I have been trying out gimp and i'm getting the hang of the basics but what i would like to know is how can i scroll multiple layers on the same image,
i have been using the 'move path' function and i can get one layer to scroll but how do i add more layers to the image? i want one text layer to scroll horizontally and then another different text layer to scroll vertically but at the moment i only get one or the other.
I have made an animation in edge, which I have then added into my Muse site. Is there anyway I can make the animation start when I scroll to it within the page.

I've never looked into batch processing with GIMP, but I would be willing to. This is for a video game sprite.
I seemed to have accidentally pressed something and now I am unable to scroll upwards, only down.

I am trying to edit an Adjustment Brush in the Develop module.
I want to fine tune the coverage area for the brush.
I can use Ctrl +/- keys to zoom in/out, and the Page Up/Down keys to scroll up and down when zoomed in, but there does not seem to be any way to scroll right and left when zoomed in. The key shortcut lists I've seen don't list anything for scroll left and right. How to scroll the image left and right when zoomed in ?
When I try to use the hand to scroll an image around in the window in PS CS6, it keeps crushing the image down inside the window and letting it spring back to its original size when I let go. How do I stop it from doing this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have rigged a character and made it into a character set in which i have locked the scaling attribute , I have then saved this file. I have then referenced this file and and have done a walk cycle animation and saved this file. I have then realised that I needed the scaling attribute when I have added other parts of my scene. Is there a way to unlock the scaling attribute in my walk cycle animation file or will i have to go back and change it in the rigged file, create a new character set and do the walk cycle animation again?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a piece for a little while now and it now acts as if the whole image is locked. I can toggle a layers visibility to find out that I an on the proper layer, but then I can not erase something or draw new. I noticed the last time that I was working that I could not Pencil over the entire layer as if the layer was and inch shorter than the left side of the canvas. I went down every layer and moved the cursor over the image area to see if the layer was locked. There are 27 layers. It was saved as an .XCF file.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have some PDF files whose images are not visible as I go through the steps to open them. The steps are File > Open > select file in drop-down box > click on Open > see empty image in Import from PDF box > click on Select All > Import. The import process takes a few seconds and the editing box appears with a blank image. The size of the box matches the number of pixels shown in the import box, but no image is visible. What can I do to change the color or visibility of the pixels? Other PDF files import correctly using the same process.

I open a jpg file in gimp and use the crop tool. I see the cropped part highlighted and the part to be discarded as a surrounding shaded area. I am happy with the cropped part and open a file-save-as dialog through the file menu. I type in the file name and think I am done. But when I open the saved file, it looks the same as the uncropped file that I started with in the first place. What am I failing to do to make the gimp save my change? I guess the answer is that I didn't really make a change but only thought I did. So how do I actually change to the cropped image?

I can resort to just mirroring the left and right sides to fill in the blanks, but I would really rather not do that if it is possible.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running version 2.8.2 of GIMP on Kubuntu 12.10. I do not remember which version I was running before this one, but it was possible to press ALT + ENTER to open a properties dialog where one could enter / modify a description for the opened image. ALT + ENTER does nothing in this new version, but I think that I should enter the File -> Properties dialog to do this, right? The dialog is different and it is in a different menu now, but it seems here is where we should enter / edit image metadata. However, nothing that I fill in this dialog is saved. I enter the title, author, description, etc., but when I click OK the info is discarded without warning. If I go back to the File -> Properties dialog right after confirming the data I had just entered, the dialog is blank again. Is this a bug or am I looking for the enter / edit metadata functionality in the wrong place?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI opened a 1024x1024 image in GIMP, and manually broke it up into fully black and fully white sections. I'd like to output a file which is just a simple binary array of 8 bit numbers, such that every black pixel in the image has the value 0, and every white pixel has the value 1. This way, I can open it in my C program and then load the array into memory using the fread function.
I haven't been able to work out how to do this. I need to avoid using any files with metadata in them...And unfortunately, even the ppm format has a handful of characters at the beginning. Is there a way to do this?
