This video from Autodesk describing the procedural texture generation "Substance" refers to a "Substance Bonus Pack". This doesn't appear to exist anywhere. Is this something that is going to be added to Product Enhancements for subscriptions? Or is this part of the 2012 release that I'm just unable to locate?
View 9 RepliesI have been experimenting with the grass substance in a mental ray render and find I can only get rid of the scintillating flicker at ridiculous sampling (64x16)
I am currently using a z-depth pass and using that to blur the background in composite. Is there a way of treating a substance texture like a bitmap and getting it to blur as it goes further into the distance.
The Substance Maps are not rendering with the NVIDIA Mental Ray renderer in MAX 2013.
The maps display nicely in the view port and render with the Default Scanline renderer and the Quicksilver renderer. It also doesn't render with the NVIDIA iray renderer. The same Substance material setup renders fine with the Mental Ray renderer in MAX 2012. What's UP!!
I just installed VS X4. whats the difference between the Content pack and the Bonus Pack?
The Content pack is obvious as they showed up in the "Samples" Library however cant find any documentation to tell me what the Bonus pack is.
I installed Bonus Tools 2014 for Maya 2013 on my Mac with OS 10.8.4.
Then I launched Maya. Â I didn't see the 'bonus tools' menu item up top.
I compared my menu to the one here. The one in the video has it in the top menu, but mine does not.
I found the bonus tools mel script in the shared sub folders for autodesk, so I know it's installed.
I have it installed, I have the plugin "loaded" and "auto-loaded", but when I try to import a .3ds file, there is no geometry or anything. I see "Transform1" in the Outliner, and I don't really see any errors.
I tried playing around with windows, hit "show all" on everything I can find.
I just loaded the bonus tools for 2014 Mac....I looked in the plug-in manager and the .3ds plug-in is missing in action...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI created an iassembly with several dozen configurations, and I need to see all the layers in the BOM. Â I can't do that with an iassembly. Â (This is where I learned this unfortunate truth.)
I reopen the 2d, the BOM reset itself to one layer, and any editing had dissappeared. Â (I need to make all titles of subassemblies not visible, and reorder a few components.)
If I drop a configuration in its own assembly, I can show all layers. Â If I use Design Assistant to copy the first drawing/assembly for another configuration, the views update just fine, but the BOM still references the original file's assembly. I can delete it and drop a new one, but I have to edit the BOM again.
If I drop the iassembly into an assembly by itself, I can't get the BOM to cooperate. Â I can set the Structured Properties to all all levels, and expand subassemblies, but it doesn't save. Â I can open BOM properties in the assembly, and they're all collapsed again. Â In the drawing, the Level is set to All Levels, but only the iassembly is displayed.
Are there any ways to change what the BOM is referencing? Â I'd rather not drop in a new one as the BOM would have to be ediited for each new print, and I have dozens to do...
 I've attached a screen shot in hopes it will inspire.  I will be needing around 200 prints of all the variations of this assembly.  It will vary in diameter, length, and a few components are iparts that change size. Â
The more automated/streamlined the documentation, the better.
Within a block I have a attribute definition and a textfield which refers to the value of the attribute definition.
The value of the attribute definition displays neatly as it's supposed to but the textfield gets the prefix  w0.6000;
This Prefix refers to the textwidth I know that much but I can't get rid of it!
The peculiar thing is that if I don't use the "multiple lines" option in the attribute definition the problem disappears.
I really need to use this option because I wanna apply a textmask to it....
I've just purchased VS Pro X4 and installed it successfully (I think). My question is; the "Bonus Content" has been placed in the My Documents folder. If I remember correctly, (memory was affected quite seriously), I then import these into the library. What I'm not sure of is how to set things up to keep the subfolders in the library structure ie: There are three categories,Audio, Image and Video, then each of these has sub categories to organise the clips into subject. Is there any way to import and keep the structure intact.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got VS Pro X3 yesterday and installed it from the disk. All went fine, but there is a menu option on the disk for "Bonus Contents". When the menu option is clicked, it displays three sub-categories - Audio Clips, Image Clips, & Video Clips. When each of those sub-categories is clicked it opens a Windows Explorer window showing the contents of the folder on the install disk. I can't find anywhere that these clips got installed onto my PC.how do I install this Bonus Content, so that VS X3 can use it? If I just copy it to my hard drive, what folder to I place it into?

How can I gain access to bonus backgrounds, graphics, etc in Adobe PSE 7 if Photoshop.com services have been shut down? I have been using the bonus backgrounds and such from Photoshop.com for several years to design Christmas cards for my photography clients. Now, my Photoshop.com membership doesn't exist, so I can't use those backgrounds and graphics. Is there a way to go around this or to gain access to those bonus items?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter installing SP3 for XP I encountered problems while opening files in Photoshop. It takes 10x times more to open GIF, JPEG, PNG and PSD files than before. While it opens, Photoshop seems to freeze and it takes up to 20 seconds until a 10x10 pixel file or a 10MB PSD file is opened. So size doesn't matter.

I use to open up any image the default use to be my PSCS3, Now I have patched to the Service Pack 1 the default is Microsoft Picture manager.
I right clicked on the image, chose open with>choose a default program and at the top
Photoshop was not their just Paint, Picture Viewer etc.
So I clicked on browse c:Programs>Adobe>Photoshop CS3>Photoshop (the Photoshop icon at the very bottom). Then highlight the icon, Photoshop appears in the file name, then pressed open but absolutey nothing happens.
I go back into the other programs and recommended programs but Photoshop is not their and my images still load in Microsoft Picture Mangaer.
However if I open up PSC3 normally it is perfect
I have been using the full version now for about 6 weeks and its hopeless. I can't do anything without it crashing, oh i can open it Thank god i have CS3 .. it works fine doing all the same work. If adobe ppls read this .... Can i ask what the you are doing? - i can't believe i paid lots of $$ for this .. Photoshop CS4 is very very flakey. in the last 24 hours i have had 7 crashes from CS4 .. not one from CS3 .... Total crashes using CS4 over two machines would exceed 50-60 crashes now, it seems it cannot even make an action without crashing 5 times. Can i have a refund or can you appease me and tell me i don't have the correct service pack, not develop software for adobe and fix there problems by been on the phone to them 24/7. I would even be keen to hear I'm not alone and this is a flop.

View 7 Replies View RelatedHaving learned the drill with VS Pro X3, I went right to the "Do More" tab to download Extra Templates, Font Packs, and Title Packs after completing my new VS Pro X4 installation. Almost all of the "Free" packs downloaded and installed as expected without incident. (The word INSTALLED now appears under each successfully installed pack in the list of downloaded elements which originally showed a button reading DOWNLOAD NOW.)
However, for some unexplained reason, when I click my mouse on the DOWNLOAD NOW button for Font Pack 2, I see a very brief busy icon, followed by no noticeable response from the server. No error message is given.
I have tried closing VS Pro X4 and then relaunching the app before attempting to download Font Pack 2. I have tried closing VS Pro X4 and then rebooting my PC before relaunching the app and attempting to download Font Pack 2. Neither tactic succeeded.
I got great results with X4, until it installed the service pack this week.. Now i cannot render an mp4 without long sections 'staggering' - like a strobing effect on the entire render, the picture lurches as it plays, and things like VLC hang when scanning thru the file..
Also, the framrate i set now has little relation to the actual outcome..
The piece i am rendering fails at a different point each time - the staggering starts and thats that, framrate drops to about 2fps - utterly useless..
I have tried removing the install and re-installing, but when i do this i can clearly see by 'check for updates' that there are no updates, which means SP2 is surviving the uninstall.
I have tried every combination of every setting for days, this is a new problem directly related to the service pack..
Where can i get a manifest of the files in the service packs? i'm going to have to remove them all by hand and start again..
I am trying to get AutoCAD LT 2002 working in Windows 7. I did searching on these boards and from what I read the solution is to install the AutoCAD LT 2002 service pack (upgrading AutoCAD to verison 44) and then instal the gedit 3 compatibility patch (upgrading it from verison 44 to 47.
The problem I have is that when I run the service pack installation program (K030ltss1_K044_aclt_unl.exe) I get a message that my installation is already up to date. However when I check the version in autoCAd itself it says that it's still at version 30.

I have a number of the Topaz Labs plug-ins and have recently downloaded and installed D x O film pack. I cannot get PS5 to recognize all the filters at once.

When I go to the preferences/additional plug ins window, I can get PS5 to "see" either topaz labs directory or the DxO directory. What do I have to do to get the filters drop down menu to see all my installed plug ins?
sometimes when working with photos on removable drives in ACR and then later in PS I forget to first write the raw files onto its final destination.I understand why this happens to me. One isn't sure whether the raw-file is at all worth it and then finally everything is done and one now better should make sure that PS finds its stuff when editing the psd anew. At least given one brings in raws as as smart object from ACR....

My question is: Is there maybe a "pack and go"-script around which allows gathering all project-files, best on open projects at once ?The script looked for the raw, and the sidecar with settings.Then the script simply asked for a common storage-location, together with the psd.
This will not install. It cannot find PSPPro.msi and neither can I using search. I do have Service pack 2 installed. Everytime I open the program it wants me to update. I am using Windows 8.

I've read that it causes problems and I've read where it doesn't. As of right now, without the patch, my version is 13.6.2.36 , I think with the patch it will be .69, or is there another patch (or version) floating around out there that is more stable?
Also, under Settings>Performance the "Use Hardeware Encoder acceleration" is grayed out. How to check that thing off and what hardware are you using to get it to show up?

I believe I have the correct file for the product but I do not know were to go from here.
When using pack and go, is it possible to select several idw files at the same time? The some of the idw files is using the same parts, but many is not using the same parts. The parts that I want to copy by using pack and go is not in vault.
