Lightroom :: Can LR Filter By Exposure Bias

Mar 24, 2014

I don't see it listed in the metadata options although LR knows it exists.  (I don't see metering mode either)   Is exposure bias really not a filter option?

Lightroom :: How To Find Images With A Certain Exposure Bias

Sep 1, 2013

I have a group of about 500 images I took yesterday.  I want to find all images out of that group that have a certain exposure compensation (exposure bias).  I am trying to create a smart collection of these but am seeming to have problems doing so.  I have set up the following criteria: Date = 2013-31-13; and Searchable EXIF = 1/3.  I've tried other variations.  The best I can do is get 17 images put into the smart collection, but only some of them have an Exposure Bias of 1/3; others have a bias of 0.  I know I have quite a few more with exposure bias of 1/3.

How can I do this....again, I want to find all images with a certain exposure bias, either 0, 1/3, or 2/3.

I have LR 4.4.

AutoCAD .NET :: Difference While Doing Customization With Database / Without Database Services

Aug 6, 2013

I am working on the AutoCAD customization and doing the same by VB.Net & C#.Net. But I just want to know the difference as mentioned below:

1. Insert Block In AutoCAD

Using VB.Net without using DataBase services..Only 1 statement is required to Insert the Block objAcadDocument.ModelSpace.InsertBlock(Required Arguments are here) Using C#.Net with DataBase services

There are many statments are there to insert only 1 block..Like Start Transaction, Lock the document, Get the Object Id Block etc...So my quetion is that when I have to use DataBase services and when not

what is the advantage of doing customization using DataBase services rather than go for wihout DataBase services.?

Lightroom :: Database Error - Cannot Be Repaired - 3.6 Windows XP

Oct 30, 2012

After importing 48 photos into a large collection, 46,000+ photos, and reviewing in the Library module, LR 3.6 crashed and reported a database error. It suggested repairing the database, but could not. The next window suggested an Adobe Technote, but the link was broken. I have a Dell Dimension E510, w/ 4 GB RAM, Pentium D 2.8 GHz, reporting 3.62 RAM and running XP Pro, Version 2002, SP3. All my HDDs have at least 80 GB of free space w/ the one I was working on with 464 GB of free space.

Lightroom :: 3 - Creating And Managing Own Picture Database

Jan 11, 2012

Currently using Capture NX and looking for somthing little more featured. LR3 and Capture NX2 are on my list. I like Capture NX becuase I am one who likes to be in fulll control of my picture management. I download my NEFS to a folder, convert to JPEG and save them in another folder and then transfer the jpegs to manually created folders on a NAS. Will LR3 control me by creating and maaging it's own picture database or do I have the ability to manage pictures like I'm currently doing?

Lightroom :: Database Size Increases Fast

Aug 25, 2010

Last week one of my Lightroom databases had a size of 400MB. After I installed some new hardware components last weekend I continued to work in that same database and three days later the size had increased up to 800MB. I didn't import any new images. I just worked on several files, added some Adjustment Brushes and created 1:1 previews for a small part of the images in this catalog.

What is causing this increase in file size? Which info is actually stored inside these lrcat-files? What about the History, where is that info stored? Can I create a new catalog from scratch and keep the settings and changes, using Export as Catalog?

Lightroom :: SQLite Database Is The Title Field?

Jan 1, 2014

Where in the SQLite database is the "Title" field? I have analyzed the database structure (after linking a copy of the LRCAT to MS-Access via ODBC), and found practically all fields of interest. I even managed to convert the shutter speed and aperture data (which are logarithmic) to useful values.  But I did not find the "Title" field in the DB. I found that any entry made into "Title" is written into the picture file's EXIF data but I cannot believe that LR uses that as the only storage for the picture title.

Note: I do not use the database link to change any data in the LR database. I use this only to more effective browse through the picture data

PS: If the Title field is not currently in the LRCAT database I would suggest to add it. It does not make sense in my opinion to have 99% of the picture data inside LR, and rely on the picture file's EXIF data for one or two items.

Lightroom :: How To Add A Filter (red) For Another Location

Dec 6, 2011

I have a large number of images from a trip ( 10,000+) . So far I have colored coded 2 locations with blue & green. Now obviously I can filter by either color & view those images. Is there a way that I can see all uncoded images. That is filter out the blue & green so I can browse the uncoded images only?  For example I would like to add a filter (red) for another location then not show the blue green or red.

Just for your info I do this as a gross filtering prior to ratings or collections. I am thinking that this would allow me to whittle down the images & make it easier to go thru. Using LR 3.5

Lightroom :: Filter By Portion Of Date?

Jan 30, 2012

I'm searching for a way to see only photos that were shot at a specific date but any year. More specifically I'm thinking of a "today in history" kind of filter that would let me see photos that were shot on current date throughout all the years. Is there any filter option/plugin or anything else available that would let me achieve that? Doesn' matter if I have to type in a date or if it is automatic. I have tried text search but it seems I can't find partial dates that way.

Using Lightroom 3 (latest version).

Lightroom :: How To Filter On Images That Have Been Modified

Nov 28, 2011

I'm looking to filter on images that have been modified since the import.  The modification could be within lightroom, or external.  I have a filter setup for external files, but I can't figure out what filter to use to show files that have been modified inside lightroom.

Hopefully my request makes sense.  I find I am making more changes in Lightroom (3.5) these days, and would like to filter (without setting flags/stars/colors/...) on images that I have already modified.  Is this possible?

Lightroom :: Cannot Search By Metadata In Filter Bar?

Mar 7, 2012

This is upsetting. I try to use the Filter Bar in LR4 to search by metadata, and I keep getting "No Photos Match The Filter", even though the Filter Bar is telling me that 108 photos match the filter.

I have All Photographs selected, and the Filter Bar says 108 photos match "Buffalo Zoo", but there are 0 file types (!!!!), 0 lenses (!!!!) and 0 cameras available in this search. How can that be? How do I get this search to work?

Lightroom :: How To Use The Graduated Filter Tool

Nov 3, 2011

When I'm trying to use the graduated filter tool in 3.5 I don't end up with the lines or the marker to adjust it after I've applied it, the line and marker don't show up while I'm applying the filter and aren't there afterward either. Is there some place I need to select that as how it's shown? Also, I have a windows 7 laptop that meets the requirements for running lightroom but I'm having trouble with it not running very fluid-ly. That is if I move a slider to make an adjustment it doesn't apply it while I'm doing that it takes quite a few seconds and then applies it, which leaves me really all over the place trying to make fine little adjustments. It takes it's time to load photos and such which really isn't a big deal to me but for the little movements of the sliders or the curves I really would like to see what it's doing as it's doing it. If I had a more powerful laptop (or desktop but at this stage of my life I prefer laptop) would that improve that?

Lightroom :: Library Filter Not Turning Off?

Apr 23, 2012

Converted to LR4 last week.  This morning, I started it, and went into the library.  The open catalog has 31000 images.

The Library Filter is OFF.  (the thing at the top of the thumbnails).  The filters arse OFF  (the filter thing below the thumbnails)

I select "All Photographs" in the catalog, and I get 0 of 31002 photos.

Pull down "View" and uncheck "Show Filter Bar" so now there's NO filter bar at the top of the thumnails.

STILL have 0 of 31000 photos

If I select a folder, I get those images.  If I select a keyword, I get those images.  BUT, if I select "All Photographs" I get 0 photos.

I presume there's been a switch or something changed in LR4 that's causing this.

Lightroom :: How To Filter Images Before Importing Them In LR

Apr 24, 2013

Is there a way to filter images before importing them in Lightroom?

ScenarioI work with an extensive image collection stored on a server. The images contain a full set of metadata, including keywords and more. When I work on a specific project, I import the images into a Lightroom collection. That way I can easily review, rate and add additional keywords to those best-of images.

The challenge is that the images I want to add are from numerous folders. Plus, I often only want to add some images from those folders (not the entire folder). This collection process can be very time consuming -- manually locating the images and checking/unchecking the ones I want and repeating the process for the different folders the images reside in.

The process could be greatly simplified (and a lot faster) if I could filter/search for images that contain key words or other metadata to find the full set of images I want to import.

The key is that I’m not using a workflow to simply import all images from a memory card or download folder. I’m working from a large collection of existing images and want to import a subset of those images.
