I have it installed, I have the plugin "loaded" and "auto-loaded", but when I try to import a .3ds file, there is no geometry or anything. I see "Transform1" in the Outliner, and I don't really see any errors.
I tried playing around with windows, hit "show all" on everything I can find.
This video from Autodesk describing the procedural texture generation "Substance" refers to a "Substance Bonus Pack". This doesn't appear to exist anywhere. Is this something that is going to be added to Product Enhancements for subscriptions? Or is this part of the 2012 release that I'm just unable to locate?
I'm trying to use 3dsmax 2011 graphite freeform polydraw tools to retopologize a scanned high poly model.
Here are the steps I went through:
1-Imported the high poly mesh (.obj) 2-Converted to editable poly 3-Used ProOptimizer modifier to make the model "lighter" for my pc 4-In the polydraw tools, I selected "Draw On: Surface" 5-"picked" the high poly model 6-Selected offset 0,2 7-Created new object using the polydraw tools "New Object" 8-Froze the high poly model 9-Started retopologizing
The problem is that during the retopology process, my mesh doesn't ''stick'' to the reference high poly model... so I have to stop every now and then to adjust it which takes a lot of time.
I do know that there are a lot more specialized retopo tools like Topogun and 3Dcoat, but acquiring a new tool is not an option at the moment.
I am working on a project where I did some object keyframe animation, some lattice animation and a cloth simulation. I really need to take that animation into C4D so I can add some other elements. My problem is no matter what exporter I use when I open it in C4D I get no animation. I have tried baking before I export and using the exporter to bake. I have tried .DAE and .FBX. and My cloth sim is Cached.
i'm having a problem with maya 2011 , i can't open some file and sometime the program don't save and an error message appear saying i "maya could not save", i've got to send my work next saturday and i'm desperate now .
I have been using Maya 2011 for a while now with relatively few real problems.
Recently I followed a modeling tutorial and everything was going great until it came to the application of materials and rendering. I applied materials of my own design and when I click on the Textured view icon in the perspective window, Maya freezes and nothing works...I have to open the task manager and terminate the process and re-start Maya.
It does not happen with other models or animations that I work on, just this one. I have looked at all my settings and there is nothing unusual happening as far as I can see!
If I render the model, it works fine in: Maya Software (No problem - looks great!), Maxwell Render (fine but very slow) and Maya Vector (Fine but obviously not what I want!).
If I try to render using Maya Hardware or VRAY it freezes up Maya and I have to terminate the program as before.
Once again other models and projects render fine in Maya Harware or VRAY
I am working back in forth between school, and my home student version of Maya. I just downloaded Maya 2012, and I can not open a file in 2011 that was created in 2012?? I already opened the option box under OPEN, and selected ignore version. And it still doesn't work. I never had this problem last semester with 2011 files, working with 2010 Maya.
Is there a way to have the new NEX tools window undocked when starting up Maya? I can undock it after Maya 2014 starts. But I'd like to have it this way on launch. Currently it reverts back.
So perhaps I'm missing something blindingly obvious, but in previous versions of Maya, I've been able to simply hit F8 and check the '?' icon to be able to go in and individually rotate Local Rotation Axis to be the way I want.
For some reason I cannot find how to do this now in 2011? I've only been able to do them using the auto-tool.
Looking for the steps I need to take to be able to manipulate the local rotation axis individually as I have in the past now?
Maya 2012 new features video shows that craft animation tools is new feature in Maya 2012, but i cannot find it inside Maya 2012, is the plugin integrated with Maya 2012 or need to install it after installation? Should i download craft animation tools for Maya 2012 or ?
It seems everytime I combine objects or do some weird deforming to objects the the Move Tool/Scale Tool/Rotate Tool drifts off into space and forces me to zoom out of what im working on to use the tools. This gets very bothersome when im moving a piece into just the right place and i need to be zoomed in. Im still quite new at Maya and 3D in general.
I'm having problem with this tool in maya 2012 it doesn't connect or do the red mark between 2 vertices but in maya 2013 it does the red mark between them but doesn't connect
i can't find this tool, it's a borehole importer.i am using civil3d 2012 with students ver.Where can i find Borehole import?Is this tool restricted for student ver.?
I am using subscription with Revit DB LINK, but Borehole importer can't use.
2. I have downloaded and applied the patch that was released.
I can open, edit, and export my files just like pre-Mavericks; however, when I go to import them into Premiere via Import, I get an import error:
"The importer encountered a generic error."
Oddly, when I look at the exported files in Finder (which, by the way, do not throw an error during the export process -- I have clean logs), I don't have a preview thumbnail like I did before. Now, it's a placeholder Quicktime logo. Hitting space bar to preview them only offers the information window, which show "Zero KB" as the file size... but in Finder, it clearly shows the correct file size.
Opening the files in Quicktime gives me a "converting" message before opening (these are .MOV files that shouldn't need converting at all), and exporting them from QT won't allow for an Alpha channel, ruining the transparency of the lower third.
importing FCP XML, I get the error "The importer reported a generic error", Why? How do I import correctly? I did file> import, but got the error I noted.
How can I make my lightroom 5 program the default importer of my photos? I have an iMac and the photos are loading onto ithe Photo program rather than Lightroom.
When I (am force) to use the Video Importer (because my clips are on a USB drive) it seems to find and select all videos on this USB drive. This is not what I want. I want to browse to the directory (on the USB drive) that I created. It contains the 6 video clips I want to import, not all 300 on the drive.

I've just purchased VS Pro X4 and installed it successfully (I think). My question is; the "Bonus Content" has been placed in the My Documents folder. If I remember correctly, (memory was affected quite seriously), I then import these into the library. What I'm not sure of is how to set things up to keep the subfolders in the library structure ie: There are three categories,Audio, Image and Video, then each of these has sub categories to organise the clips into subject. Is there any way to import and keep the structure intact.
I just got VS Pro X3 yesterday and installed it from the disk. All went fine, but there is a menu option on the disk for "Bonus Contents". When the menu option is clicked, it displays three sub-categories - Audio Clips, Image Clips, & Video Clips. When each of those sub-categories is clicked it opens a Windows Explorer window showing the contents of the folder on the install disk. I can't find anywhere that these clips got installed onto my PC.how do I install this Bonus Content, so that VS X3 can use it? If I just copy it to my hard drive, what folder to I place it into?
I have recently installed VideoStudio X4 Pro, and have been a very long time ULead VideoStudio user. I am looking for video content templates similar to the templates that came in the Ulead days... You know the video themes, templates (unable to paste a screen shoot) etc.
In VideoStudeo 11.5+ it came within a bonus content pack. Is there such a thing for X4?
How can I gain access to bonus backgrounds, graphics, etc in Adobe PSE 7 if Photoshop.com services have been shut down? I have been using the bonus backgrounds and such from Photoshop.com for several years to design Christmas cards for my photography clients. Now, my Photoshop.com membership doesn't exist, so I can't use those backgrounds and graphics. Is there a way to go around this or to gain access to those bonus items?
I have this assembly. I want to sort the browser, so I go to Assembly Tab, Productivity panel, Alpha Sort Component. a few seconds later, I get "Sort Failed". I am not in a weldment, not in locked view rep.
