CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Print Merge Large Files Without Crashing Or Having To Break It Into Digestible Bits

Aug 3, 2011

Just a guess but with 64 bit Coreldraw maybe we would be able to Print Merge large files without crashing or having to break it into digestible bits.

Do vector conversion of complex images.Use Coreldraw like a publishing program,  - kick Indesign

Computer memory is no longer the issue - 32 bit computer programs are.Until then I will stay with X4. run in Windows 7, 64 bit with 12 Gigs RAM.

Photoshop :: CS5 Crashing When Trying To Save And Open Files

Jun 30, 2012

Recently my photoshop CS5 has been playing up and often when I try to save files it will freeze at the point of clicking ok and crash. Today also it crashed when I tried to open a photoshop file. This is incredibly frustrating as I'm a graphic designer and trying to complete some urgent work but I'm getting nowhere because nothing I'm doing is saving and I have to keep starting over. It's literally crashed about 40 times the past day and I'm wasting so many hours that I just don't have.

My version as mentioned is CS5 and I updated it yesterday with no avail.

My laptop is a Mac
info if needed:
Model Name:MacBook Pro  Model Identifier:MacBookPro7,1  Processor Name:Intel Core 2 Duo  Processor Speed:2.4 GHz  Number Of Processors:1  Total Number Of Cores:2  L2 Cache:3 MB  Memory:4 GB  Bus Speed:1.07 GHz  Boot ROM Version:MBP71.0039.B0B  SMC Version (system):1.62f6  Serial Number (system):WQ0422P1ATM  Hardware UUID:92320237-011A-5454-96B7-28704CE335C0  Sudden Motion Sensor: State:Enabled

I don't think I've done anything for this to start happening it just came out of nowhere..I usually only do the same few things with the program and also havn't altered files or even the computer.

Illustrator :: CS5 Crashing When Working With Big Files

Oct 30, 2012

I'm working as a cartographer at Port of Rotterdam and frequently work with big maps in Illustrator CS5. As soon as the file size exceeds 150 MB, and especially when small rasterfiles (mostly jpg's) are placed inside the document, either embedded or not-embedded, me and my colleague get notifications indicating "Can't show preview"or worse: The operation can't be concluded due to lack of RAM (dutch translation). This being a last warningsign just before CS5 collapses and it thus becomes impossible to make any Save on the document....

The hardware we work with: Quad Core 3GHz;NVidia Quadro 1GB;Windows XP with SP3, DirectX9; 8GB int. memory.

Illustrator :: Working With Large Artboards / Files

Dec 2, 2012

I'm currently designing a full size film poster for a client. The dimensions of the poster are 27" x 40" (industry standard film poster).I am a little uncertain in working with large files in Illustrator, so I have several problems that have come up in several design projects using similar large formats.

The file size is MASSIVE. This poster uses several large, high-res images that I've embedded. I didn't want them to pixelate, so I made sure they were high quality. After embedding all these images, along with the vector graphics, the entire .ai file is 500MB. How can I reduce this file size? Can I do something with the images to make the .ai file smaller? I made my artboard 27" x 40" - the final size of the poster. Is this standard practice? Or when designing for a large print format, are you supposed to make a smaller, more manageable artboard size, and then scale up after to avoid these massive file sizes?

I need to upload my support files for the project, including .ai and .eps - so it won't work if they're 500MB. This would be good info to understand for all projects I think.

Illustrator :: CC Very Slow To Open And Save Large Format Files

Feb 19, 2014

I work in a print shop that prints biggish stuff. I will frequently have files that postscript to close to a GB or more. Working on simple vector art with a few images in CC is not too much of a problem, but I still notice CC is slower than CS 6. The big problem is when I get a few 200mb PDF's, or files with layers of transparent PSD files in them etc, big busy files, then AI CC really bogs down, or frequently crashes altogether. CS 6 is MUCH better. I don't have the font issues, AI CC works fine with simple files. Saving & opening these big files is such a problem, I just save them back to CS 6, but that causes problems too, I do not want to, nor should I have to have 2 versions open at the same time.

I always try to optimize the files as best possible, but it is tough sometimes as they R supplied by the customer, and the time it takes. We save to a Windows Server 2008 R2 box over gigabit network, which I know is not best practice, but no choice with the sheer volume of files. Would B insane to try to keep track & copy them back & forth, and it was never a big issue with CS 6. I am the first victim in our office, but the other 3 Mac Pro's will B switching over to CC this week, and I know the operators will B crying.

AutoCAD 2010 :: 2012 Crashing Whenever File Open / Save Or Save As Selected

Jun 27, 2013

I have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS.  I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012.  It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears.  AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager.  I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly.  However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations.  I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop.  AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations.  I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.

Photoshop :: CS6 Crashing When (save For Web)?

Mar 28, 2013

On a MacBook Pro, OSx 10.6.8. Using CS6 on .tifs, resizing the file to 600px wide - approx. 750k file - try to save for web, 80 percent quality and I get the folder screen, but it's open to "documents". Then I get spinning beachball, then CS crashes. Shuts down.

I've tried restarting, no luck. I've had this happen before and I don't remember how it got worked out. I perform this function all the time and there's nothing new in my workflow. I read in another thread about metatag conflicts, and I do process the raws in Capture One before retouching in CS6, but I've done that before without any problem.

Photoshop :: CS6 Crashing And Acting Erratically While Working With 3D

Oct 3, 2012

CS6 keeps crashing and doing crazy things on me while working on my 2D/3D composite digital room setting. It seems to me like what's causing most of the crashing is the materials. Here's the problems:

- Crashes constantly while simply trying to select a material from the 3D panel
- Sometimes places meshes in a totally different spot in the scene and dissallows me to move them elsewhere
- Meshes are gone when opening the file, and I can't get them to reappear

I'm trying to stay composed at this point. My artwork would look great if, well, 3D in CS6 would simply WORK. But I'm remaining calm, and consulting you all..

I'm modeling, texturing, and UV mapping the 3D room objects (such as tables, chairs, hutches, etc.) in Maya 7, exporting as .obj files and placing into PS, and merging them with the scene layer in order for everything to have consistent lighting.I've also tried taking the 3D settings to Basic and the shadow quality to low, in case the crashes are due to cpu performance. I've also went and got the latest update for PS CS6

Here's some system specs:

Win7 Home Premim, 64 bit
2.8ghz Intel Core i7
8gb ram ddr3
NVidia GeForce 310 512 mb

Photoshop :: CS3 Crashing When Working With Vertical Images

Oct 4, 2008

My CS3 has been crashing every single time I work with a portrait style image... I don't have any other issues except this one.

I can open the raw file and edit it, but when I create a new canvas and move the file over into the new canvas it freezes and crashes... I can do the exact same thing with a landscape style image and it never even flinches. My computer easily meets the requirements to run CS3, so I don't know what the issue is since it only occurs with vertical images.

Photoshop :: Working On LARGE Images

Aug 20, 2009

I'm currently working on a huge image and remembered that a version of Photoshop used to have the function that would allow you to open one section of a huge image at a time to work on. From what I can recall you used to go to open the image and a Navigator looking window would pop up and you'd choose which area of the image you would like to work on, click ok and it would load just that area. Is this feature still around?

Photoshop :: Working With Large Formats

Oct 27, 2005

We are having some banners printed over vynil. the art work consist of images of women in lingerie and the brand´s logo. Most of the artwork is 28" x 40" but sometimes we work with larger and odd formats (41" x 168"). The shop that we work with told me to send them the artwork for large formats as tiff @ 85 dpi. I never work below 150 and try to be close to 300dpi when possible.

For example I am sending them a file which is 20" x 48" and for me at 85dpi it looks lousy. Although at 100% it looks fine on the screen.

I arrange my images and logos in freehand (working with photohop and large formats on my PC is painfully slow) and then from there I usually export my artwork as EPS with all the images embeded. (this saves me time)

This particular shop said that they dont want the files in eps
format.

Photoshop :: Working On Large Images...

Nov 18, 2005

I'm going to take a family portrait photo and touch it up a little before printing it. Thing is ... I will be printing at least a size 16'' by 20'' photo. I'm not familiar with working with images this large. When I have it printed I want to be sure that the photo looks clear/normal.

I would appreciate any advice anyone could give me in regard to...

1) What color mode works best for quality printing results

2) How I should crop for best results

3) How to save file to ensure best printing results

Photoshop :: Working With Large Projects

May 20, 2009

I just got a new job doing web development. They asked me at the interview if I knew enough Photoshop to do some basic stuff - crop, resize, export images. I thought I did, but the Photoshop files they are working with are really huge. Whole websites are laid out in thousands of layers, and those layers are organized into layer groups, but not always as logically as one might expect/hope.

Anyway, here's what I'm needing to do, and I was really hoping there might be a magical, easy way to accomplish this. The website is oriented into boxes/sections/modules - call 'em what you will - and each module has info in it. I really just need to select the one section and either create a new project consisting of just those layers, or a way to export just those layers.

Should I create at a smaller size in order to NOT take up so much hard drive space and then allow printer to enlarge.. and if so how do we NOT get the pixelation when going from small to extremely large? Is there a file that can be save as (PDF.. TIFF) that you can enlarge indefinitely like a EPS?
