I have some groups of objects (artistic text, polylines etc.) in CorelDraw X5 and want to resize them.
Resizing the groups reduces/enlarges the font size of the artistic text accordingly. However, is there an option of resizing the groups while keeping the font size the same? In the ideal case I'd like the text to appear where it should in the resized figure but at the same font size.
is it me being picky or expecting too much. How come this useful feature of horizontal & vertical scaling of paragraph text fonts still haven't been implemented as of CorelDraw 14? All the other illustration packages support this feature and Corel just never seem to care about it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy boss has produced a layout that has images, artistic text and paragraph text and wants the whole thing half the size. Obviously the paragraph text doesn't just scale down when everything is grouped, do I just select the paragraph text and convert it to artistic text ?
View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen resizing paragraph text, the default is that the shape size changes, but the text properties stay the same, so if it was a 12 pt before, it will be a 12 pt after.
IF you hold ALT while resizing, it will reduce the size of the text and move tabs so that it gives the same appearence as before. This is great. A 12 pt might be reduced to an 8 or 6 pt or less.
BUT if you select the paragraph text with a bitmap OR an Object that completely overlaps it. Holding alt looses the ability to maintain perspective and proper proportions.
I can reproduce on video if you need me to.
Current System: i3 3.07ghz, 3gb ram, Windows 7 32 bit with all updates and X6
What causes corel to crash when resizing or nudging text? And is there a way to prevent this. We are running X5 with newest SP. On brand new windows 7 64bit Quad Core AMD, 6GB ram.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am creating a text document with Xara Xtreme Pro 9, and I noticed that I can insert groups into floating text. Great, I can use this for inserting Xara graphics, for example a chart!
However, editing a chart is a pain. When I double click on the group, then the surrounding text disappears, i.e. everything outside of the group. However, that is not sufficient. For example, I would like to be able to define horizontal guides that don't move (relative to the chart) when the chart's position changes relative to the page. Is that somehow possible?
As a workaround, I guess I could put the chart on a separate page at the end of the document, and then insert a live copy into the text.
I'm trying to finally utilize iLogic and all of its functionality (after using the basic features of inventor for the past 3 or so years) and I was wondering if there was a way to use iLogic (or some other feature for inventor) to resize text in a title block field of an IDW based on the length of the text entered (i.e. if the part's name was "Cam Retainer" the text height would be .12, but if its part name was "Spacer Cam Retainer Bushing" the text height would shrink down to .085 or something) so that it would still fit nicely into the text block?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOK. I know how to make a Pen Outline scale with an object when I create the pen outline. But is there a way to give the scale with object attribute to all pen outlines in a compound object such as a vector clipart I purchase (or even some of the Corel clipart)? The most recent example is a state highway map I just downloaded. All the roads, lakes, rivers, county lines, etc. are created with pen outlines, but none of them scale when I scale the map larger or smaller. As you can guess there are literally tens of thousands of them on the map. Is there a way to make all of them scale without also making them all the same color and thickness?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using Coreldraw for a few years now but I have never had a problem with scaling images. I created a circle and added some shapes to it. There is spacing between the shapes and the circle and they do not touch each other. When the image is at page size and it looks fine. But when I scaled it down using the shift key the shapes in my images touch the side of the circle and the spacing is gone. This is not what I want. There needs to be spacing between the shapes and the circle. I have included a sample of what I am talking about. How to make Coreldraw scale images properly?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just learned (after 16 years...) that it's been possible to drill down through successive compound objects within groups without using the new V7 feature "Edit inside".
I'd always used Ctrl+Click within a group to select the object in it I want, but could never select just a group that was within--only a single object. But apparently Ctrl+Click is only intended to select the bottom-most (leaf) object of the group (tree). If instead you use Ctrl+Alt+Click, you can click through each level of a group.
So for example if you made two groups of 3 objects and then grouped the two groups together, you can select the whole group first, then one of the other groups within, then one of the objects within that group.
I can't believe I didn't know this. Shows what I know. And what amazes me more is that I didn't figure it out given that you can Alt+Click to select through overlapping objects.
Im working for a geological firm that use timescales to describe their work (depths at times etc). I need to compress the time bar but not alter the text but cant find way to do it. Im only scaling in 1 direction.

It's enabled me to add an Edge Animate file to my responsive Wordpress site using the Edge Suite Plugin.
Only problem for me is that although the 3.7MB file I’ve created scales perfectly on all devices it struggles to play on smartphones. (I assume it's too big and too power hungry to play smoothly on smartphones - even since I've added a pre-loader.)
So, in an ideal world, what I need is a separate low res Edge Animate file that only plays on smartphones.
Failing that, I’d be happy with a 'Down-level Stage' image which could replace the Edge Animate animation.

Unfortunately this clever solution only works when the new Responsive Scaling feature is NOT selected. As soon as it is selected, the animation no longer changes from one layout size to another when the browser window is reduced.
I don’t mind whether the fix is in Edge Animate, Wordpress or the Edge Suite Plugin - I just want a solution!
I'm currently using Autocad 2012, how I can scale a text in viewport whose drawing was referenced in the model view.
fyi the referenced drawing is a survey drawing.
I had started placing dimensions in a drawing before I realized that I had to change the scale of the entire drawing.So now I would like to change the annotative scale of an existing dimension style but I am not clear on how to do it.
This would be for any new dimensions that I add.They continue to appear at the old scale. All of the dimensions are correct I would just like to see the dimensioning scaled up to the proper size for the drawing.
I realize that I could just create a new style but instead would really like to know how to change what I am already using.
CorelDrawX6 user reporting that she imports a PDF file into CorelDrawX6 (Windows 7 pro, 64-bit system, version is X6 with update 2 and Hot patch applied, Windows OS is fully updated). Taking a pdf file scaling up to full scale, she is not getting the correct measurements. She tested it to see if the same thing happened on another user's computer that is XP Pro XP3 with CorelDraw X5 and it does not have the same issue.
So it may be in CorelDraw X6 (she moved to X6 recently). Also, she said it does not happen consistently. Yesterday this was a problem, today with the same file it appears to be OK.
Having problems importing spreadsheet. The scaling of the table is off. The table comes in really small. I tried adjusting the scaling but the text didn't follow.
View 0 Replies View RelatedFor years I was using an older version of PS. I am new to CS6 Photoshop. I cannot figure out how to resize a text box. When I chose the box with the text tool, the borders of the box do not show up. To see the border I must hold down the option + command keys. I cannot change the size of the box without scaling the type.
Also, when I click the box with the move tool, I cannot see the border of the text box. I cannot even copy the text box.
Is there a way in CorelDRAW, that the resize option, the one we do by pulling all the arrows from the corners, offsets the objects equally. If I copy paste and resize the rectangle it does unequal offsets. I know the contour command, but is there any way to customize the resize command?

Once upon a time a professional told me to import images to corel in the correct resolution and not to downsize them within corel because the quality will be worse then. Is this really true? Or is it no problem to downsize any image or upsize an image that has a big DPI?

The problem I have is that if change the page size the contents get centered in the page so I have to move the back to their positions. IE if I have some text 1 inch from the top of the page and I make the page 2 inches taller my text is now 2 inches from the top of the page. Is there a way to tell CorelDraw to just add 2 inches to the bottom of the page and not reposition everything?

Also is it possible to set restraints to an object so that it can only be resized in proportion to itself, i.e. it can only be resized using the diagonal points rather the horizontal/vertical points as this may alter the object (e.g. squash or stretch the object).
When I have to scale something after bringing it in from another drawing (Windows copy, paste), usually (but strangely not always, it seems) the dimension text and arrows are all messed up. If I scale down, they are (obviously) way too big, up, and they are microscopic. How is this best avoided / dealt with? I imagine it is something with the DIMSTYLE not being copied over or something?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when I edit text and dimensions in model space the text will go huge and my text is non-annotative. If i change it in properties box it does not multiple it or if I am editing text though a viewport it will not multiply. Example - if I have style set to 4 (height) and I create mtext.
Then I decide that I want text to be 5 so I double click on mtext and highlight the text and change to 5 and the text will instantly be 200 not 5, but if I change in properties box it will stay at 5 or if I am in a viewport and change the text by double clicking and highlighting and then changing it to 5 it stays at 5. My issue is for whatever reason only in model space is the text being multiplied by a factor and I cannot figure out why this is happening.

I am trying to enlarge the text from an exported cad drawing from Dialux (lighting calculation software)...it has exported a field of values over a large area but the text is really small and illegible when its plotted as an A1 pdf
Is there anyway to blow all the text values up at once without moving them from their positions with relation to the boundaries of the roads and buildings? Here is a screenshot of the view with CAD...this is a small area of the entire scheme and those little black smudges are the numbers i need to scale

I guess in a 3D program this would be equivalent to having the pivot point located in the centre of each set of numbers so you could scale them using the centre of each number as its scale point but I am stumped by how to do this in Autocad Architecture 2011..
For some reason I have it in my head that you can put all of your text and dims on in model space, then when scaling your viewports the dims and text will re-size its self automatically for that viewport setting. I.e text will be 25 in model space, but in vieports it will plot at 10 or 2 depending on the viewport setting.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I xref a drawing created by Practicad into my host drawing, the text size shows up less than half its normal size. This occurs regardless of choosing or not choosing any of the radio button options in the proxy info box that pops up when I open the drawing. It happens on both my desktop and laptop. Practicad (MetaLab Inc.) web-x'd into my computer and confirmed the enabler is installed and the issue has noyhing to do with them. My host drawing scale is set to the same scale as the xref.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy character box says my font is size 12 but when I try to place it on my icon it almost fills it at 100x100.
When I try the same on a different pic, it comes out the right size.
This is happening on photoshop and jpg files. As far as I'm aware all settings are the same. I tried reseting the text tool, but it's still the same. This only happens on some files. Is there a option i've ticked by mistake? I've had PS a few monts but not had this before.
I'm fairly new to PS and I wonder if someone could explain this behavior:
I started out with black vector text and a logo in Illustrator. I rasterized it and saved it as an EPS. I opened the EPS in PS 7, specifying dpi of 600 with anti-alias checked. (I'm not quite sure why it then rasterized a file that was already rasterized, but that's another question).
On my screen, it looks great! I zoomed in close and the edges are nice and smooth. However, when I try to resize it to be smaller so I can use it on the web, it falls apart. The edges become very jagged and when I do Save to Web and put it on a web page, it is very fuzzy.
I've resized color images before for the web without this fuzziness. Am I getting this effect because it is black and white? I thought trying to resize it to be a bigger image results in poorer quality, not resizing it to be smaller.
Is there some technique I'm missing?
