Jul 10, 2010I have poster-sized file (32'' x 70'') that I need to send to my printing company. It will be printed at 200%. Will a PDF not be clear enough? There is one image. Do you need to "package" like in Indesign so they have the high res images and fonts?
Whats the best way to send a file for a high quality print?

AutoCAD LT :: Printing DWG To PDF - File Size Too Large In 2013?
Apr 5, 2012I have successfully printed a dwg to a pdf but instead of its file size being 450k it is 1.4 m. This makes sending pdfs via email too cumbersome. It seems that even though the outcome is B&W somewhere along the line "it" thinks it is Color. I noticed that in Page Setup I no longer have the option of "DWG to PDF.pc3".

I recently did a tutorial as I wanted to learn how to make vector backgrounds (for large printing purposes and to save on file size)
I was wondering if this particular tutorial I did can cause the banding when professionally printed.

What it is is simply making a shape with a gradient. Adding a solid color rectangle behind that shape, Selecting the shape and rectangle and creating an opacity mask. This creates a nice blend effect and I hope it looks as smooth on screen as it does in print.
Dealing with this situation of "banding", what worked for me is adding a curve layer to the top of my layers and adjusting the sliders all the way to the right in order to see on screen the "banding" more clearly. Is there a way to do this in Illustrator? They also recommended designing in 16-bit, however I think these graphcis I will be creating are very large (for booth displays) and I imagine the file would be outrageous in size.
Illustrator :: Get Multiple Tiles To Appear On Large Piece For Printing?
Sep 12, 2012I'm working in Illustrator 6. I've got a large piece that I'd like to print onto several 11x17 sheets. When I select Veiw---Show Print TIling, only one tile appears. I expect there to be enough tiles to cover the entire piece and be numbered for me? Where are they? How do I get them to appear?
Then when I go to Print the tile option in the print dialog is greyed out.
I know I've done this before in earlier versions.

Oct 15, 2012I have an .eps file that contains a couple of dots and some hash marks, but the file size is ~4.2MB. I have deleted the unused color swatches, bringing the file size down to ~3.3MB. At this point however, I cannot figure out why the file is still so large. Judging from the number of unused color swatches, thousands if not tens of thousands, I am thinking that the user has been importing artwork into this same template for years. With that in mind, what other objects can accumulate to create an unusually large file size? I believe we can have the user create a new template, but I would like to know exactly what is happening so that we can prevent this issue from occuring in the future.

May 23, 2013I duplicated one of my previously created CS6 Adobe Illustrator files (28 MB) with photos that have clipping masks. Why is my new AI file now 148 MB in size, when all of my newly linked jpeg graphics total only 9 MB? If I save it as a regular pdf it's 148MB, but if I save this same file with the smallest size pdf format, it reduces it down to only 242 KB. No files are embedded either in my newly created AI file. My business associate working on other Illustrator files experiences this same phenomenon sporadically at times too. It has us both baffled.

For example, I may crop part of an image as a 2x3 to fit in an odd picture frame, such as a Chrstimas ornament. However, most places I print (e.g. CVS) only print common sizes. In the past I've used Elements to create a blank new image in a common size and pasted my crop into it (which is a little tricky because you have to make sure the new image and the crop have the same resolution), but I'd like to be able to do this directly in Lightroom.

I tried using “Export" and "Save for Web” but I get the same answer.
Can someone using CS 5 open a new document 10,000 x 1920 pixels and try to export it at 72 dpi and tell me if it works?

Jun 25, 2008Anyways, a client has requested a logo in a PMS color. I know where the color swatch libraries are, but there is no library named PMS, there are tons of Pantone ones for coated, uncoated, ect.
Is there a search function to the pantone colors? They specified "PMS 192 Red". Says nothing of coated or whatever I just want to know how on earth do I find that actual color?
