I am attempting to wrap some 2D text around an object, which has perspective. See example below:
The above is my attempt at wrapping the word "NEIGHBORHOOD" around the object. What I did was Object > Envelope Distort > Make with Mesh... and just approximated how it should look by using a combination of guides. There has got to be a better, more precise way of doing this in illustrator.
Easy enough in ID and Ill, sure. However, how do you wrap text around an irregular shaped object in Photoshop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a created a spiral path and added type to it. This spiral circles a planet-like object. This object is not completely circular, therefore overlaps some of the spiral. I would like the type on the spiral to wrap these protrusions. And I have tried the usual way of applying a text wrap (object > text wrap > make). The type on path doesn't seem to recognize the text wrap.

I've therefore searched the Internet and the Adobe Forums in order to get to know how to wrap a text/image around a glass bottle in Photoshop CS6. I've found several answers and tutorials, but none of them regards CS6 or they are simply too primitive, whereby the effect is too fake. View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the perspective grid to make a 3d looking building. I want to use a brick pattern for the sides of the building. I am having trouble makeing this look right when the perspective is skewed a lot (see right brick wall), the left brick wall isn't too bad. I used an envelope mesh 1 2 rows and 1 column. Is this the only way to preserve pattern when skeweing an object?

I'm trying to wrap an image around a curved object. This is a front elevation of a sign I am attempting to render and the sign wraps around a pole. What I am attempting to do is not just "squeeze" the copy but actually attempt to show what the image will look like if you are looking directly at it which means that the closest portion of the image will look normal but as you look further out towards the edges then the graphic and copy would appear to merge and disappear backwards. I hope I am explaining this well. I am trying to wrap my brain around this concept. I know you can do this in photoshop with stretching but cannot fathom how I can attempt this in CorelDraw or Illustrator.

Towards the end of the video (7:00) a sign is mapped to the left grid then moved perpendicular along the right grid ... this is achieved by holding down the tilde key.
When I hold down the tilde key and move the object (which is selected with the perspective selection tool, with the correct grid selected ) it does not map it perpendicular as in the video.
I have deleted my illustrator preferences file (in case any settings were causing this feature not to work). Also if I create a new object and press the tilde key and drag I can create multiple instances, so the tilde key at least in this case is being recognized.
In Photoshop, you can transform a layer by pressing ctrl while you click in the border of the object. I would like to do it on Illustrator CS6, is there anything like this tool available?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to do a text wrap in Illustrator. Everything is on one layer. Both items I wish to wrap text around are above the text itself. The text is actually the bottom component in the layer. Each of the two items is a graphic with text and each is grouped prior to asking it to wrap text. The text wraps just fine around one item, but will not wrap around the second item. I earlier had created a very similar file and the text wrapped fine around both items, so I know it can. But it doesn't want to in this instance.

If I draw a rectangle and use Extrude&Bevel to create a 3D "box" shape, how do I wrap a single line of text around three of the sides? I've created a Symbol from the text, and it shows up in the "Map Art" dialog window's "Symbols" selection, but only one face of the 3D box is shown at a time. I was hoping to see a flattened box shape showing all six faces so I could accurately place the line of text. Similar to what you see when you revolve a path to get a 3D object.
It's even worse if I apply a bevelled edge to the extrusion -- then there are 40 separate "faces" to deal with.
I want to create a text wrap - or drop cap - for a giant letter B. But I can't figure out how to do it, and every tutorial I see for drop caps refers to InDesign, and those steps do not work in Illustrator.

Looking at the AI file available here (in the Public folder of my Dropbox), why the text takes a gradient when I place it on a perspective grid? I'm not able to see anything in the Appearance panel that gives me a hint. It may be obvious to someone without even needing to open the file . . . see pictures attached.

I am playing with PFlow and I can get something to spawn along a spline path to wrap around the object but not sure how to simulate the thing retracting and pulling the object with it.

For instance.. on a cube.. I use the stencil, straight line to wax a hard surface.
But on the edges, it breaks because it projects from the front.

The entire guitar has been constructed as PS illustrations. The strings are a four layer smart object bent from the Nut to the tuning pegs with Puppet warp, but I need to curve the strings around the pegs to look like they have been wound.
