Jun 21, 2013How can I make my lightroom 5 program the default importer of my photos? I have an iMac and the photos are loading onto ithe Photo program rather than Lightroom.

Lightroom :: How To Make Rejected Photos Default To Delete From Disk
May 28, 2011I love deleting my photos from both the catalog and my disk but the default "lit up" button on LR3 is only to delete from the catalog. Why to do that and then have an uncataloged picture sitting on their drive.
Is there any way to shift the "default" highlighted button to the delete from disk button so I can just press return when I go to delete my rejected pix?

May 9, 2012just purchased LR4 and PSE 10. Set up LR4 to use PSE 10 as the editor. I watched a Tim Gray video demonstrating this and followed the steps. When I attempted to send photos over to PSE through LR nothing happened.

My default catalog (so far I've been using only one) contains appx.33k photos and I can't import new shots. Yesterday I was shooting tethered camera and everything went fine. Today I wanted to import new files (from hdd) and noticed that "import button" is completly inactive. Dead. I set up a new catalog and managed to process todays photos but when I'm switching to previous catalog the "import" button is still dead.

Oct 27, 2012I have a Canon 60D, and it has all the different color profiles such as Landscape, Portrait, Standard, Faithful, etc. I noticed that the pictures I took look amazing in the camera's monitor, but when imported into Lightroom they looked kind of washed out, the colors were not as vibrant and the contrast was a bit flat. But rencently I discovered that in the Develop module there's an option for Profile, which by default is set to Adobe Standard, but it's a drop down list that also has all the camera's profiles, and once I select the one I used when taking that photo, it looks excellent, very similar to what I see in the camera.
It's not a terrible deal to apply it to one, then copy settings, go to grid, select all the photos taken with the same profile and then paste settings, but is there a way that Lightroom (4.2) can import the profile that was used for the photo and also apply it, instead of using Adobe standard by default?

Jun 21, 2013if there is a SIMPLE way to make a copy or duplicate of a photo in LR4. In otherwords, you have a photo image in one folder and you want to make a copy and move it to another folder or subfolder and that copy is identical in EVERY aspect to the original photo and can be edited, manipulated, etc. without affecting the original. I can find nothing on this subject - all I keep getting is this VIRTUAL COPY which is NOT like the original and cannot be moved without the original (Master) going along with it. What's the problem? Every image program I know of can do this. BTW this in on a Mac Lion (10.8.4).

Oct 24, 20131. I have updated my Mac Pro to Mavericks; and
2. I have downloaded and applied the patch that was released.
I can open, edit, and export my files just like pre-Mavericks; however, when I go to import them into Premiere via Import, I get an import error:
"The importer encountered a generic error."
Oddly, when I look at the exported files in Finder (which, by the way, do not throw an error during the export process -- I have clean logs), I don't have a preview thumbnail like I did before. Now, it's a placeholder Quicktime logo. Hitting space bar to preview them only offers the information window, which show "Zero KB" as the file size... but in Finder, it clearly shows the correct file size.
Opening the files in Quicktime gives me a "converting" message before opening (these are .MOV files that shouldn't need converting at all), and exporting them from QT won't allow for an Alpha channel, ruining the transparency of the lower third.
