When I try to export my gif the only options are help, export, and cancel. There is no box that says 'save as animation'. I've checked GIMP 2libgimp2.0plug-ins for file-gif-save and file-gif-load and they are both there. I've reinstalled gimp as well.
I have some experience using GIMP but I have just completed my first animation for my wedding invitation.
I have used GAP and am happy with the Playback and am ready to export to gif - something I have successfully done before in smaller images.
However, when I export to/save as gif, only the frame I have open at the time is exporting, not the whole animation. I have tried this on my two different systems - using GIMP 2.8.6 on Windows and 2.8.12 (I think) on Ubuntu but I am still stuck.
I'm not sure what information is relevant but I believe my frames are named correctly (000001.xcf - 000268.xcf) and as I said, the playback is working exactly as I want it to. Just not the gif!
It looks like my FG map is tiling. I have a 12 frame animation for a flash file. The camera doesn't move, but 2 objects in the scene do move. It seemed to start when I tryed to save a FG map for the animation.
I did a lot of animation in p7 when I had it but then my company upgraded my photoshop to cs2.
I have looked at EVERY freakin tutorial under the sun and it tells me to save it as a .gif file under the SAVE FOR WEB part. I have tried that. I have tried saving it in ImageReady like I did in p7. I have tried EVERYTHING but for some reason, it won't save my animation. It flattens it and saves only the first slide of it.
I have missed a good 3 deadlines because of it and I seriously get a migraine from trying to figure this out...
Maybe its just one little thing I missed or a button or SOMETHING. Its only on my work computer. I don't have cs2 at home I only have p7 but I can't take my work home any more.
My content management system will only allow jpgs for this particular section of my site that I'm working in. I have PS CS5 Extended and I already created my animation (basically just a slideshow) and now I need to save it as a .jpg.I tried doing Save for web and devices, selecting GIF as the format and then changing it to a jpg extension. This preserves the animation and also gives it the file type that I need. However the gif image quality is awful.
I've opened up a file to which i produced the other night. Through scaling down a jpeg image to a suitable size to be used as an avatar on a website, i've made 51 frames. Now before i used to save any animations via 'Save Optimized As...' then select the .gif option. The problem is, when i now go to save my file as an animation, it does not give me the option to save as .gif . The choices i have are something like .jpg / .htm or both. Also, before the save file dialog box pops up i have a message stating something along the lines of 'jpegs etc etc are not compatible with animations' or something? I've never seen this message before and have also created animated .gif files from a jpeg file in the past...
I'm using MassFx in 2013 64bit. When I apply any rigid body modifier to an object it looks fine but after I save and reload the .max file the scale & position of the rigid body is wrong. This seems random, I've tried switching to CM and Meters etc, nothing seems to fix it.
I only recently upgraded to 2.8 from 2.6 and was wondering if I am the onlyone missing the option to edit the file extension in the SAVE formwhich basically allowed you to Save, Save Copy, Save As or Export to anyformat from the same form?
I also found it strange that if I now open a JPG file (or drag into GIMP),I can't save changes (to the JPG) directly (it wants to save to native Gimpformat), so I again first have to go to Export instead!
I am wondering why this was incorporated, and if it's going to stay, is there a setting I can set to work like I am used to (and find much fasterand more flexible)?
In the Picture u see a spline (with and witouht render-mesh). I want to animate the deformation of the Spline/Vertices, without assigning each vertex to a keyframe.
First i thought i can do this via the Morpher-Modificator, but the animation happening there was not the one i was looking for.
Is there a chance to rig/save the Vertex-Coordinates to a Manipulator. So i can easily go from Shape1 over Shape2 to Shape3?
I just installed the latest 2013.5 Extension release. When trying to perform a load saved weights from the Muscle menu, I receive the following error when switching the Load By type to World Pos.
// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2013.5/scripts/muscle/cMuscleSaveWeights.mel line 663: Object 'tfTol' not found. //
I have a simple gif of two layers, both with transparent backgrounds. When I add the layers and animate the gif it shows both layers. Can't I just make only 1 layer display at a time with its transparency without seeing the other one behind?
Im having issues when exporting an animation. I have set the time i want each layer displayed in the edit layer attributes section and entering a ms value. When i select layers, animation. play animation its perfect.
However. when i export it takes the values from that screen in preference over my specified values in each layer attribute. Explain the items in the export animation export window for me .
Iv had gimp for awhile but just started messing around with animations. . .trying to make 100 x 100 avatar. Trying to learn as I go. I understand how to make the animation now and I need to change it to index mode etc. but it seems no matter what I do it saves looking smudged/blurry not crisp... not like the preview. I understand there are a limited amount of colors in gif... Iv been doing online searches and trying all the recommendations I seen. Everything from choosing the dithering option to saving each layer (its just 3 layers) as a .gif separately first and then adding them together... nothing seems to work. What else can I try?
I am trying to make a slideshow gif animation, varying the delay between the frames... see screenshot. I play the animation in gimp, it works perfectly. But when I save it as a gimp file, the resulting animation blips by with no reference to the delays I specified.
Animation! I'm really new to this GAP-program. First I did Video/frames to image and changed (41ms) into (120ms), because the animation was too fast.
Bur after this, it still was too fast, so I changed that manually in the Layers-box (into 170ms - 200ms). (I don't wanted all frames to have the same speed). Speed is now good, but somehow it isn't as smooth anymore.
I've created a picture with a layer of lava underneath a stone wall which is visible through some of the cracks in the stone. I'm looking to use the rippling animation on ONLY the lava layer while keeping the rest of the layers, i.e. shadows, drop shadow, background, etc. in tact.
Is this possible? I tried several different ways but couldn't make it work. So in other words, I'm only trying to animate only one layer.
I am trying to make a simple gif animation. however when i do each layer does not disappear when the next is played. Each layer remains and successive layers are pasted on top.
I've done it in the past to click on the dotted line to detach the animation pane so while repeatedly using Animstack & Playback is less cumbersome. Why I no longer have that option?
How do I make a video or animation of me drawing with gimp? basically I want a video of me drawing. I would just videotape me doing it but that wouldn't be good enough quality. basically I want a video of what I see on the screen while I am drawing.
i'm trying to make an object have a rotation animation.. i did this by making duplicates and rotating them different angles. When i save it and play the gif, it shows each frame show up and overlay one after the other. I want to only show one frame at a time. How do i do this? Here:
im making an animation with gimp and then i saved it. but now i want to add more layers and paste these images on buuutt when i paste the colors are all faded and weird, does this have something to do with like indexed images or something?
Any way to convert a .xcf file to a video or animation that shows all the things you did to the image from beginning to end. I want to show a friend how I drew this picture, but I'm already done and only have the .xcf of the completed drawing.
I would like to try creating an animation like this ([URL] - originally made through Apple Keynote Animation).
a) Inform if Gimp is able to give me tools to create similar still drawings/images? Could other software as Inkscape be better to this kind of drawing ? (I am not familiarized with both yet).
b) If yes, any tutorial that approaches more directly this style of drawings/images?
c) From sequence of still images created in Gimp I intend to use video editing software (Sony Vegas) to animate them. Actually I don’t know whether it is the best way to animate the images.
I have one picture of my office building and one picture of an airplane . I want to make the airplane fly and crash into the building and explode. If it's possible to make it in GIMP, how can i do it?
More importantly - how is this technique called? jpg animation? I'm new to graphic editing and don't even know how to name certain things or techniques, so i need some keywords for further research.
I'm also have adobe premiere elements, would this application be useful in creating such projects from pure jpg images?
I'm working on making a .gif animation in Gimp 2.6, and it seems to work just fine in the preview playback. However, when I export it to .gif and view it, the .gif moves as if each frame is supposed to be displayed for 100ms. Why is this happening?
When I export it as an animation to .gif, I do not check the box that says "use delay entered above for all frames, but the delay still says 100ms. I select "don't care" for frame disposal and use that for all frames. Is there an incorrect setting here?
