View 1 RepliesI have a set of actions i need to run on a couple of hundred jpegs, they simply need a lens correction, auto colour and auto contrast, then need saving as tiffs, all works fine when i record the action, but when i run it on a folder full of jpegs, the tiffs are huge! original jpegs are around 5mb and the tiffs are 30mb, if i apply the save as to a file individually it seems fine (file size around 2mb)
In the save as section i have specified jpeg compression at a quality of 8, but it seems to miss this in the batch process, am i missing something?
I made a Photoshop® script (action) which works perfectly. (Open .PDF files in Photoshop®, to after save them as .JPG files into another folder)
The problem comes when I launch a batch process. It takes a while to the computer to open the large .PDF files, and when a file is opened, well it doesn't go through the whole script. In fact, Photoshop® already open the second file and so on. Then without running the rest of the script/action .
I have a problem with After Effects being unable to process image files in the correct order when making time-lapse videos.AE seems unable to identify the correct chronological order from the camera generated file names and the files need to be re-numbered with a number prefix.
However sometimes even after re-numbering AE still cannot order the files correctly and will generate a video with either individual or blocks of frames out of order.
I have another app (Video Velocity) that can also suffer exactly the same problem and which will often process a video with the exact same individual or blocks of frames out of order as AE.
However VV has options to order the files in various ways including ‘sort by file create date’ in which case the time-lapse video will be processed correctly. AE doesn’t seem to have this option? Or does it?
I have the CS standard suite CS 6.
When I save a file the "date modified" only on photoshop comes up as 8 hours behind.
I also use other programmes like 3D studio max and vray and the usual office suites, with no issue.
I've been using the batch file - export layers to file script for some time. Right now I'm trying to figure out an easy way to have a locked background and do the same thing, but keep the background the same.
Background - Layer 1 - Save
Background - Layer 2 - Save
etc.
Is there a way to do this? I have around 300 images that need the exact same background.
I seem to be having trouble "save" or "save as" with jpg files.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a folder containing a bunch of old CDR version 12 files. Is there a way to batch save them as X6 instead of having to open them all and saving them one at a time?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to set up batch plot so it saves the files on it's own? Right now I have to wait for the box with the name to pop up and then I hit OK and then have to wait for each file like that?
I found a setting and changed it from "Prompt for name" and changed it to "Specify Name" but that did not do the trick.
I have a Canon S100 and just started importing photos and video into my LR 4.3 catalog. I convert RAW to DNG, and the Capture Time on the photos in LR is correct. However, the video Capture Time is shifted forward exactly 8 hours. I know how to correct the video Capture Time, but is there anything I can do to stop this from happening in the first place? I looked at what the metadata looks like in Bridge.
PHOTO:
Date Created = Correct Capture Time
Date File Modified = The time I imported the file into LR.
VIDEO:
Date Created = Capture Time + 8 hours
Date File Modified = Correct Capture Time
I wanted to upgrade from paintshop pro x2 to x5 (want to go to 64 bit)but I have a severe problem. Here the steps to reproduce it:
1. open only one big tif file at a time (edit window) (from canon scanner 600 dpi A4 scan around 100 mb per file i think around 5500 to 3200 pixels)
2. sometimes i turn/rotate the picture first with the rotate tool (0 to 0,2 degrees)
3. use the crop/trim function to cut a small part of the edge
4. save the image and close it ( there is never more than one file opened in psp) its now around 80 mb in size dont close psp x5 and repeat steps 1 to 4 with other images. (with smaller 30mb images it did not happen and if I close x5 and reopen it after every 5th tif-image it does not happen too, so somewhere memory is not given free) When doing this when saving somewhere at the 7th - latest at the 10th image that image is saved corrupted.(it shows in the lower half vertical grey lines)
The big problem is: there is no error message and you only see that the image is corrupted when you view it again or if you see it in the thumbnail view of windows explorer.
second problem is that after doing an undo after a crop/trim step (3.) the picture is gone and the area is white.(dont save now!!)
x5 version is the current trial version (15.2 something - when i try to install sp2 it says its not necessary)
this happens on 2 different machines
mach 1: intel nuc i3217u 8GB ram, c drive 128 gb ssd, pic-drive: usb hd with 500 GB
mach 2: i7 2600k, 16 gb ram, cdrive 128 gb ssd, pic drivé: internal 2tb hd or internal ssd 256 gb (makes no difference)on both machines psp x5 system info only shows 4GB ram free so it seems its not really 64 bit programm.
I use CorelDRAW on a daily basis and recently the program takes a lot of time to open/close/save my files, or sometimes it'll simply freeze.

I've created an action that uses the save for web dialogue to optimise images for the web. When I use the batch command to process a full folder of images, even though I have "Override action "save as" command" checked, it ignores this and still uses the location that was used when the action was created.
Apparently this is a known issue in CS6 and previous versions but whether this has been fixed in Photoshop CC?
I have 28 photographs taken sequentialy but not at same intervals; they are part of a collection. I proceed to select all of them and choose "Stacking-Auto stack by capture time..." from the context menu and choose time between stacks as 0:01:00 (one minute)
However I find the capture time of photos in any one stack exceed 1 minute!! For instance, these are the capture times of photos in a single stack:
8:19:12PM, 8:19:25PM, 8:19:43PM, 8:20:24PM, 8:21:19PM, 8:21:45PM
We can clearly see that the capture times between members of this stack are not within 1 minute.
Every time I save I get an "Adobe Save For Web Error" that says "Could not complete this operation. An unknown error has occurred." Below is the system info:

I upgraded to Maverick (Apple OSX) about 2.5 weeks ago. But this problem didn't start until about 3 days ago, so surely that's not the issue.
I work in crop research and have written a code to analyze an RGB image and determine if a pixel is senescence, crop, residue/soil, or shadow. However, this only works if the color is balanced in an image.
I do not know what the technical definition of balanced color is, but to me it relates to the RGB curves one can see in the curves mask. Over the last 5 years a colleague of mine has taken thousands of photos that I need to analyze with my system, unfortunately some have blue hues, some are overexposed, and some are just flat.
Is there any way to apply ratios or mathematical equations to the curves panel so that all images have a similar balance that will work with the code I wrote?
(below I included a few images to give you a feel for the variance)
Temp. Drive Full, File Copy Error?I got this error in CDR XIII. I have checked my Temp Drive Folder in C: I have sufficient space in hard drive but this error occuring again & again & I could not save my hard working graphic files.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the "pull down"menu and select a file format to "save as" The actual file format name is off by 1.
Example: In the pull down "format" menu the order of the formats is
Scitex (sct)TIF
Photoshop 1.0
When saving "test.psd" as a TIF file, the name in the "save as title box gets a .sct extension (Test.sct). In order to actually save as TIF file I need to select Photoshop 1.0 and the title will receive a tiff.
I am using PS CC on Windows7 with a digital board (don´t know if that is correct english, but - with a digital pen, instead of a mouse)When I try to erease, clone or write with the pen tool, nothing is happening where the cursor is, but instead rather far below that point. If I use the mouse, it works well, also the digital pen could be used without any problems to perform other things as changing tools, close an image by clicking the "x", or chose layers or whatever.Changing to PS CS6 the problem disappears - everything works fine.
I have reset the settings by holding shift-ctrl-alt while starting the program.
AND/OR a open tab recovery cache or way to extract the images that get lost during a crash of PDN.
Number two on my list behind your fantastic new layer functionality that I had been dreaming about for three years. I NEVER close PDN. The ONLY time it closes is once every week or two when the 20, 30, 50 tabs that I have open, finally overwhelm my system. I bounce back and forth so much that there is no way to continuously save them as I make changes cause it would jack up my workflow by taking up too much time.
No way around it, this is just how I work. It would be lovely if PDN was able to, similar to After Effects, popup an error box saying it was about to crash and did 'you" want to save the session. Especially, now, with 4, as while it is a super duper version upgrade, the crashes were daily, with me, and I couldn't keep losing that much data. Sophie's choice, for me. The old layer window or daily crashes.
brush painting on adjustment layers is not working at the correct opacity. For example I have it set for 100% but its only working at 10 or 20%. How can I fix this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am facing problem while using Save / Save As / Save for web options in my Photoshop. On clicking Save / Save As commands, my photoshop gets closed abruptly and I am losing all data. If I choose Save for Web option, the file Save dialog box appears and when I click on the 'Save' button, the application gets closed abruptly.
It was working fine yesterday. My version is bundled in the Technical Communicator suite 3.5 and I faced some problems with Adobe Acrobat, for which my IT team took support from Adobe and got it resolved just two days ago. (Case ID - 184809966)
So i created a new project in Illus. CS5 with an artboard size of 700x150 pixels. I have two graphics in there that are about 215 pixels tall so part of it flies off the artboard, but i have a clipping part that hides all the parts that i dont want to see.
The problem is when i go to Save for Web, the ouput image is 700x215 because it includes the space used by the graphics, that fly off the board, but you dont even see it. I was able to get around this by opening the file in photoshop and then cropping to 700x150 so the extra space is removed, but there should be a way to save this in Illus. without the hassel.
I got over 160 color corrected RAW files from my photographer when I thought I was getting TIf or PSD files. I need to put them into an in design doc to send out for printing. Is there a way to convert all of these in one fell swoop without messing up the work that has already been done?
I didn't allow in my timing to save each one individually since i didn't know I was going to need to do this. I am really unfamiliar with batch processing, so how to best go about this, or if I even can. I am working in Photoshop CS6. version 13.06 x 64.
I cannot figure out how to make a batch process do some work on files in a folder, then "Save for Web..." each file into a new folder, without having to hand click on save/etc dialog windows.
I want each out file to have the same name as the input file, but put into a different folder.
On the default, when I open 3D PhotoShop file (created in CS4) The Environment texture of 3D object (created in CS4) has scale equal ZERO (instead 1, as it was in CS4).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the "Place" command to embed my transparent logo into all my images that I post.I hand place the logo in the right bottom corner (not "aligned" as it just pushes the logo too close to the edge). My problem is when I create an action incorporating the "place" command and use it in batching, my "hand" placed logo defaults to the center of the screen which I don't want. Is this a bug. Shouldn't the placement go where I actually place it? I am using percentages to resize so that should not be a problem.
When I use the align tool the batch actually works and places it in the absolute alignment position, but that looks terrible.
Working in CS5.I have a vector image that I need to resize and save as a .png. I first create an artboard to the correct size I need (55x20 pixels), shrink my vector image to fit and then export to .png using the artboard as my boundaries (so that I get the correct size).Problem is, the resulting file is not 55x20, it is 229x83 (when I open in Photoshop). I can't figure out why the file is not saving to the correct size.
I have also tried opening the file in photoshop and resizing down, but that doesn't work either. My image becomes very distorted.I don't generally work in pixels or pngs...what would be the best program and process to do this. It doesn't seem like it should be so difficult, but for some reason it is!
after batch renaming I can't open in photo shop, jpg seems to have gone. Photos will only open in photo viewer. How can I get them back to jpg?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using several resizing and sharpening batch processes which have saved a resultant file at the end with a different name. In the Batch process an original folder was selected and a destination folder and the file name changed with a different custom prefix. I have been using these batch processes with no problems for years. Without warning I have noticed that all of these batches are no longer working and the end result is one file in the destination folder, ie it must me overwriting. I have tried to recreate the basic batch process again and have resorted to using both 'save; and 'save as' at the end of the process in different test batch processes and the same result happens pretty much each time, the one file after the original folder had 5 images. I have noticed that 'Save as' is not showing up in the actions of the batch process (only shows as 'Save' irrespective if you selected 'save' or 'save as'. It is like Photoshop is refusing to accept 'save as' with a new file as a valid action. I have also tried to check the override 'save as' box etc. If you edit normally in Photoshop and 'save as' for that image, there are no problems .
