I eventually intend to use the dynamic simulator tool to animate my full model. Is there a way to use the connection parameters in this environment to enable the roller to follow the correct path.

I have existing drawings that I copy and manipulate into new ones. I have a drawing of a conveyor line that has some segments "highlighted" with a yellow hatch that appears to follow a single line. The conveyor layout has been changed. So I need to update the drawing for the new layout. I'm wondering how this was drawn. I cannot explode the hatch to copy parts of it. I'm thinking there was probably a simple way to get the hatch to follow the drawn line. Putting boundaries around the drawn line to hatch in would be rather time consuming. Is there a simple function I don't know about?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to draw or stretch a line or grip along an object in 2013 it does not follow the osnap like it does in 2012. For instance if I draw a line and then want to draw another line from the beginning of that line along that line using the nearest osnap and inputting a distance, the line follows the cursor rather than the snap.

so my first question to you good peeps: i've been trying to "bend" text to follow a radius using 'fit to curve' ... this has been problematic as the text wants to align itself at the end of the curve rather than the middle.
is there another way to bend text to a specified radius?
Having problems importing spreadsheet. The scaling of the table is off. The table comes in really small. I tried adjusting the scaling but the text didn't follow.
View 0 Replies View RelatedWhen making a line longer with no dims on the line whats the best way to do this? Stretch command or grab one end point and type the legnth you want the line to be longer by? ie: 2" long line needs the be 2-1/2" long
I will use the stretch command without problems. 2" long line: stretch command: type .5, line is now 2-1/2" long
We have a drafter (uses 2011LT) that will grab one end point stretch the line in the direction they want the change, type the added length and the line goes to the added length..2" long line: grab right side point stretch line to right: type .5, line is now 1/2" long
They use quick properties but they don't type the change in it, they type it in the command line.
They donot stretch first they just grab the point and move to the right and type .5" and the 2" line is now .5" lone when it should be 2-1/2" long. They do not have the dynamic input on. could that be the issue? When I do the same my 2" line becomes 2-1/2" long. What would be causing the difference? This just started a few days ago after we did the update for 2011LT
For some reason I am unable to create text to follow a curved path. For example, I created a simple curved line using the shape editor tool. After selecting the completed line I select the main text tool (the other text tool, fit text to curve, is grayed out and not selectable). However, wherever I insert the cursor along the curved line I still end up with a straight line of text. After much experimentation I still cannot figure it out. I know I am leaving out a simple step.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way with DB's to have a line "follow" or "grow" with the content/value length of an attribute. Maybe some method of linking the attribute width to length of the line? Essentially, it would work just like turning on the underline setting when typing in mtext editor (or any program with an underline option for that matter), expect that the line could be placed anywhere, and would not have to reside directly below the text.

The problem happens in different blocks created in Autocad 2009. I need to make blocks with many visibilities and, sometimes, only a few lines need to be turned invisible from a visibility state. Many times when I remove the visibility of a line from a single visibility state, the line erased on all the visibility states. I make my lines "all visible" and it's not there anymore.
The problem is probably in my block since it's doing the same problem on someone else's computer. If the problem is my block, is there a way to "uncorrupt" it?
