Illustrator :: Wrap Text Around Object With Perspective?
Mar 9, 2014I am attempting to wrap some 2D text around an object, which has perspective. See example below:
The above is my attempt at wrapping the word "NEIGHBORHOOD" around the object. What I did was Object > Envelope Distort > Make with Mesh... and just approximated how it should look by using a combination of guides. There has got to be a better, more precise way of doing this in illustrator.
Illustrator :: Text Taking A Gradient When Placed In Perspective
Jun 13, 2013Looking at the AI file available here (in the Public folder of my Dropbox), why the text takes a gradient when I place it on a perspective grid? I'm not able to see anything in the Appearance panel that gives me a hint. It may be obvious to someone without even needing to open the file . . . see pictures attached.

Jun 28, 2006How do I make the frame & photo rounded just like they did in the following template I'm working on in Flash. They say they did it in Photoshop.
I used the rectangel tool and it always makes the photo inside out. I need it to round the edges not hide the photo. Is there a way to show the middle of the photo and then make a frame like they did on the website?
I'm using Photo Shop Elements.
Illustrator :: Pixels Being Rounded Down?
Aug 9, 2013I'm trying to copy an exact measurement from one item to another but Illustrator is rounding the measurements down to the cloest decimal pont. For example I want my icon to sit on 66.21 px but it rounds it down to 66 px. Below in the middle is the icon that I amtrying to align. I want the 4 red squares to sit in the same middle as the stroked sqaure surrounding it. The surrounding sqaure is expanded because I am using this at various sizes and want the stroke to be consistent.

Unfortunately, I've decided that I want it to feel "taller" than when I started, so I need to shift the perspective. However, when I use the Perspective Grid Tool and adjust the ground or horizon line, it only adjusts the grid, not the artwork. Is there a way to have the artwork adjust with the grid so that I can move the artwork around in 3D space to find the right perspective?

Mar 11, 2014I am using the perspective grid to make a 3d looking building. I want to use a brick pattern for the sides of the building. I am having trouble makeing this look right when the perspective is skewed a lot (see right brick wall), the left brick wall isn't too bad. I used an envelope mesh 1 2 rows and 1 column. Is this the only way to preserve pattern when skeweing an object?

Feb 25, 2013Using Inkscape, I can easily create an hexagon with rounded courners. The result in below in yellow (the right hexagon). It's possible to see that not only the corners are rounded, but the entire shape is (the lines around the hexagon aren't completely straight). I am now trying to acheive the same effect with Illustrator CS6, but I can't find out how. The closest I got is the white hexagon below (on the left). The corners are rounded but the lines are straight.
How can I create an hexagon identical to the one in yellow above with Illustrator?

Jan 18, 2014The issue I am having is trying to draw a rounded rectangle and it becomes a perfect circle. I was wondering if this warning below has anything to do with that. I have a project for school that needs to be in by tomorrow and I can't proceed until I find the answer to my problem.
Illustrators Options:
I am using Illustrator CS6 in the options field under the version catagory.
Warning: Saving to a legacy format found may cause some changes your text layout and disable some editing features is read back in. Also any hidden Appearance attributes will be discarded.
Only fonts with appropriate permisssion will be embedded.
This is what I see when I try to save in Illustrator options.

(I'm not too concerned at this stage with the squeezing effect on the text)
Adding a stroke layer style (then adding a second one) sort of works, but the corners are rounded - I want them (as in the Fforde book example) to follow the crisp corners of the font itself.

Feb 6, 2014How to use the perspective tool and i understand that i can draw a grid onto this but the grid always seems to be out of whack when i do and the line spacing isn't at all perfect. What i want to be able to do is draw a grid with equal spacing and have the ability to warp this so it looks all bent up going off into the distance.
I can see this is going to be something that i have to draw in manually but i'm kind of hoping that i can have the bulk of the job done for me.
However, if i do have to draw it manually, how would i go about spacing the lines equally along a wafty curved line???

Another question: If you write a square with the rectangle tool in illustrator and you select a face in the left up corner, is there a way to make the square how can i explain... You move the swuare on theat face with the mouse and when it reach the "border" it will start move on the other face, just like a wall, if you put a piece of pare in a corner, the paper will assume the shape of the corner. Is it possible to do this instead of create 2 square and merge them in the corner?
Illustrator :: Cannot Transform Objects In Perspective Anymore
Jul 2, 2012I'm trying to make a 3D cross section of a building in Illustrator CS5 and I've gotten a lot done already, but now I cannot transform the objects in 3D perspective space.
See Attachment: I can draw and position them in perspective, but when I select the "Perspective Selection Tool (red)" and select an object, the handles in the corners / sides are not visible anymore (blue).
