I have poster-sized file (32'' x 70'') that I need to send to my printing company. It will be printed at 200%. Will a PDF not be clear enough? There is one image. Do you need to "package" like in Indesign so they have the high res images and fonts?

One of the things I need to do occasionally is print an uncommon sized image. For example, I may crop part of an image as a 2x3 to fit in an odd picture frame, such as a Chrstimas ornament. However, most places I print (e.g. CVS) only print common sizes. In the past I've used Elements to create a blank new image in a common size and pasted my crop into it (which is a little tricky because you have to make sure the new image and the crop have the same resolution), but I'd like to be able to do this directly in Lightroom.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've seen in previous thread's how to add a company logo to your title block/plot frame using a jpg file. Plus i've set the image parameters to 0 to remove the line around the image that appears. I've also set the transparency to "ON" - not sure if this is correct but did it anyway - i think.
My problem is that when I come to print it off - the logo appears with a slight background (very faint grey) when it should be just white. The logo is made up of black and red shapes with black text on a white background.
I am VERY new to Adobe Illustrator and I am trying to recreate my company logo so as to save it in a higher res file type.

I had to send some logos to a printing company, in order for them to laser-print the logos on some pens. They replied back to me, saying that the logos needed to be "broken into curves" before they could go ahead and print them.

I am designing a simple label (3.75 x 1.25 inches, black and white) that is mostly text based. I tried printing directly from Illustrator and also as a converted PDF (high quality) and the results are the same - slightly blurry and fuzzy text.
The printing problem seems to only happen when I try to print Illustrator files and PDFs converted from Illustrator. (Printing with a laser printer.)

I have just upgraded from CS3. My workflow when preparing files for the printer is to print to postscript file, then use distiller to convert the file to pdf for sending.
CS3 retained the file location, so that each time I performed the same action, it went straight to the previous folder where the postscript file (for the current AI file) was created.
Now, in CS6, it takes me back to 'My Computer' (equivalent in Windows 7) every time... which is really, really frustrating to have to re-navigate back to the same server path every time I output the file. (Which I do a lot as I do final checks and proofing within acrobat, so need to perform this process frequently).
I've recently picked up Illustrator CS5, when I save a file (or print) as a PostScript file. My aim is to convert the file to a PDF using Distiller and in the Print dialogue box, the PPD field in past versions says something along the lines of Adobe PDF 8.0. In CS5, I do not have the option to select that from the PPD drop down menu (Nor can I find the file to add to the list). Additionally, I can't make a 'custom sized pdf,' only preset paper sizes. I've had to resort to opening my files in CS3 to convert them to PostScript files. I forsee this becoming a problem once I start diving into some of Illustrator CS5's new features.
I get the feeling the program didn't install with an Adobe PDF plug-in and I can't seem to find a substitute online that isn't from 1999 (!). Is there a way to get that plug-in file that my copy of CS3 is using into my CS5?
I am trying to send a file to a newspaper for print. Only thing is Illustrator makes the files massive.
A normal newspaper ad ends up to be 58MB when converted to PDF. When i make something in Indesign it only exports to about 8MB for PDF.
I have a photoshop banner which has been converted to .pdf. It is 111,019KB and I need to send it to someone else. I am having a hard time sending it via email, and ftp because of the large file size. I tried zipping it but it doesn't make a difference.

I find it a little strange that they don't offer a direct upload option of the DMP file as a part of this dialogue, but it's probably me who is a little strange...
Anyway. Is there an email address or something where I can send this DMP file? It would be much faster than getting in touch with Corel support.
A week or so ago VSX4 suddenly hiccuped and flashed up a message ‘send DMP file xxxxxxxxxxxxx to Corel’ and the program then refused to function until reopened. But I could find no obvious way through the support web site to attach a file to an e-mail, something which used to be possible for you or so ago. I finished up ringing the only Australian phone number on it could find on Corel’s web site and the lady who answered offered to forward my e-mail with DMP file attached to support. So far I have not yet received a reply.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, I'm using LR3 and Elements 10. I need to make sure I'm doing this right. Im in LR, and I want to send a DNG file over to Elements. I click Edit with Photoshop Elements, it sends the file over to Elements. I do my edits in Elements, then click Save. It does come back into LR, but its still the PSD and I want it to be in DNG? Whats the best way to do this?
Is the only way it comes back is either a jpeg or psd? Or should I send files over in TIFF instead of PSD? And which color space should I be in?
when I work on autocad I cant send my file to sketchbook, I click where it says >> "Sketchbook" - Create new Canvas<< and after that, is supposed to display a menu to set the paper size of the layout but nothing happens,

View 2 Replies View RelatedI jumped from using Windows XP with CorelDraw 11 to Windows 7 with CorelDraw 16, and ever since then, I have been having problems with colors changing in my PDF files. Before I send the file, I open it in Adobe Acrobat Pro to make sure the colors look correct, and they look fine..., but the person who is receiving the PDF tells me that when they open up the file, the colors change (usually to black), or nothing appears at all. What is up with this? I use Pantone Solid Coated colors in my PDF files because that is what we use to match our silk screening inks.
