AutoCad :: Adjust Scaling But Text Didn't Follow
Aug 23, 2011Having problems importing spreadsheet. The scaling of the table is off. The table comes in really small. I tried adjusting the scaling but the text didn't follow.

View 0 RepliesThere is a brick-like pattern on a geological cross section I could draw this in manually but any way to do it automatically so there is a uniform horizontal distance between vertical separators? I tried creating a brick type swatch, but this created horizontal lines which did not follow the curve of the stratum.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi've been using xara pgd for a few months now and absolutely love it. massive jump up from my old program which was very limiting (graphic design is a hobby / business necessity, not my full time gig).
so my first question to you good peeps: i've been trying to "bend" text to follow a radius using 'fit to curve' ... this has been problematic as the text wants to align itself at the end of the curve rather than the middle.
is there another way to bend text to a specified radius?
how can i make this text to "follow" the yellow line ?
without loosing much quality :P
For some reason I am unable to create text to follow a curved path. For example, I created a simple curved line using the shape editor tool. After selecting the completed line I select the main text tool (the other text tool, fit text to curve, is grayed out and not selectable). However, wherever I insert the cursor along the curved line I still end up with a straight line of text. After much experimentation I still cannot figure it out. I know I am leaving out a simple step.

I know you can do these things in photoshop and illustrator but am not sure if they can be done in GIMP!
I'm currently using Autocad 2012, how I can scale a text in viewport whose drawing was referenced in the model view.
fyi the referenced drawing is a survey drawing.
I had started placing dimensions in a drawing before I realized that I had to change the scale of the entire drawing. So now I would like to change the annotative scale of an existing dimension style but I am not clear on how to do it.
This would be for any new dimensions that I add. They continue to appear at the old scale. All of the dimensions are correct I would just like to see the dimensioning scaled up to the proper size for the drawing.
I realize that I could just create a new style but instead would really like to know how to change what I am already using.
When I draw something and try to dimension it.I can not see my text (the dimension) they are too small . How can I adjust the dimension style etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have created my Animation:
The stage size you see above is H: 400px, W: 550px.
I would like for the stage to be smaller, say H:50px./W:400px
Ok so if I change the size of the stage the animation text will not show, so I need to adjust the position of the text in order for the animation text to be visible, but in doing that, I am disrupting the timeline and the animation goes all funny, is there another way of doing this without disrputing the timeline?
Is there any way to adjust width of attribute text so that it is not out of contained block. The attribute is set at left alignment and width factor <=1.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I have to scale something after bringing it in from another drawing (Windows copy, paste), usually (but strangely not always, it seems) the dimension text and arrows are all messed up. If I scale down, they are (obviously) way too big, up, and they are microscopic. How is this best avoided / dealt with? I imagine it is something with the DIMSTYLE not being copied over or something?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when I edit text and dimensions in model space the text will go huge and my text is non-annotative. If i change it in properties box it does not multiple it or if I am editing text though a viewport it will not multiply. Example - if I have style set to 4 (height) and I create mtext.
Then I decide that I want text to be 5 so I double click on mtext and highlight the text and change to 5 and the text will instantly be 200 not 5, but if I change in properties box it will stay at 5 or if I am in a viewport and change the text by double clicking and highlighting and then changing it to 5 it stays at 5. My issue is for whatever reason only in model space is the text being multiplied by a factor and I cannot figure out why this is happening.
How to create a consistent annotation scaling of text and dimensions in a layout drawing in paperspace?
How to update dimensions/annotations scaling in modelspace to create consistant scaling of annotations for an entire drawing that has annotations that have different/inconsistent scaling (arrow size text heights all differ slightly)?
I am trying to enlarge the text from an exported cad drawing from Dialux (lighting calculation software)...it has exported a field of values over a large area but the text is really small and illegible when its plotted as an A1 pdf
Is there anyway to blow all the text values up at once without moving them from their positions with relation to the boundaries of the roads and buildings? Here is a screenshot of the view with CAD...this is a small area of the entire scheme and those little black smudges are the numbers i need to scale
CAD Screenshot.jpg
I guess in a 3D program this would be equivalent to having the pivot point located in the centre of each set of numbers so you could scale them using the centre of each number as its scale point but I am stumped by how to do this in Autocad Architecture 2011..
For some reason I have it in my head that you can put all of your text and dims on in model space, then when scaling your viewports the dims and text will re-size its self automatically for that viewport setting. I.e text will be 25 in model space, but in vieports it will plot at 10 or 2 depending on the viewport setting.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I xref a drawing created by Practicad into my host drawing, the text size shows up less than half its normal size. This occurs regardless of choosing or not choosing any of the radio button options in the proxy info box that pops up when I open the drawing. It happens on both my desktop and laptop. Practicad (MetaLab Inc.) web-x'd into my computer and confirmed the enabler is installed and the issue has noyhing to do with them. My host drawing scale is set to the same scale as the xref.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSeveral times, we generate a drawing, and the text widths in the columns vary greatly. Some have text that is ten characters long, and others have thirty-plus characters.
Is there a way to be able to select the table (or perform the command to all tables in the current layout) and have each of the columns expand to the appropriate width, that depends on the longest string of text in that column, for each column. The problem I see, is that some tables have two columns, some have six, and of course other with any number in between. The same is also true for the amount of rows.
I lost the ruler to adjust the width and length of mtext objects in the editor settings.
How can I get this ruler back?
I use Mtext quite a bit and I am trying to convince others in the office that it's a good thing (versus single line text in long paragraphs). One of their concerns in the shape of the Mtext. For instance, when you use Mtext, you type into a nice rectangle that you can change the size of. What they have to do on occassion is instead of having a nice rectangle of text, they have to make it like a triangle. So in this case, single line text can be adjusted so that the end of the sentences make an angle.
Is there a way to do this using mtext? Or is there an lsp that will work?
Im working for a geological firm that use timescales to describe their work (depths at times etc). I need to compress the time bar but not alter the text but cant find way to do it. Im only scaling in 1 direction.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNew Responsive Scaling feature is great.
It's enabled me to add an Edge Animate file to my responsive Wordpress site using the Edge Suite Plugin.
Only problem for me is that although the 3.7MB file I’ve created scales perfectly on all devices it struggles to play on smartphones. (I assume it's too big and too power hungry to play smoothly on smartphones - even since I've added a pre-loader.)
So, in an ideal world, what I need is a separate low res Edge Animate file that only plays on smartphones.
Failing that, I’d be happy with a 'Down-level Stage' image which could replace the Edge Animate animation.
For a moment I thought I’d found a solution when I came across this Adobe TV movie: [URL]
Unfortunately this clever solution only works when the new Responsive Scaling feature is NOT selected. As soon as it is selected, the animation no longer changes from one layout size to another when the browser window is reduced.
I don’t mind whether the fix is in Edge Animate, Wordpress or the Edge Suite Plugin - I just want a solution!
I have some groups of objects (artistic text, polylines etc.) in CorelDraw X5 and want to resize them.
Resizing the groups reduces/enlarges the font size of the artistic text accordingly. However, is there an option of resizing the groups while keeping the font size the same? In the ideal case I'd like the text to appear where it should in the resized figure but at the same font size.
I've been trying the new 2.8 version of Gimp and find I don't like it. Is there a way to disable some of the new features. For example I don't like the use of group layers. I've gotten used to just seeing all of my layers in a single list and being able to move each one independantly if necessary. Is there a way to disable this feature? Second, I really don't like the need to "export" just because I need to change the file type. I'd rather just save in the file name I need it to be in as it has been done in past versions, this ads extra steps for simply saving a file. Can this also be a disabled feature so that I only have to click save and tell gimp what file to save it as? Third I don't like that the text box shows the font, size etc when on the workspace. It gets in the way when I'm trying to adjust the location of the text. I rather it just have the box and control the font size, color etc from the tool box. Is this a feature that can be disabled as well? In otherwords is it at all possible to revert those features to what it was in 2.6 as far as UI. If not I think I'll have to reinstall 2.6 until I have no choice but to update it and just live with these features despite the fact that they actually make what I do problematic.
