Is there a way to move a selection without it becoming a floating selection in PSP X6 ?
Every time I select a part of the image and try to move it, it becomes a floating selection and then I have to go to the menu and defloat.
Is there a way in X6 to move parts of image without the float, defloat process ?
Whenever I rotate a selection in X6 it creates a promoted selection layer and then makes a copy of my selection and rotates it.
Is there a way to rotate a selection without the copy ?
I have been trying to select an ellipse selection area around an oval shaped logo to create a mask or transparent background. I am trying to use the ellipse selection tool. When I use the ellipse selection tool, it makes an out of control shape that goes off the edges with a marquee and there is no way to adjust it. So then I created a selection shape using the vector shape tool, but I couldn't do anything with the selection after making it a raster object. I tried to flood fill background area...mouse pointer is there with bucket but nothing happens. Nothing seems very intuitive, clear or logical to me. you pick a shape and then use handles to adjust it to the actual shape is what seems intuitive, but that is just too easy.

so every time i launch psp, literally every time i have to move the pallets around. then sometimes, if i drag in a large image it does this:

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhenever I go from Edit to Adjust (or Manage) the photo disappears. I can retrieve it if I go to open. I assume that the photo should show up when I go from Edit to Adjust or Manage.

I saw a video and read some instructions about adding and modifying text and I just keep getting confused. For the most part, I am trying to add some text to a photo and I get messed up.
I am using a Nikon D7000 and shooting in RAW format. Recently, I took some time exposures of Niagara Falls at night, to capture the colors and the lighting on the falls.
When I view the files in the media tray, everything looks alright. However, if I select a photograph to look at more closely, , some sort of automatic brightness adjustment is taking place which brightens my foreground and washes out the color on the main part of my image. This process changes the histogram of the photo. When I move to Express Lab or Full Editor and choose "Smart Photo Fix", and reset various settings to "Original", it doesn't bring the photo back to its original appearance, so clearly there are other settings that have been automatically adjusted as well.
I've looked into the Preferences menus, but can't find anything that will turn off this automatic adjustment process.
I have an existing drawing (A3 size) which loads with a mottled grey background for some reason (looks fine when printed).
I want to select a couple of small rectangles and put them on another page. Perhaps another possibility could be if I could save my selections as separate files (if this were possible) then I could use the "Open as Layers" method which is well described in this forum.
I would like to move a selection from on photo to another. Example: I would put my face on an advertisement captured by by scanner. How can I do that with Photoshop elements?

View 12 Replies View Relatedincrease productivity and usability with the selection tool. When a large image is zoomed out and you create a selection, obviously not every mouse increment can correspond to increasing or decreasing the width or height by a single pixel.
But this can cause some problems. For example, if I am viewing an image at just 50%, the selection will increment or decrement by 2px starting at 1px, leading each increment to be an odd number. For those working in design, this can be somewhat frustrating especially when trying to create selections 300x200, or some other even number. To remedy this, I suggest snapping these selections to increments of five. So instead of the with going 235,237,239,241 it would go 235,237,240,241. That way you hit every single multiple of five and ten.
I am trying to fill a selection in one picture with a selection from another picture. I am having problems scaling the selection to fit exactly. i still have an outline from the other (previous) selection.
I opened both images up side by side, Adjusted the view on both to 33%, made my first selection, hit control + c, made my selection on the other picture (Exact same shape), hit control + v + shift, then edit>transform>scale, then shift+drag.
Can't get it to line up. I also tried layering the two images then reducing the opacity of just the selection, but photoshop reduces the opacity of the entire layer instead of just the selection,
Just came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:

View 14 Replies View RelatedI want to select part of an image with just one layer. Say I just flattened the image and have to move one part of. I select it with the rectangular select tool. It seems intuitive that I could then just move what I selected, but when I drag the selection, the selection itself moves without moving what is inside the selection.
If I then remember to click the move tool and try to move what's in the selection (seems to work sometimes, maybe when there's multiple layers?) the entire image moves.
The only way I can move part of the image over is if I make a selection and then cut it (ctrl X) then paste it.
How am I supposed to move part of the flattened image, is there a way I can set it to default to "When I select something, I can immediately drag that selected area around."
if is possible to create the paint drips in the attached design. I really want to learn how to create urban designs, is corel paint shop x3 suitable for that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?

For a while now I have been trying to find how to add moving .gifs into some of my paint.net works, yet whenever I try to find an answer the only thing that comes up is how to make a gif on paint.net which is not what I want. How to put gif into a paint.net piece of work or at least include a link to where I can find a tutorial.

after I draw the eclipse how do I select and position it witout moving the whole layer, also after I have drawn it can I select it and change the thicknes.
I am designing a baseball uniform using paint.net. The player's name on the back of the jersey is not centered. I need to somehow move the name and only the name to the right. I know nothing about paint and the move tools don't do anything except shade the entire drawing.

1) I open up a large image as background.
2) I add a new layer, then import a smaller image into that layer.
3) I try to select and move the smaller image so that it's positioned where I want it, but despite seeing the "nodes" on the side and corners and trying every possible combination of blue arrow/white arrow/shift etc., all I seem to be able to move across the canvas is the transparent box created by the nodes. In other words, I'm moving the box that contains the image, but apparently not the image itself.
Might this have anything to do with one image being a .pdn and the other being a .png?
how do get the effect of water moving? eg a flower floating on moving water.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI found that Photopaint X6.1 is very unstable when i'm trying to move objects down or up.
Bad news is that its happening after longer period of work like around hour or more, designs with hundred or more objects.
90% of "not responding" errors are caused by moving objects down or up.
With X6 64bit I learned to save files more often than in previous versions.
system configuration:
Win 7 Pro 64bit, Intel i5-2500, 8 GB RAM, 128 SSD SAMSUNG + 2TB on hard drives.
corel version:
X6 VERSION: 16.4.0.1280
Every single time I move an image it filters, I have to copy the image to MSPaint and then copy it back to Paint.NET to make sure it isn't filtered, it's so annoying.
Is any way to stop the images from filtering?
I know this is basic I slect one layer for the image . When I use the rectangular selection tool on the layer and go to resize or move the selection with the move resize pixel tool instead of moving or resizing the selected area I get blank rectangle that moves or resizes. The selected area just stays the same.
