Just started using Photomatix pro. Used autoimport to reimport into LR 3. Can only see Photomatix tiffs when switch to all photographs. This pulls up all 8000 plus photos rather than just the file folder in which I am working. Is there a way to get these tiffs to show in previous import photos?

I am trying to access a catalogue which had about 200 photos in it and i accessed daily for about a week, but it's now saying it is empty 'no photos on previous import'
I haven't moved the original files so it doesnt say anything is missing. I'm not getting any previews at all. I did back up but had since edited the photos.I dont want to have to edit them all over again so before i try to restore the catalogue with the unedited back up files, is there a way of finding my catalogue?
How do I rename photos on import without loosing the previous file names and captions?

When I go to import in lightroom, LR imports photos from both the SD and CF so I get duplicates ("Don't Import Duplicates" is irrelevant here, this applies only to photos already on the computer).How do I make LR import from just one card?
I use Auto Import to import my RAW files. Each time LR imports my files the Previous Import count number increases. Is there a way to reset this count so it shows a true reflection of the photos from my previous import session?
Correct me if I'm wrong but if you manually import files the Previous Import count number resets itself automatically. I've Googled this problem & this question has been asked before - all users were utilising Auto Import.
I am a relativcely new Lightroom user, and brand new to Lightroom 4. (I just upgraded after a hardware failure forced me to get a new computer.) My photos all came up missing -- mainly because the new computer assigned a different drive path to the external hard drive where most of my photos were stored. I spent much of yesterday locating 5000+ photos in my old catalog. Late in the day I tried to import the "located "photos into the new Lightroom 4 catalog. I am not sure what actually happened, but the photos do not currently appear in either the old catalog or the Lightroom 4 catalog. Fortunately, Lightroom does seem to know how to find them, because if I click "find previous process photos," the re-located photos are displayed. How do I get these photos incorporated safely in a catalog? Do I need to do take appropriate steps before conducting any other processing of photos?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery-time I synchronizing a folder, Lightroom always shows Previous Import for the found images.I think this is very annoying, since I manually have to point to the synchronized folder.When I synchronize a specific folder I expect Lightroom to stay on that specific synchronized folder!There should at least be an option for this in the preferences but I haven't found anything...
I'm currently following a longer Lightroom 5 course on Lynda and this don't occur on the authors mac when synchronizing occurs!Is this a windows-only issue or should I dig deeper into my manual?
So yesterday I was editing tons of photos, using the Previous Button once at a time to add the previous photo's adjustments to the next selected photo and everything was a great.
Today I hit Previous and the selected photo AND every photo after it gets adjusted.
What could I have possibly hit to change the behavior of the button?
My photos are showing up in previous imports but not in their folder.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhy I can't merge raw files in photomatix if I select them and take them into photomatix from lightroom. I can take raw files from bridge and merge them in photomatix. When I try this in Lightroom where I would rather do everything unless I need PS, it makes duplicate files in tif, psd, or jpg depending on how its preferences are set. Also when I select photos and tell it to merge them using photomatix the only option it allows me to select is edit a copy with lightroom adjustments. The other two are grayed out! Then I'm left with an HDR photo that I wanted but just a bunch of useless added files lightroom had to create to do it.
I can select the same raw files but use bridge and it will take the raw files into photomatix and I don't end up with a bunch of files I don't want. But then I have an HDR image that isn't imported into lightroom. Is there a work around or is this just the way it is?
Previously, my LR5 worked seamlessly with both the most current versions of Photomatix Pro and HDR Efex Pro 2. Then neither program worked. Photomatix would accept images from LR5 would process them sometimes but wouldn't send them back to LR5. Sometimes Photomatix would allert me that some of the exported images had the same data - not true. Sometimes 2+,1+, 0, 2- & 1- brackets were interpreted as having a 3+ image. With the Nik software I'd get messages like "Launching external application failed" or "The command 'HDR Efex Pro 2' is not currently available. I contacted Google and we determined that the Nik software worked when opened in Photoshop CS5. It appears that LR5 may be the culprit. I uninstalled and reinstalled LR5. Nothing changed. The Photomatix and Efex Pro 2 plugins reappeared without me doing anything so I wasn't sure I got a clean reinstall.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have all of my photos on an external hard drive named "Computer Backup." A new problem has developed. When I import photos, I very carefully select the folder into which I want to import. On the left side of the screen where it shows all of my folders, organized so nicely into "Computer Backup," a second "Computer Backup" shows up and that's where the photos get imported into. It's identical, shows the same space available/used.
So then I have to drag those files into the file where I acutally want them and that shows 0 pictures. When I do that, it says that they files already exist there.What happened!?
I'm trying to import pictures show in raw from my D700 into Lr, but it keeps giving me an "unsupported or damaged" error. This is the second time this happens, the first time I just gave up and imported as .JPG. I've tried importing them from the camera, and from a flashdrive. Neither worked. Running Lightroom 5 on OSX 10.8.4.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the Lightroom 4 trial program. After watching a tutorial on importing and organizing I imported a few photos from the hard drive on my laptop. All the functions of the program are working but the images of the photos don't show up.Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the program? Can I do that and still have the trial time of 30 days? Is there some other on/off thing I need to do to make this work?
View 7 Replies View RelatedLR3.6 started to fail to Syncronize folders. It also doesn't show only NEW photos on Importing fron hard drive, as it always has.
When I choose not to "show Import dialog" while synchronising a folder, it shows the correct number of new photos in a folder. But when the import starts there's a blank field and nothing happens. This can last for a whole day. Here is a screenshot.
The second problem is with Import.
When I start "Import" or mark "Show import dialog before importing" in syncing a folder it shows me all the photos, despite I choose "Add", "New Photos" and "Don't Import Suscected Duplicates".
I havent changed any preferances, it all just started to happen lately.
I'm using Raw Photo Processor plug-in for external developing, I thougt this might be the cause, but I've been using it for a long time, and the problems started several days ago.
In trying to import photos, first form a DVD and also from a CF card reader. The error message on my DVD says that there is an initialization error (OK, OK , the DVD with photos was created on another laptop, running on Windows Vista, so it may be a Read Only file). Aside from that, however, my CF card with photos does not even show up on LR3.
I have gone to System Preferences and changed the way I want CDs and DVDs to show. In both cases I changed it to "Open in LR3". Is that wrong?

I am trying to import pictures into Lightroom 5.2 and I am not able to. When I open the import window I don't get any thumbnails (pic below), but when i click on the images, I can see them fine. After I choose the file location and press import, it hangs up and never finishes. The picture of the Copy and Import Photos is attached too.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLR 5 is unable to show images of my photos when importing from my Cannon EOS 400. LR3 was able to. Now, in each image frame, I get a message "image not available". The images import correctly, and I can edit them, but I am not able to prescreen them, etc. prior to importation. I have not installed the EOS raw management software. The only other photo editing software I use is IrfanView, as a quick viewer only. I'm running Windows 7, on a Dell Quad core, with mobile NVidea card and plenty of memory.
