I take?
I'm using PSP Pro Ver.5 under Windows 7 on a 64 bit machine. When I attempt to perform a "Save As' operation using the pspimage option, some of the pspimages appear as thumbnails - but other pspimages appear only as icons. How do I get them all to appear as thumbnails?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new computer, with Windows Vista. I used my wife's existing CD to install Paint Shop Pro 7 (from 2001 - yikes!). It seems fine, except for a few of the preferences. The BIG problem is that the [Printer] button on the Page Setup dialog no longer appears! Here's the verbiage from the PaintShopPro7 user guide:
6To surround the image with a color, click the Background button. When the Color dialog box opens, choose the color. The area of the paper from the image edge to the paper margin will be covered with this color.
7Click the Printer button to open the printer.
8Click OK to close the dialog box and save the settings.

i´d like to know if ther is any hotkey on how to move any object or a group of objects from far on the page to the page border.
I need to generate some decent grain/noise bakground for web page of size 128x128 or similar size.
I found - Grain Generator at [URL] ...... but it does not allow setup a spicle/grain size only 1pixel. I want dirrerent and random sizes from 1x1px up to 4x4px size.
Can it be simply generated in PSP X2/X4 or some good even online generator?
I apply a stroke to one or more images which share a common background. I click on the thumbnail image in a given layer, add a new layer in which I stroke the image. This all works as expected, after I apply the stroke I only see the border but not on all four sides? The layers have all been previously aligned and distributed. If I move the image slightly the border becomes visible on all sides, but the images are no longer aligned.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBuild a model, position it, turn on or off layers you want or don't want to be seen, create a new layout. then reposition, change layers and so on, create a new layout, maybe zoom in on a detail, create another layout and then export all to a PDF.
my problem is if you change layer visibility it affects all layouts , not what I would expect. Or if you zoom in, it still bases the layout on extent , all though display type does seem to hold on the layout it was set for.
so what would be the proper way of showing only relevant information on several different sheets.
i have been sent a border from my client which has been drawnt in model space and they are asking the border they sent me for my drawings to be inserted into Paper space. When i insert the border into paper space the border is way to big for the paper space and i dont know how to make it fit ISOA1 size.

After some "floundering" (not an official AutoDesk term), I see the dimension in Layout. Don't know what I'm doing wrong, or how I manage to get the dimensions to show again.
