CorelDRAW X6 :: Batch Save Old Files?
Apr 9, 2013I have a folder containing a bunch of old CDR version 12 files. Is there a way to batch save them as X6 instead of having to open them all and saving them one at a time?

Nov 8, 2011Is there a way to set up batch plot so it saves the files on it's own? Right now I have to wait for the box with the name to pop up and then I hit OK and then have to wait for each file like that?
I found a setting and changed it from "Prompt for name" and changed it to "Specify Name" but that did not do the trick.

Feb 26, 2013I've been using the batch file - export layers to file script for some time. Right now I'm trying to figure out an easy way to have a locked background and do the same thing, but keep the background the same.
Background - Layer 1 - Save

etc.
Is there a way to do this? I have around 300 images that need the exact same background.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Batch Convert DWG Files
Jul 28, 2011I've received quite a few DWG files and I would like to batch convert them into PDFs so I can share them with the sales staff. Also, DRAW deals with PDFs much better than DWG and the added feature that the PDFs will have all outlines converted to black.
My workflow now is to open each DWG in DWG True view and plot it to PDF using there built-in engine. It works but I have to convert all outlines to black inside DRAW plus I have to do each file one at a time. I've downloaded a trial version of deskDOC DWG to PDF with less than stellar results .
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: Batch Convert Gallery CCX Files To CMX?
Feb 19, 2009Some years ago purchased CorelGallery 1,300,000. The vector clipart came in a .CCX format.
However, the Gallery browser no longer loads into my Service Packed Windows XP. Also XP and Vista cannot display .CCX thumbnails in their respective Explorers.
Today I discovered if I change the file type from .CCX to .CMX. the thumnail displays.
My challenge is how to covert about 500,000 files from one to the other en masse.

Jan 18, 2013I purchased Corel draw thru my work(college). Version X6 arrived. I installed the two hot fixes and things started to break. They are as follows:
Issue 1 - Printing to a PFD" file crashes x6.2
Issue 2 - tried to save file to an earlier version 14.0 to use on a epilog laser and the files are now corupt and can not be save as version 16.0 any more.
Issue 3 - Files saved to version 14.0 format can not be opened corel draw x5 for the laser to cut.

Nov 10, 2012When I'm done drawing something on Corel, I can't save, save as, save as template, export, send to, print, merge or publish. I can't even cut or copy, I can only paste. I can't run scripts or add-ons either. I don't have a trial, and I have Windows XP. I've had Corel for months before this problem happened out of the blue.?

Jul 6, 2013I've created an action that uses the save for web dialogue to optimise images for the web. When I use the batch command to process a full folder of images, even though I have "Override action "save as" command" checked, it ignores this and still uses the location that was used when the action was created.
Apparently this is a known issue in CS6 and previous versions but whether this has been fixed in Photoshop CC?

Number two on my list behind your fantastic new layer functionality that I had been dreaming about for three years. I NEVER close PDN. The ONLY time it closes is once every week or two when the 20, 30, 50 tabs that I have open, finally overwhelm my system. I bounce back and forth so much that there is no way to continuously save them as I make changes cause it would jack up my workflow by taking up too much time.
No way around it, this is just how I work. It would be lovely if PDN was able to, similar to After Effects, popup an error box saying it was about to crash and did 'you" want to save the session. Especially, now, with 4, as while it is a super duper version upgrade, the crashes were daily, with me, and I couldn't keep losing that much data. Sophie's choice, for me. The old layer window or daily crashes.

Mar 4, 2013I have tried on numerous occasions to save my corel draw files to adobe illustrator but once you try to save a page in corel to AI the program locks up in the background so that you can't close it and when I try to enter my new AI file into my internet "dropbox" so that my web-designer can use the files, I am just informed that copying the file into dropbox is not possible as the file is currently open in Corel Draw?
I have tried to get the hot-fix/updated patch for Corel X6 however that is an even worse nightmare with all the swings and roundabouts Corel trys to get you to go on before you can get a simple update.
My web designer is waiting to start work on my new website but I just can not get my design work to him.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 :: Can't Save And Open CDR Files
Dec 19, 2011I just replaced the hard drive in my laptop. I have installed Coreldraw 12 again and it opens and works fine.
Problem is when I create and save a file. The file appears on the desktop ( if that is where I save it ) but it has an odd icon with a red A on the bottom corner. If I click on it, I get a "not a valid win32 application" message.
However if I open Corel12 and import the file, it appears to be fine.

May 30, 2012Corel has suddenly started corrupting any new files I save. I'll make a file, save it, then when I open it... It goes through the motions of opening it, but when it is done nothing opens. There is nothing there.
If I change the file to a zip file and open the riffDATA.cdr file that works, but this CAN'T be my solution. Could a virus have corrupted Corel?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Slow To Open And Save Files Across Network
Apr 23, 2012I have recently installed Corel X6 and have found it to be painfully slow when opening files. At first I had thought it might be a network issue so I copied the file to a local drive and experienced the same problem.
The file is only 819Kb but it takes about 3 minutes to open the file. When I first select the file in the File Open dialogue window Corel just hangs for about 1 minute. It finally responds then takes a further 2 minutes to process and open the file.
I have turned off my antivirus software as I thought this might be a file scanning issue but still the same result.

I know Dreamweaver had this function - not sure if it still has, but I would love for Corel to have this so I don't have to scroll through all my open files and save them! If the file is not named it can pop up the save as box as usual and leave it open till the next day.
I have to save before I go, as we have very unreliable power and the UPS systems are not reliable either.

Somehow i have to End Process of installation and though find X5 in my Start menu of Windows XP SP2. Well the actual problem started when i recently tried to publish PDF for one of my client's brochure of 17 pages, X5 closes all of a sudden and i have to restart the whole process. At times it creates a PDF which then has errors and Acrobat Reader don't read it.At times X5 even gives Error while saving files. Then have to click Save till it actually saves the file.I uninstalled X5 thinking, there could be some corrupted files and re-installed, but all in vain..

Nov 11, 2013I got over 160 color corrected RAW files from my photographer when I thought I was getting TIf or PSD files. I need to put them into an in design doc to send out for printing. Is there a way to convert all of these in one fell swoop without messing up the work that has already been done?
I didn't allow in my timing to save each one individually since i didn't know I was going to need to do this. I am really unfamiliar with batch processing, so how to best go about this, or if I even can. I am working in Photoshop CS6. version 13.06 x 64.
Illustrator :: Batch Export Of EPS To BMP Files Creates Extra EPS / AI Files

File>Export>.bmpClose
If I run the action on one file, it works perfect.
If I try to run it as a batch, it creates the bmp files fine.
But it also creates either a .ai file, or two .eps files!
Writing one or two extra files signifiantly shows the process down.
After I run the batch it is not hard to simply delete the extra .eps/ai files of course.
But writing those files seriously slows the process down, and I have about 89,000 more files to go.

AutoCAD .NET :: Batch Converting CTB Files To STB Files?
Nov 19, 2009As an organization, we have opted to go with STB as we have some complicated requirements that CTB doesn't accommodate. The wisdom of that decision is a moot point and I'm aware of the vast array of opinion.
We have a legacy of CTB drawings that occassionally need to be brought forward when projects get resurrected (state government highway designs are prone to getting shelved).
Up to AutoCAD 2009, I've had a VBA routine that performed a few operations on a list of files stored in a text file:
- Open the file
- Convert to STB using "CONVERTPSTYLES" with a specified STB file.
- Run a script to load a layer state file to change the plot styles from Style1, Style2 etc, to their correct named plot styles.
- Manage a recalcitrant layer that refused to play ball.
- Save and close the document
- Get the next file........
This was all fine until 2010 came along with the announcement that VBA was to be phased out. 2010 is OK with the VBA enablers, but now I've got some work to do.
Our organisation's development language is C# and I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition to develop my C# .NET code.
Is there another mechanism than "SendStringToExecute" for sending a command such as convertpstyles to AutoCAD and getting .NET to wait for it to finish before proceeding.
I've got CommandEnded code that handles waiting for MTEXT and DTEXT commands to finish and I've tried constructing a CommandEnded for CONVERTPSTYLES, but it seems to me that commands that throw dialogue boxes such as CONVERTPSTYLESand SCRIPT aren't handled the same way.
I've tried setting FILEDIA to 0 prior to running the CONVERTPSTYLES command, however the message box that CONVERTPSTYLES presents before asking for the STB file appears to be getting in the way.
Photoshop :: Batch Processing Is No Longer Doing Save As?
Jul 1, 2013I have been using several resizing and sharpening batch processes which have saved a resultant file at the end with a different name. In the Batch process an original folder was selected and a destination folder and the file name changed with a different custom prefix. I have been using these batch processes with no problems for years. Without warning I have noticed that all of these batches are no longer working and the end result is one file in the destination folder, ie it must me overwriting. I have tried to recreate the basic batch process again and have resorted to using both 'save; and 'save as' at the end of the process in different test batch processes and the same result happens pretty much each time, the one file after the original folder had 5 images. I have noticed that 'Save as' is not showing up in the actions of the batch process (only shows as 'Save' irrespective if you selected 'save' or 'save as'. It is like Photoshop is refusing to accept 'save as' with a new file as a valid action. I have also tried to check the override 'save as' box etc. If you edit normally in Photoshop and 'save as' for that image, there are no problems .

Jul 17, 2013I have a set of actions i need to run on a couple of hundred jpegs, they simply need a lens correction, auto colour and auto contrast, then need saving as tiffs, all works fine when i record the action, but when i run it on a folder full of jpegs, the tiffs are huge! original jpegs are around 5mb and the tiffs are 30mb, if i apply the save as to a file individually it seems fine (file size around 2mb)
In the save as section i have specified jpeg compression at a quality of 8, but it seems to miss this in the batch process, am i missing something?
Photoshop :: Batch Sub Folders And Save In Original?
Nov 27, 2012I have a folder structure with 30+ image galleries and the client uploaded original files form their DSLR - causing them to display slowly on their website.
I have an action that changes the images to fit in a 800x800 size, "Save for the Web" over the original image.
This works just fine and if I run it on one directory I'm ok - but I would like to run it on all 30+ directories with a batch command.
I see that I can tell the batch to run on all subs, bit the issue is that it is saving the file in the directory specified int he action.
I know I can override the destination, but that only allows me to select one directory?
I need the images to stay in their original directories?
One more note - I know I can use the Image Processor script, but this is goign to use the Save As command vs the Save for the Web - the differance in file size is significent. ie. in my example file the Save As image at a Quality of 5 is 36K and the Save for the Web at a quality of 45 is 14k - with over 3,000 images to process and store this is a huge differance.
AutoCad :: Batch Plot - Save As Box Not Appearing
Nov 12, 2013When I try to batch plot from Autocad 2009, using pdf 995, the save as dialog box does not open. I do not print in background, The drawings all process correctly. When it comes to the end nothing happens. I have <publishcollate> set at <1>
It worked once or twice a while back. I cannot get to the root of the problem.
The same happens with the plot to dwg standard plot on cad.
The only way I can do a successful batch plot is if I set the file location on the plot to dwg prior to print.
However, the plot to dwg does not plot our firms titleblock correctly.
Illustrator :: Save Changes Dialog Stops Batch?
Feb 12, 2013I created a simple batch action that makes a small change to an EPS file, and then exports to WMF.
On the last step, I record File>Close. This opens the "Save Changes to original doc?" dialog window below (see graphic). I choose "Don't Save", and stop the action.
However, each time it stops the batch on this dialog box.
Is there anyway to automate this step so that it will not interrupt my batch?

-- I can write without problems Action for each special folder, but it take too many time to make 1000 Actions like 1000 folders I have. The problem is in SAVE AS command wich I use in Action. It remembers folder witch was used while recording. Then if I try "Override SAVE AS" option in the Batch window I get edited original files without creatig copies.
I can choose destination NONE, SAVE AND CLOSE, FOLDER. Simply, what I need is SAVE AS COPY AND CLOSE.
