Last week one of my Lightroom databases had a size of 400MB. After I installed some new hardware components last weekend I continued to work in that same database and three days later the size had increased up to 800MB. I didn't import any new images. I just worked on several files, added some Adjustment Brushes and created 1:1 previews for a small part of the images in this catalog.
What is causing this increase in file size? Which info is actually stored inside these lrcat-files? What about the History, where is that info stored? Can I create a new catalog from scratch and keep the settings and changes, using Export as Catalog?
I don't understand why a video increased in size so that I cannot burn a DVD. The video was originally a 1 hour 26 min TV show on a VHS tape. I used a VCR/DVD combo unit to create a DVD, and created a MPEG2 on a hard drive using a conversion program. The size of the DVD is 2.89GB and the size of the MPEG2 is 2.85GB.
I imported the MPEG2 into a library folder in VS Pro X5, and dragged it into the video track. A right click to look at Properties in both the library and video track shows a size of 2,998,518KB, which is 2.86GB. I went straight to Share without adding titles or anything to the video. I selected Create a Disc and took the basic defaults for the menu in Share and didn't edit any of the menu text. When I get to the Output section, the Required/Available Disc Space is in red and has the following information:
5.08GB/4.38GB (5.45GB)/(4.71GB)
Where did I get the 2.23GB in video growth? I saw a post from Jan 2012 that mentioned data rates for a 60 min. and 120 min. DVD. My Properties shows a data rate of Variable bit rate (Max 6124kbps). Could this be a reason for the growth? If so, how do I change it?
I am a newbie - so sorry if this is a dumb question. But when I open a JPG file with CS3 it will make it very large. For example - when I open a 2.75MB JPG file taken from a digital camera, CS3 somehow increases the file to 14 MB. When I open a 2MB JPG image sent from a graphic designer, CS3 shows the image as 31MB.
I am working on a x5 and file size seems to be very less approx 553kb when saved but when made a conversion to 12 version it is increasing to 24mb... how may sought this out by keeping the file size low..
Also i wonder what made the file size to increase so much.i converted all fonts to curves too.. decreased the resolution and tried but nothing seemed to decrease the file size.
I am using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009.I have a project files suddenly file size becomes @ 10 MB after saving. Even Titlblock size is 7 MB.
I had installed a latest update over my system as well i tried to clean a file as per below thread. URL....After doing this file size reduced to KB. But if open it again and saved the file size go to MB.
Why does the image processor increase the filesize of pictures? I'm trying to resize a bunch of jpg's which are between 5-10kb, and when put through the image processor to save as jpg's with a setting of 0 quality, they come out as about 25kb each, even though the dimensions are smaller.
The issue that I'm having really resides in AutoCAD 2012 after the file has been opened and saved in Civil 3D 2012.
For example, I can use AutoCAD to open a new or existing drawing that has never been used in Civil 3D. I'll run two audits, purge all twice, purge regapps, reset the scale list, then save the drawing. If I open it in AutoCAD again, the file size remains the same.
If I open it in Civil 3D, the file size increases that one time, which is fine. No matter how many times I open it and run the above commands, the file size doesn't change any more than 1 Kb while in Civil 3D.
BUT if I were then to open that same drawing in AutoCAD after closing it out of Civil 3D, then save - it will increase the file size by almost 100 Kb. No matter how much I run the previously mentioned commands the file size will not decrease in size. Additionally, every time I open that particular drawing in AutoCAD again and save it, it increases by another 100Kb+/-. These files are not very large, but I have wblocked some out to save more than 10 times the space.
I've seen similar posts, but they were regarding older versions and seem to be a little different than the problem we are experiencing.
I am working on the AutoCAD customization and doing the same by VB.Net & C#.Net. But I just want to know the difference as mentioned below:
1. Insert Block In AutoCAD
Using VB.Net without using DataBase services..Only 1 statement is required to Insert the Block objAcadDocument.ModelSpace.InsertBlock(Required Arguments are here) Using C#.Net with DataBase services
There are many statments are there to insert only 1 block..Like Start Transaction, Lock the document, Get the Object Id Block etc...So my quetion is that when I have to use DataBase services and when not
what is the advantage of doing customization using DataBase services rather than go for wihout DataBase services.?
I reseted my illustrator settings because it was having some problems, the settings I reset was changed everything back to pixels. I am working with small graphics that need to fit within 20x20 pixels
the problem is, when I resize something, example: 1x5, and I up the 1 to 2, it will increase it to 2 pixels from the middle of the object making it's coordinates ?.5 instead of a round number. I do not want to turn on snap anything because it worked just fine before I reseted my settings, it doesn't show it as being off at .5 but when I select multiple objects that the coordinates are at whole numbers, combines they make a number .5.
What I want - instead of the object increasing, when I up its size, from the middle of the object, I want it to increase down and to the right, keeping it's coordinates the same.
After importing 48 photos into a large collection, 46,000+ photos, and reviewing in the Library module, LR 3.6 crashed and reported a database error. It suggested repairing the database, but could not. The next window suggested an Adobe Technote, but the link was broken. I have a Dell Dimension E510, w/ 4 GB RAM, Pentium D 2.8 GHz, reporting 3.62 RAM and running XP Pro, Version 2002, SP3. All my HDDs have at least 80 GB of free space w/ the one I was working on with 464 GB of free space.
Currently using Capture NX and looking for somthing little more featured. LR3 and Capture NX2 are on my list. I like Capture NX becuase I am one who likes to be in fulll control of my picture management. I download my NEFS to a folder, convert to JPEG and save them in another folder and then transfer the jpegs to manually created folders on a NAS. Will LR3 control me by creating and maaging it's own picture database or do I have the ability to manage pictures like I'm currently doing?
Where in the SQLite database is the "Title" field? I have analyzed the database structure (after linking a copy of the LRCAT to MS-Access via ODBC), and found practically all fields of interest. I even managed to convert the shutter speed and aperture data (which are logarithmic) to useful values. But I did not find the "Title" field in the DB. I found that any entry made into "Title" is written into the picture file's EXIF data but I cannot believe that LR uses that as the only storage for the picture title.
Note: I do not use the database link to change any data in the LR database. I use this only to more effective browse through the picture data
PS: If the Title field is not currently in the LRCAT database I would suggest to add it. It does not make sense in my opinion to have 99% of the picture data inside LR, and rely on the picture file's EXIF data for one or two items.
I have a lot of photos in files and events in iPoto and Aperture. Would like to conso;idate all my photos inLightroom Master Photo file with those files and events as folders.
I'm going on vacation and want to work on adding keywords, deleting unwanted pictures, and other organizing. s there a way to do this without copying all my pictures (not enough room on the laptop for that.). Lightroom 4.4
I have attach one drawing if you open and copy this from one place to place then dimension is automatically increases. can i know how this increase or what type of this dimension it is.
My picture’s original size was 108.2 MB in tiff. After I developed my photo in Lightroom and exported the new image, the file decrease to 50MB in tiff. Why did Lightroom decrease the file size to more than half the original size? Is there a way to increase the exportation file size to that I may develop a large size print?
Ive been using 3DS Max for about 3 hours now, and seem to be picking up on it very quickly (Props to everyone involved for user friendliness). Im just puzzled about one thing. In my perspective viewport, panning and zooming happen realy fast, zooming close is impossible, as it zooms through and past the object with one scroll-notch. All zooming in other viewports are just fine, its only perspective that I'm having an issue with.
I saw a video of some guy making a texture for a 3d model in photoshop and time to time he switched to a window where he could see and manipulate the 3d model with the unfinished texture and no, he didn't save the project and apply it everytime. I was wondering if that was a plug-in or something like that.
I need to do for a WEB many PNG icons (aprox. 70x70 pixels e/a). There will be like 20 of them loaded in the WEB at the same time. which kind of compression I should pick when I save as a PNG: "None/Fast" or "Smallest/Slow", and "Interlaced" or notMy main concern is that the WEB page should load them the fastest possible.
I've been using VS 11.5 Plus for several years with no problem. Recently, I received a new camcorder, a Sony HDR-CX305 which produces .MTS files. I can open the files with VLC and Windows Media Player. For editing in VS, I chose to use proxy files. When I put the files on the timeline and play them in project mode, everything is fine (display & sound). But in clip mode, the clip is played really fast, less than 1 second, which makes difficult the editing.. I tried with smart proxy disabled : same problem.
I have a new camera which records in AVCHD format. I have transferred the video files from my camera to the computer. I have compiled a project on Video Studio ProX2. When I playback each clip they play at normal speed. When I playback the project before copying onto a disc the playback is very fast. I have also got as far as sharing the project onto a disc but when I click on preview the playback is again very fast. I see that I can slow down the playback but this also slows down any speech on the video.
I have used Video studio PRox for a couple of years now with great success with an old Sony Handycam but I must need to do something to the new format to play it back at normal speed.
I have some images lots of them(like over 200) and I want the fastest easiest way to remove the background and keep the look of the text(ie nothing gets lost from it).
I am going to save them as transparent gifs but like I said I don't know how to do them very fast.
