Paint Shop Pro :: Create New Tray
May 14, 2013I would like to gather some photos from different files in a new tray so I can manipulate these photos together. I have tried to figure this out and I think I have done it before. But for whatever reason now I cannot use the add tray button nor can I do it on the organizer button at the upper left corner of the tray. When I click on more options none of the tray buttons are highlighted, so I cannot get it to create or delete or rename a tray.

Mar 9, 2012I am trying to create a linen background. I succeed in creating the first layer and lines run horizontally. I create a 2nd layer and what should happen is I recreate the original block and then rotate ONLY the 2nd layer so it is verticle lines. Then I would do an overlay mode on the 2nd layer so that it appears to have a linen appearance. However, when I am working on the 2nd layer and rotate it (and single layer only is checked) both layers rotate to the same direction. how to actually rotate only one image on a separate layer?

Sep 12, 2011I have lots of vector text objects to add to my graphics. When I add a vector text object by default "Stroke" is selected and the "Fill" color is set to the current background color selected in the Materials palette. Is there a way to change this so that by default "Stroke" is cleared and the fill color is always black regardless of the current background color selection?

When I first loaded it, a window appeared asking me to register for a "Corel PaintShop Pro X6 Membership" (Standard), or to login under my existing account. However after I fill in the blanks for either new or existing membership and click the button, nothing happens...absolutely nothing. Then a smaller window opens that asks me to sign in (or if I'm not a member, offers an opportunity to learn more about PSP X6 Membership). When I fill in those blanks and click the button, I'm notified that I am not a member, so I click the link to learn more about PSP X6 Membership and am directed back to the window that doesn't do anything.

I have searched these forums but didn't find any threads related to my inquiry.When I create a script to compress to 96dpi there are weird color/light artifacts in the resulting pics. When I do the "save for office" function the pics get even smaller with no artifacts.
1. what settings does the "save for office" compressor use so that I can recreate thru other means

May 15, 2012I want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?

Dec 19, 2011I have an image of a map and want to create a number of individual images of that map each with a large white dot with a black edge (to highlight different cities).
I have created a separate image of the dot using both transparent background and normal background and then attempted to use EDIT>COPY the image of the dot and then EDIT>PASTE to the image of the map but no matter which PASTE option I use I cannot achieve what I want to.
Also (different problem) I lost my MATERIAL PALETTE. I noted that to restore it I could use VIEW>PALETTES and select MATERIALS but it was already selected. I also used the F6 key without success. I had to start PSP by pressing the SHIFT key when I started it to restore PSP to its defaults and then I could select and display it. So what stopped me from displaying it in the first place?

Dec 24, 2011Just came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:

Feb 3, 2012I just downloaded paint.net after about 6 hours of trying to accomplish my goals with MS Paint - this is a LIFESAVER...I can't believe I didn't hear about it earlier. It's allowed me clean up a scan of a plat map 99%. The only problem that I have now is somehow the black lines got changed to black and shades of gray and I'd just like to clean it up some so that it doesn't look so....jagged.Is there a way to reduce the color pallette to about 6 colors? Or is there a better way?

May 31, 2013So, i would like to become a Graphic Designing or atleast keep it as a hobby. More likely, i would like to design characters for games, in the beginning 2d sketches and why not 3d models. So, my first question is, what do I have to learn first to become a decent graphic designer, how to start, and what should i focus on?
My second question relates to Paint.NET. So, i've been experimenting with making sprites of images that already exist, by taking parts of them and putting them together, and changing colours and stuff. But now that i've tried making sprites of my own, i've got some problems of making a starting black and white sketch. I've been using the lines and curves tool but the curves are hard IMO to use. I would wanna know if i could copy somehow curves and reverse them, ill give you an example of why I want to do it.The head of the sprite would be cooler, if both right and left side would be symmetric.
