Photoshop :: Batch Save Layers From Within A Single PSD File Using CS5?
Dec 31, 2012
I'm saving animation frames to individual PNG files. I have each image on a single layer in one group. Is there any way I can batch save all of them as individual PNGs? Right now I'm saving them one by one and it's tedious with over 100 frames.

AND/OR a open tab recovery cache or way to extract the images that get lost during a crash of PDN.
Number two on my list behind your fantastic new layer functionality that I had been dreaming about for three years. I NEVER close PDN. The ONLY time it closes is once every week or two when the 20, 30, 50 tabs that I have open, finally overwhelm my system. I bounce back and forth so much that there is no way to continuously save them as I make changes cause it would jack up my workflow by taking up too much time.
No way around it, this is just how I work. It would be lovely if PDN was able to, similar to After Effects, popup an error box saying it was about to crash and did 'you" want to save the session. Especially, now, with 4, as while it is a super duper version upgrade, the crashes were daily, with me, and I couldn't keep losing that much data. Sophie's choice, for me. The old layer window or daily crashes.

I'm trying to edit some map files in the game called "Farming Simulator 2013" by GIANTS. They are png files & I can load/edit the files in paint. But after I save the files back to the proper game folder & try to run the game I get an error stating :grass_weight.png' incorrect format. Must be 8bit single channel. Is there a plug-in to save a file in this format? Am I missing something or am I just not going to be able to edit a paint, net file in paint.net? I

We just started in 2014 last week. When we batch plot to PDF using the DWG to PDF driver we get multi-page files no matter which is selected in the Publish Options. Any way to allow single sheet PDF creation?

I have just switched over to 2014 and i cannot for the life of me get my batch plot to plot PDF's to a single file! Instead, it's printing all 37 layouts separate. I tried switching between multi-file & single file in the publish options, but nothing!
i know that it took me a while to perfect my settings the last time i set up a new version, but i am struggling to work it out now.

is there a quick way how to renumber or batch rename all layers in a file so they would be named in consequent numbers? Doesn't have to start from exact number, I was wondering if maybe there is some sort of script that would work?

I'm trying to run a simple batch command that works fine in an old CS2 I happen to have but in CS4 every action I create and every stock one from the list returns the message "could not complete the batch command because the disk is not available". Not even actions that don't require saving to a disk work.

I Keep having this reoccuring problem today - white lines keep appearing attatched to certain & all layers in photoshop files that I have, the only solution that seems to get rid of them is to put a mask on the layer and mask the line away, these are appearing on text, smart objects & rastersized layers.
They were not there when I previously saved the file and they should not be there now, I then went to open another file I had and white lines started to appear on the files. This is really frustrating because some of the website documents have alot of layers. I have attatched an example below, they only appear to be 1 pixel and can range up to 2500pixels wide and they overlap making the line look thicker sometimes.

I've created an action that uses the save for web dialogue to optimise images for the web. When I use the batch command to process a full folder of images, even though I have "Override action "save as" command" checked, it ignores this and still uses the location that was used when the action was created.
Apparently this is a known issue in CS6 and previous versions but whether this has been fixed in Photoshop CC?

I need to save a drawing file and give it the name of my desire using a single command, I don't want to issue "saveas" and then specify the name in the file name prompt. This problem is has been faced when I was using ScriptPro and I couldn't succeeded to do that. Hence I need to know if it is feasible to do the stuff using a single command. It will be preferred if I can choose the location to save the file also rather than save the file to the default location.

Is it possible to take 3-4 effects, all mixed together, like brush stroke, solarise, warp sharp, neon... mix them all together, and process a number of pictures while changing the mix level of each effect, and also varying some of the effect settings, such as brush size, brightness, etc...
are there any scripts that can do that? any macro plugins that can control other plugins? is there a crafty programming trick that could be fashioned to vary and mix effects across a task of batch processing?

From several .vsp-projects to output/convert/encode/render single video files (Videodatei erstellen) in Batch with one film template (Filmvorlage)
DVD authoring was yesterday - today is streamed from the NAS to the TV. So I now render video projects (.vsp) in VideoStudio as individual files (Videodatei erstellen). With Full HD 50p projects which lasts a few minutes and I can not cut in this time. With several hundred clips from vacation it sucks.
Hence my request for a new batch function for the encoder of VideoStudio: Several .vsp-files to be issued in Batch with a self-defined film original/template (Filmvorlage).

I would like to add an adjustment layer to a photoshop CS2 file that has an effect on a particular layer rather than all of the layers. I have tried adding the adjustment layer from the icon at the bottom of the layers palette, from Layers, New adjustment layer, and I have also tried linking the two layers. In all cases the adjustment made applies to the whole image. I am sure that previous versions of Photoshop had this facility.

author one mask that effects multiple layers without using a group mask? Unfortunately I can't throw all the layers in a group and use a group mask in this case since the layers that I want to share the mask must be in different group folders. (I am using actions to export the results of each group to the different flattened files.) So I have similar but not identical layers in separate groups that I would like to share one authored mask. I also can't use smart objects because the layers are not identical.

I have a Photoshop CS6 document with 20-some adjustment layers and would like to be able to apply their effect to multiple image files. I'm looking for a way to convert the series of adjustment layers into a single action so that I can batch process a set of images. Can this be done?
Unless I'm missing something, it appears that no trivial solution exisits. For example, there's no option that allows for selecting the adjustment layers, right clicking them, and choosing 'convert to action.' What I want to avoid is having to redo each adjustment layer just for the sake of recording an action.
Also, I understand that I can always "place" (i.e. drag and drop) the image requiring processing into the Photoshop document containing the adjustment layers, saving a merged copy as jpeg, and repeat... but such a manual method would border on insulting to this prowess of a program.
Any method of recording an action that can make use of the document with the adjustment layers and a variable document that will be passed through during the batch process.

I cannot figure out how to make a batch process do some work on files in a folder, then "Save for Web..." each file into a new folder, without having to hand click on save/etc dialog windows.
I want each out file to have the same name as the input file, but put into a different folder.

I'm trying to find a script that batch rename/renumber a group of selected layers. So far I've been able to find a script that renames every single layer in a Photoshop document (overkill). Or there's the CS6 Tab rename trick (too slow).
I routintely export PSDs from Illustrator for use in After Effects. But in Photoshop, I'll get a couple hundred layers named <path> or <path> + <path> or <group>. Renaming by hand is out of the question. But I don't want to rename every layer the same.

I've got to submit about 130 images in JPG form to the media department by 1 o'clock today EST.
Basically, this is my setup up in PS CS5. I have a simple graphic (a black decorative border) in its own layer. Below this, I have a mask so that the images below it can peek through the decorative border. The sample below only has 1 image, but in my actual document there are about 130 layers under this mask, each with a different image.
I have to export every single image as a JPG. Not all the images are the same size so I have to turn off all layers, and leave only the layer being exported visible every time.
Is there anyway I can batch this? I don't see how can PS turn on/off layers automatically as it exports.Or how could I have done this differently for future reference?

I have assembled a wholel lot of scanned pages from my sketch pad into one psd file. That file has guides which I use to register and align every page (each page is therefore its own layer). Is there a way I can make an action and save off each individual layer as its own jpeg? I set up an action but I don't know how to get photoshop to save it with a distinct namespace. The first action I set up basically prompted me to re-name each layer as I saved it, which isn't really saving time. What I want is for the action to start at the bottom layer and turn off the visiblity of all the layers above it, save the visible layer as a jpeg with a name based on the layer and then turn on the next layer's visibitlity and repeat, until all layers have been saved.

I have over 500 layers of different texts over a simple background image. I need to move through each one of these layers, making only one and the background visible, then doing the same for the next, and saving each out as a separate .jpeg. I know how to batch process the jpegs giving each a different filename, but how do I move through the layers?

I have been using several resizing and sharpening batch processes which have saved a resultant file at the end with a different name. In the Batch process an original folder was selected and a destination folder and the file name changed with a different custom prefix. I have been using these batch processes with no problems for years. Without warning I have noticed that all of these batches are no longer working and the end result is one file in the destination folder, ie it must me overwriting. I have tried to recreate the basic batch process again and have resorted to using both 'save; and 'save as' at the end of the process in different test batch processes and the same result happens pretty much each time, the one file after the original folder had 5 images. I have noticed that 'Save as' is not showing up in the actions of the batch process (only shows as 'Save' irrespective if you selected 'save' or 'save as'. It is like Photoshop is refusing to accept 'save as' with a new file as a valid action. I have also tried to check the override 'save as' box etc. If you edit normally in Photoshop and 'save as' for that image, there are no problems .

I have a set of actions i need to run on a couple of hundred jpegs, they simply need a lens correction, auto colour and auto contrast, then need saving as tiffs, all works fine when i record the action, but when i run it on a folder full of jpegs, the tiffs are huge! original jpegs are around 5mb and the tiffs are 30mb, if i apply the save as to a file individually it seems fine (file size around 2mb)
In the save as section i have specified jpeg compression at a quality of 8, but it seems to miss this in the batch process, am i missing something?

I have a folder structure with 30+ image galleries and the client uploaded original files form their DSLR - causing them to display slowly on their website.
I have an action that changes the images to fit in a 800x800 size, "Save for the Web" over the original image.
This works just fine and if I run it on one directory I'm ok - but I would like to run it on all 30+ directories with a batch command.
I see that I can tell the batch to run on all subs, bit the issue is that it is saving the file in the directory specified int he action.
I know I can override the destination, but that only allows me to select one directory?
I need the images to stay in their original directories?
One more note - I know I can use the Image Processor script, but this is goign to use the Save As command vs the Save for the Web - the differance in file size is significent. ie. in my example file the Save As image at a Quality of 5 is 36K and the Save for the Web at a quality of 45 is 14k - with over 3,000 images to process and store this is a huge differance.

I have just been updated to CC at work and I am having all sorts of issues. But the two main pressing ones are:
1. When I save, it keeps "not responding". Sometimes it crashes, sometimes it doesn't. When it does, I lose everything. It takes anywhere from 1 - 5 minutes to save. I thought it was an issue with a large file, but it does it to me in a one page file with only one photo in it as well.
2. Layers. This is the killer right here. Again, I thought this was a capatability issue when using old files, but it has proved me wrong. As I create layers and new artwork, it works fine. However, once I save and re-open the file, all the artwork has been combined to a single layer and then I have to dig it all out to do anything to it, only to have it do the same thing the next time I repoen the file.
Is it me? Is it default settings somewhere in CC? I have major deadlines that I think I am going to miss if things keep continueing the way they are.
System Specs:
Illustrator CC 16.0.3 (Tried to update to 17 and it said everything was up to date, twice)
Windows 7
Dell Optiplex 7010 with Core i7 and brand new AMD video card.

Example: I have original files structure like:
FOLDER 1:
1.jpg
2.jpg
3.jpg
FOLDER 2:
1.jpg
2.jpg
3.jpg
The goal is to create edited (resized black/white) COPY of each file in each folder without resaving original file. So it must look like:
FOLDER 1:
1.jpg
1 copy.jpg
2.jpg
2 copy.jpg
3.jpg
3 copy.jpg
Folder 2:
1.jpg
1 copy.jpg
2.jpg
2 copy.jpg
3.jpg
3 copy.jpg
-- I can write without problems Action for each special folder, but it take too many time to make 1000 Actions like 1000 folders I have. The problem is in SAVE AS command wich I use in Action. It remembers folder witch was used while recording. Then if I try "Override SAVE AS" option in the Batch window I get edited original files without creatig copies.
I can choose destination NONE, SAVE AND CLOSE, FOLDER. Simply, what I need is SAVE AS COPY AND CLOSE.
