I'm using Lightroom 5, and was wondering if there's a quick way to display all items in a stack in Survey View.Expanding the stackSelecting all items in the stack.Switching to survey view.I was wondering if there was a quick way to click on the stack and get it to open in Survey View.
Failing that I was wondering if I could automatically select all the items in a stack.
I couldn't see the rating stars under each photo in Survey mode; I only see the flag status. Now, it's probably something I did, like hitting a shortkey or something... but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to bring back that visual information. After searching online + fiddling around with the settings.
PS. Lightroom 4.3RC (why 4.3 RC, because I'm one of those plagged with a super slow Lightroom in develop mode, especially with my D800 files! I'm crossing my fingers with each RC update that the software will be faster... )
When I am in Survey View and hit the Z key, some of the previews are blurry. The same thing happens in Grid View. However, in Loupe View, the images are fine when I the 'Z' key. Using Survey View would make things go faster when making my picks.
I tried rendering 1:1 but the returns a mesage that says renders are up to date and rendering was done.
take jpg + RAW pics with my DSLR, for the most part the jpgs come out fine but now and again I like to tinker with the RAW's. So I like to keep both incase I'm inclined to tinker in the future.
To keep my photo catalogue looking neat and tidy I stack the jpg and RAW so only the single image shows. I can obviously select both images and the select stack, or I can select a whole load of images and select auto stack which then suggests stacks based on photo likeness. This is OK sometimes, but often many images are of the same subject and I don't want 10 stacked, just the 2 same files in jpg + RAW. Is there a way to automatically stack the same file number jpg + RAW?
When I open a newly imported RAW for the first time my computer thinks for about a second and transforms the colours. On some picutres it can hardly be seen, but on others the chance is huge and I have not found a way to bring it back to more or less the colours of the neighbouring Jpegs. It also seems to be irreversible within Lightroom. I hope this is not normal, as the colours usually look much less pleasant after the transformation.

- I have already disactivated the automatic Levels in the import settings
- I shoot RAW with a Pentax K-7, having set the RAW in Adobe standards

View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open a RAW file into Photoshop CS5 from LR3, it automatically creates and saves a PSD or TIFF file. Is there a way to stop lightroom from doing this? When I used LR2, I saved these files only if I choose to. I always convert my files to jpg after I'm done editing in PS and don't need these huge files hanging around.

If I go to Edit and choose "Select none", they are deselected for a a few brief seconds and then highlighted again. If I go to another photo, it leaves one of the previous photos selected and also selects the second photo. I've tried restartting Lightroom, restarting Windows 8.1, all to no avail.

I am trying to rotate a survey in layout view so that it will print at 1:1000 on an A0 piece of paper as the survey is orientated NEW. When I try and rotate it in viewport so that it is aligned to the paper and then go back to model space the co-ordinates have changed. It is a important that the co-ordinates remain correct in model space as this is a real world hydrographic survey.

When I upload the data into autocad i can see the node points (+) and text in the top view. When switch to look at the points from the front view (to produce an elevation), the text and points appear as a flat line, although the insertion point of the node/text is still correct. I need to find a way of rotating the text and points so they are visible in this view. I will then flatten the points and cut them to the top view to produce a 2d elevation.

I make heavy use of image stacks. After some time I want to clean up my catalog. Therefore I'm looking for a "reduce stack" feature like in "Photoshop Elements Organizer" that keeps the top image only and deletes all other images of the stack.
Is this feature available in Lightroom 5.2?
There is an image that keeps opening automatically when I open CS6 Photoshop? Why is this happening for only that one image? How do I stop it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use Aperture but am taking a look at Lightroom. In Aperture, if I have a stack of photos in a project and drag it to an album (similar to a Lightroom collection), the entire stack goes into the album. But in Lightroom, if I drag a stack to a collection, only the top photo goes into the collection. If I expand the stack, select all the photos, and drag them to the collection, then of course they are all in the collection but they become unstacked.
Is there a way to drag a stack to a collection in Lightroom, have the entire stack go into the collection, and have the photos remain stacked? I have tried modifier keys such as Option and Command while dragging the stack but that seems to ahve no effect.
Is there a reason, when working in the Library module, that I would not be able to stack? Have images in a Smart Collection that is built based on keywords and lack of "rejection". When I highlight a group of images and attempt to Stack, the all of the options are greyed out.

I recently upgraded from CS4 to CS5. I imported some of the actions I had created without problem.
I use one for sharpening with the following steps:
1. Convert to Lab Mode
2. Select Lightness Channel
3. Open Unsharp Mask Dialogue Box
4. Convert back to RGB Mode
The "Dialogue" box is correctly toggled to "on" in Step # 3
However when I execute the Action, the Dialogue Box for USM doesn't automatically pop up, as it did in CS4 - but if I click anywhere on the screen, it then does.
I tried recreating the same action in CS5, but it has the same problem - the Dialogue Box for USM doesn't open by itself, and only does so after I click anywhere on the screen.
This happens both on my Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Desktop, and a new Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Laptop.

In PS CS3 there was a preference setting to automatically open Bridge when Photoshop was launched.
This setting seems to be absent in CS5.
Is there any way to get both apps to launch simultaneously?

I would love to see an analysis of the meta data to create smart stacks suitable for panoramic merging or HDR depending on how they were shot. Then the next logical request would be for a Process the Stacks in Photoshop, thus automating this process.

I have a large catalog of images I have touched up to prepare for use.
Today when I loaded the catalog, every image has a 'reset' at the top of this History stack. This is undoing all my modifications, but all the operations I did perform are still listed under that.I want to remove the 'reset' from the top of History of every image in this catalog so I get back to what I had already done.
A long time ago, when I was using Photoshop Elements I found a plug-in that made it possible to work with stacks as a unit.
If I labeled the top image in the stack that label was applied to all the images in the stack; then when I sorted the images, the stack remained in tact; instead of just the top image, with the label showing up. I could also label the top image in a stack with flaga and, for example quickly delete all the image with an "X". Otherwise is seems the only option is to open each stack, by Ctrl-clicking the number in the upper left corner, that opens the stack; with all the images selected, then click the star labels I want to apply to all the images in the stack.

Now I can't open or save files without it closing itself. I would uninstall and reinstall it but i lost my code. I have to make vector images for a couple of clients of mine!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded my Elements 9 to Elements 12. I used to be able to open a raw file directly into the raw editor in Elements 9. With Elements 12 I click to open the raw file with Elements 12 but Elements opens into the basic editor with no picture opening. I then have to select Open Camera Raw from the file menu and select the photo again. The photo then opens. Is there a setting i can change so that elements 12 opens directly into the raw editor?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter deleting the top thumbnail in a stack, the entire stack disappears. The remaining stack-thumbnails reappear after Lightroom is restarted. I use Win7 and Lightroom 4.2. Donno if this issued occurred with v4.1. This issue does not occur with all stacks.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 28 photographs taken sequentialy but not at same intervals; they are part of a collection. I proceed to select all of them and choose "Stacking-Auto stack by capture time..." from the context menu and choose time between stacks as 0:01:00 (one minute)
However I find the capture time of photos in any one stack exceed 1 minute!! For instance, these are the capture times of photos in a single stack:
8:19:12PM, 8:19:25PM, 8:19:43PM, 8:20:24PM, 8:21:19PM, 8:21:45PM
We can clearly see that the capture times between members of this stack are not within 1 minute.
For no reason that I can think of, When I click on a single image in Bridge to preview or to try and select multiple images to load as layers or merge to HDR, the first image clicked opens in ACR. How can i Stop this?
