GIMP :: Scale Tool Not Working
Mar 30, 2012After pasting in a PNG, and it's made into a Floating Selection layer, she wanted to scale it down using the Scale tool. So she clicked and dragged till she got the right size, but upon clicking on Scale (in the little dialog that pops up with the Scale tool), the dialog box vanishe ... and the layer went back to its original size. She tried multiple times and got the same problem.
I even got her to click on "Cancel" rather than Scale in case it was a traslation error, like the translator mixed up the Scale and Cancel buttons, but nope.

Feb 14, 2012When I try and scale anything, I hit the hotkey R and the 3 manipulators appear. No matter what I click on, X,Y,Z,or center, when I move my mouse I get an "automatic" jump increasing the size. I can't seem to get it to do anything but these staged jumps in size. I cannot scale anything down, unless I use the universal manipulator tool. So, for example, if I want to scale a size 2 sphere to a size .8, I would have to use the universal manipulator and Shift-click on one of the matrix corners and that will allow a uniform scaling. I realize that I can always enter the scaling amount in the Channel or Attribute box field, but it may be that I'm trying to visually scale something and entering numbers isn't exactly the best way.

Mar 18, 2011Recently when I click on an image/layer to rescale (like I have done hundreds of times) the height figure resets to 1 px. When I try to increase it back to the original figure, nothing happens apart from weird lines that appear below the image. It started yesterday, after I was in the middle of a project and Gimp crashed (which it has never done before). It does not matter how many new projects I start, after a while the scale tool stops working.

3ds Max :: Unit Scale / Display Scale And Working Units?
May 14, 2012there's a bug in my file. but
system unit is set to 1cm.
display unit is set to 1mm.
I measure the geometry at the side. its about 6355mm
I put a dummy @ base where I measured it with the tape measure.
I move it up 6000mm and it goes way off.
Illustrator :: Type Tool Only Working Sometimes
Mar 9, 2014I keep having issues with the text tool so here is what i did. I opened a new document, clicked the "Type tool", drew a box with it and starting typing, now everything was working as it should, while typing when i would get to the right side of the "Type tool" box i had drawn, the text would stay within the box and the next line would begin sorte of like this (asume the imaginary box is four spaces long):

aaaa
aaaa
aaaa
But then i started to do the same thing later in the project and the text would stay on one line and just disappear when it got to the end of the box, and i dont know how to get it working like it did before. When reshaping the box the text would stay the same size (was not a point type problem) but the text would basically just run off the end of the box and disappear, here is an example using the same text i showed above, but i'll use "b" to simulate the last four "a" lines which in this case the "b"'s will represent the invisible "a"'s. In this case the box is still four spaces wide and 5 spaces in height, but the text does not seem to acknowledge the box. And member i'm only using the "type tool", to draw these boxes, i'm not acutally drawing square shapes. Also i'm using Illustrator CC, and am using a mac.

Mar 7, 2013With the Rectangle Tool's cursor is clicked in the document. The Rectangle Panel appears. A height dimension is entered. With the pointer, the Width field is clicked. Usually, the Height Value gets automatically entered in the Width field. In this case it does not.
This same behavior is occuring in the Ellipse Tool.

Jan 18, 2012My question (confusion) is about scaling. I know all drawings are suppose to be drawn 1:1 in model space. But what if I run into drawing that is not drawn 1:1? What should I do then?
For example if a drawing is done say 1/4"-1'0" how do I check it or how do I change it to 1/8"-1'0"

Feb 12, 2013When I click the annotative scale icon at the bottom of screen it shows me the standard options to chose from:
(1/16"= 1'-0", 1/8"= 1'-0", 1/4"+ 1'-0" etc. etc..)
but it is permanently stuck in 1/4"=1-0"...
In other words if I select say 1"=1'-0"...and go to draw a dimension...the dimension is in 1/4"= 1'-0"....model space

Aug 21, 2012I'm trying to plot a simple site plan to PDF through the DWG to PDF.pc3 option.
The scale in my model space is 1-1 and in my viewport in paper space 1-200.
The issue is I plot to PDF, and then the scale is way out. For example an object that should be 10,000mm long in model space appears as 59mm (11,800mm scaled) on the PDF. And of course when I print from the PDF to a printer this scale error carries over.

It is supposed to scale about the midpoint (insertion point). I have tried both the Midpoint and Startpoint settings for Base Location but it always seems to scale from the far left of the Linear Parameter.

Dec 2, 2013I have a client who is working on the edge of a MGA coordinate zone - as they are near the edge of the zone their scale factor is large and needs to be factored in to all setouts (it makes 50mm of difference over 100 metres.)
their previous solution has been to work day to day at 1 to 1 scale and then xreference this back into a MGA projection by using a scale factor around a single point false origin.
As they are moving away from this false origin - the scale factor is changing slightly.
Is it possible to create a user grid at 1 to 1 for the day to day use and then query this into a MGA drawing. via ADEQUERY to bring it back to MGA ?
