Lightroom :: 4 - Color Photos Show In B&W In Library After Import
Sep 3, 2012How can this possibly happen? The section Apply During Import in the import dialog screen has a field for Develop Settings, but this field says None, so nothing should happen to the photos during import. So why do the display in B&W in Library?

Apr 25, 2012Just started using Photomatix pro. Used autoimport to reimport into LR 3. Can only see Photomatix tiffs when switch to all photographs. This pulls up all 8000 plus photos rather than just the file folder in which I am working. Is there a way to get these tiffs to show in previous import photos?

Jun 3, 2012I have 9 copies of the same image with a different develop preset on each one so to compare. How do you get Lightroom to show the preset used on the image when viewing in lightroom and when you print, how do you get the preset name included on the print so you can tell which preset is on each print? At present I have to note the preset down and then write each preset name on each photo to show I know what was used.

Jul 31, 2013I'm trying to use the develop module in lr for the first time, I normally use Breezebrowser. in Library mode.I have quick develop options, but in the develop module nothing shows on the right hand side of the screen at all.I have went into presents and ticked all the boxes but the only way I have options to develop are from the library module and that does not show the straigten option which i want. I have hit the D button until its worn out. This has been like this since I installed lr5, I used lr3 previously but only as a method to export images to zenfolio did not use anything apart from import and export. What do I need to do to get the options for the Develop module to show on screen? I have also hit the T for Toolbar several hundred times with no difference.

Mar 3, 2013I have recently installed Lightroom 4. In the develop module, any adjustments will not show in the photo on the screen. The photo frequently will not load onto the screen. If I select crop mode, the photo disappears and the screen turns to gray. If I select before/after, the screen turns to gray. I have read the manual multiple times and have watched the video. I do not see any step that I am omitting or doing incorrectly. Should I uninstall & reinstall the program, or what?

Sep 30, 2013Recently bought and installed Lightroom5.2. Worked well, whereas since yesterday its not showing any files in the Import screen. So its getting so difficult to import any of the files from Canon 5D MarkIII or Canon 450D or Desktop folders.
However LR4 is opening all the images or files to import. When I tried it in LR5.2 its not showing any files. Tried all possible means based on the discussions in adobe. Still its not working.
Lightroom :: Import Bar Across Middle Of Screen
Feb 19, 2014When clicking on Import, instead of the usual tool bar across the top of the screen, as I've seen in many videos, I get a very large bar across the middle of the screen. There probably is a toggel somewhere that allows you toswitche back and forth between the large bar and the normal one at the top. I have been watching a number of videos trying to learn LR but have not come across this issue/option. Currently, I have always moved my photos into a folder on an external drive and then inport to LR. Is that the problem?

Jan 3, 2012I have all of my photos on an external hard drive named "Computer Backup." A new problem has developed. When I import photos, I very carefully select the folder into which I want to import. On the left side of the screen where it shows all of my folders, organized so nicely into "Computer Backup," a second "Computer Backup" shows up and that's where the photos get imported into. It's identical, shows the same space available/used.
So then I have to drag those files into the file where I acutally want them and that shows 0 pictures. When I do that, it says that they files already exist there.What happened!?

This is the second time this happens, the first time I just gave up and imported as .JPG. I've tried importing them from the camera, and from a flashdrive. Neither worked. Jan 15, 2013I downloaded the Lightroom 4 trial program. After watching a tutorial on importing and organizing I imported a few photos from the hard drive on my laptop. All the functions of the program are working but the images of the photos don't show up.Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the program? Can I do that and still have the trial time of 30 days? Is there some other on/off thing I need to do to make this work?

Mar 2, 2013LR3.6 started to fail to Syncronize folders. It also doesn't show only NEW photos on Importing fron hard drive, as it always has.
When I choose not to "show Import dialog" while synchronising a folder, it shows the correct number of new photos in a folder. But when the import starts there's a blank field and nothing happens. This can last for a whole day. Here is a screenshot.
The second problem is with Import.
When I start "Import" or mark "Show import dialog before importing" in syncing a folder it shows me all the photos, despite I choose "Add", "New Photos" and "Don't Import Suscected Duplicates".
I havent changed any preferances, it all just started to happen lately.
I'm using Raw Photo Processor plug-in for external developing, I thougt this might be the cause, but I've been using it for a long time, and the problems started several days ago.
Lightroom :: CF Card Reader For Photo Import Does Not Show?
Mar 19, 2012In trying to import photos, first form a DVD and also from a CF card reader. The error message on my DVD says that there is an initialization error (OK, OK , the DVD with photos was created on another laptop, running on Windows Vista, so it may be a Read Only file). Aside from that, however, my CF card with photos does not even show up on LR3.
I have gone to System Preferences and changed the way I want CDs and DVDs to show. In both cases I changed it to "Open in LR3". Is that wrong?

Lightroom :: Import Doesn't Work - All Thumbnails Won't Show Up
Nov 9, 2013I am trying to import pictures into Lightroom 5.2 and I am not able to. When I open the import window I don't get any thumbnails (pic below), but when i click on the images, I can see them fine. After I choose the file location and press import, it hangs up and never finishes. The picture of the Copy and Import Photos is attached too.

Nov 5, 2012Is there a way to view exif info of each photo on the LR 4.2 import screen. I'd like to view Exif data before making the decision to import the capture but can't figure out how to do this. Ideally it would appear as a 'tooltip' when hovering over the image in gridview, or, when looking at a single image it using the "I" key should display image info like it does in other modules of LR4. Are there any plugins that could do that?

Aug 18, 2013LR 5 is unable to show images of my photos when importing from my Cannon EOS 400. LR3 was able to. Now, in each image frame, I get a message "image not available". The images import correctly, and I can edit them, but I am not able to prescreen them, etc. prior to importation. I have not installed the EOS raw management software. The only other photo editing software I use is IrfanView, as a quick viewer only. I'm running Windows 7, on a Dell Quad core, with mobile NVidea card and plenty of memory.
