I've never worked with 3D effect before (not even in the earlier versions), until now when I finally need it. I've therefore searched the Internet and the Adobe Forums in order to get to know how to wrap a text/image around a glass bottle in Photoshop CS6. I've found several answers and tutorials, but none of them regards CS6 or they are simply too primitive, whereby the effect is too fake. But when I try follow the instructions in the explanations/tutorials I've found so far for earlier versions of Photoshop (especially regarding 3D effects), I can't find the right buttons, commands, etc. - I can't make it work. how to do wrap a text/image around a bottle/cylinder/object in Photoshop CS6?

I've attached a picture.
I did not look after an particle method because I like the scatter's feature of putting things only on the selected face.
I need to wrap some curve on a cylinder, after which i need to emboss the feature onto the cylinder.
I had sketches the curve and wrap it but was unable to emboss it to the cylinder.
Edited: I tried the boundary patch command. I was only managed to thicken/offset and then substract one patch with another one failed.
I need to uv wrap a cylinder to make a ciggerette how can you do this so i can get the texture of the actual ciggerette paper?

Actually so it appears to be a logo on a baseball cap. I need to give the layer a slight curved effect with a touch of perspective distortion on the ends.
I've figured out how to wrap a label around a cylinder using a 3D Photoshop layer but what I can't figure out is what ratio and size that label needs to be.
For example I have a cylinder and have loaded the texture from the Photoshop document into the Opacity section in the Properties tab but rather than it being in proportion with the cylinder it seems to stretch it. So have to edit the label document and squash the actual label, which I know is not the correct way of doing it.
I want to wrap a text and Photoshop logo on a bottle and then rotate it so the image can be seen from different sides

I want to map a leaf image to a leaf mesh. The difficulty is that the image and the mesh are from different leaves, besides the mesh is 3D which means it is not planar, so how to ahieve that?
There are two files in the attachments, the first leaf's image, the second leaf's model image.
How to unite the red and green parts of the leaf into one solid green leaf? See attached “Leaf” file. (How do I attach the AI file?)
I tried the Pathfinder UNITE command and the Live Paint MERGE command.

I'm trying to slice the grey cylinder object in the attached drawing with a curved network surface. Rather than slice around the path of the surface it seems to have just taken a planar slicing plane between the 2 vertical edges of the network surface.
In inventor 2013 I want to extrude a horizontal circle on surface of a bigger vertical hollow cylinder. but what i did it enters into cylinder, and i only want to extrude it on external surface.

I've got a bunch of bowls and dishes that have been photographed in a perspective view. That is they're not photographed from a top down or profile view. I'd like to place a pattern around the bowl but how do you make the pattern bend and follow the contours of the bowl accordingly?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have to animate a long tentacle like object eminating from something , wrapping around another object and pulling it backwards. I have been looking at splineIK,pflow and some other approaches but they only cover part of the animation I need.
I am playing with PFlow and I can get something to spawn along a spline path to wrap around the object but not sure how to simulate the thing retracting and pulling the object with it.
I know there must be a better way to do this.
I am trying to use conform, but when I pick the wrap to object, it inherits the material of the wrapper object. I am using active viewport and I am aligned directly over the object to be wrapped to. What am I doing wrong?
my specs are this quad processors, 8 Gb RAM, windows xp64bit, 3ds max 2011
Is there a way I could wrap a stencil around the object ?
For instance.. on a cube.. I use the stencil, straight line to wax a hard surface.
But on the edges, it breaks because it projects from the front.
any way to wrap the stencil around the object so the line continues without breaking on the edges ?
I am trying to use it to do something for school. I imported a 3d object from a dwg file and there is a channel that curves along it cut into that. I want to move a cylinder in this channel. I cannot seem to find anything that will allow me to make a spline that mirrors the edge of the object or to constrain the cylinder to the object.

The entire guitar has been constructed as PS illustrations. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a photograph of a jar and a smart object which is my label. If I go: >3D >New mesh from layer >Mesh preset >Cylinder - then the label is wrapped around the cylinder and is actually perfect - job done.
Questions:
- How to I make the Cylinder transperant so I only see the label
- How do I get out of the 3D window so I can place my wrapped label on the photograph of the jar?
I can't work this out (I have previous experience with Cinema 4d and Modo) or find instructions/YouTube videos that make sense.
I'm using CS3 extended and would like to wrap a logo around a circular object.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to wrap some 2D text around an object, which has perspective. See example below:
The above is my attempt at wrapping the word "NEIGHBORHOOD" around the object. What I did was Object > Envelope Distort > Make with Mesh... and just approximated how it should look by using a combination of guides. There has got to be a better, more precise way of doing this in illustrator.
I have a created a spiral path and added type to it. This spiral circles a planet-like object. This object is not completely circular, therefore overlaps some of the spiral. I would like the type on the spiral to wrap these protrusions. And I have tried the usual way of applying a text wrap (object > text wrap > make). The type on path doesn't seem to recognize the text wrap.

Easy enough in ID and Ill, sure. However, how do you wrap text around an irregular shaped object in Photoshop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like a more intuitive way to set up UV maps in Maya. It seems to me that there should be a process similar to using low polygon models as wrap deformers. Basically I figure that the low polygon would act as a projection wrap allowing for less UVs to adjust but enabling a very good flow of the texture map around any polygon, subdivision, and NURBS model of any complexity. Is there such a thing? If not, is there a way I can convert a wrap deformer to be a UV projection object?
