Is there such a thing as to build a template in Illustrator so that the client can change the text on it? Kind of like a Content Management System on a Website?
If so, what would the client be able to use to edit in? Of course, the client would like little to no expense.
Anyways, a client has requested a logo in a PMS color. I know where the color swatch libraries are, but there is no library named PMS, there are tons of Pantone ones for coated, uncoated, ect.
Is there a search function to the pantone colors? They specified "PMS 192 Red". Says nothing of coated or whatever I just want to know how on earth do I find that actual color?
How do I package a finished project to a client. She insisted on having three name logotypes with different effects and three monogram logotypes with different effects. The finished name logotypes are on one artboard/file, and the finished monogram logotypes are on another artboard/file.

AI newbie here. How do you send the client a vector logo? When I save my logo as EPS, it is still in a thousand pieces. Is it possible to "Flatten" logo like in Photoshop before sending as vector?
My logo has some transparency which I'd like to keep.
How do you send a scalable vector logo that has transparency in a way that a client can easily open and view the file?
A simple editable mesh object, a piece of terrain, which has standard texture on it an no modifiers, just some UV's on channel 1.
Whenever I add "edit poly" modifier or convert it to editable poly, additional geometry will be created. Statistics show that only vertex count of the selected object goes up about 6x but no additional faces are generated. This not the case when check on a sub-object level, there are lot of additional faces created. I've never seen this happen, jumping between edit poly and edit mesh has been easy without any errors like this.
I've tried the same model with 2013 as well - same results. Also tried collapsing the object, removing uv-mapping, different materials, attaching the mesh to empty box, etc, garbage collection, exporting it to obj and importing - even then same thing happens.
I am using Extendscript to do some of the crtitical functionalities for Adobe premiere pro. Programme is working fine when i run it from Flash builder 4.6, i get all the expected result in premiere pro cs6. This is the methode i am using to invoke functions in .jsx files

I applied a Distortion on a square shape (Effect / Distort & Transform / Roughen). Now, I would like to Edit the shape to refine it, but the selection show me a rectangle as original shape. Is there a way to convert the shape to an editable path?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to do easily editable drop shadows directly in illustrator without having to import files from photoshop...i checked help and it says it should be one of the effects available to me under "stylize" but all i see there is "glowing edges"...i checked my effects gallery and not available there either. I know i can duplicate the text and put it behind original, take down transparency and maybe add a blur but i would like just a simple drop shadow that i can adjust quickly..

She feels that it is because when she exports as .fxg into Illus if she turns the preview to outlines the art looks like vector art. Im not so sure. You cant select anything. It still has all those outer boxes aroud it like when you "Place" artwork. Is it possible to do this?

Every time I open it, the text is either converted to points or it is broken up into single letters which is hardly useful for the end-user to take and edit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWorking on a poster in Illustrator. Have added area type, using the type tool. Now I'd like to increase the size of one line. I can't select or edit any of the type with the type tool. I moved the type to a new layer, saved, closed Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4). Looked in preferences, in case there's an issue there. No luck.
By the way, I also don't see handles when in the selection tool any more. Don't know if that's related.
I'm trying to upload shirt designs to jakprints and I'm using the template they provided to design the shirt. Hoever, when I save the file, only my design is left. No template.

Just updated to CC and now when I try to save over old templates it gives me an error message saying it cannot save because this template may be in use in another program...but the only program its in use in is illustrator at that moment because im making changes to it.

When I need a design in rhinestones, I have to send out the art to have the template created (the template is the material with the holes in it where the rhinestones will be placed.) Rhinestone creation software lets you "place" the stones in the on screen design, choosing size of stone, etc. and then allows that design to be sent to a cutter to cut the holes in the template. If I could do it in-house, it would save me some money. I know there are plug ins that are compatible with CorelDraw, and there is stand alone software out there for apparel decorators, but I would rather not invest in more software if I could accomplish it in illustrator.

If I create a precast stair in default template I get "end with riser" turned on automaticaly. If I copy that stair to my template and create new stair, "end with riser" is turned off and I manually have to adjust stair afterwards.
Problem is "end with riser" is now an instance parameter of stairs and I can't find where to change the default value.
Why is the stair type that works in default template stuffed when copied to my template?

When I initally create new document under "File", I set the width to 3.5" and height 2.25" and the top, bottom, left and right bleed to .125". There wasn't an option to preset the radius of corners for the gift card. The gift card appears square in the document like a business card. How do I create the rounded corners of gift card in Adobe Illustrator CS5 (PC)? Lastly how far do I inset the dash line where text (or QR code) will be positioned? I wish to be able to save gift card document as a template for future projects.
