I want to wrap label on the cylindrical shape object.

I would like to know how can put planar surface to solid object which surface is curved like cylinder for example. When start draw from first point rectangle of planar surface follow x cordinate not that solid object. How to do that simply?

I'm trying to slice the grey cylinder object in the attached drawing with a curved network surface. Rather than slice around the path of the surface it seems to have just taken a planar slicing plane between the 2 vertical edges of the network surface.
I've never worked with 3D effect before (not even in the earlier versions), until now when I finally need it. I've therefore searched the Internet and the Adobe Forums in order to get to know how to wrap a text/image around a glass bottle in Photoshop CS6. I've found several answers and tutorials, but none of them regards CS6 or they are simply too primitive, whereby the effect is too fake. But when I try follow the instructions in the explanations/tutorials I've found so far for earlier versions of Photoshop (especially regarding 3D effects), I can't find the right buttons, commands, etc. - I can't make it work. how to do wrap a text/image around a bottle/cylinder/object in Photoshop CS6?

And I want to "wrap" a circular logo to the mug to make it look like the logo is imprinted on the mug. What's the best way of going about this so it doesn't look like it was a poor photoshop hack?
What I have figured so far is to use the Edit / Transform / Perspective to squish the bottom and widen the top to give the perspective. And then I go to Edit / Transform / Scale and squish it vertically.
Heres what I end up with:
Not bad but it could be better. Photoshop CS 5.5
I have a layer that I need to transform so it appears to be wrapping around a cylinder like a pop can.
Actually so it appears to be a logo on a baseball cap. I need to give the layer a slight curved effect with a touch of perspective distortion on the ends.
I've figured out how to wrap a label around a cylinder using a 3D Photoshop layer but what I can't figure out is what ratio and size that label needs to be.
For example I have a cylinder and have loaded the texture from the Photoshop document into the Opacity section in the Properties tab but rather than it being in proportion with the cylinder it seems to stretch it. So have to edit the label document and squash the actual label, which I know is not the correct way of doing it.
I need to uv wrap a cylinder to make a ciggerette how can you do this so i can get the texture of the actual ciggerette paper?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI do a ton of rendering for my work. We have many curved surfaces within our product line. My problem is that, A lot of times my materials (jpeg's) warp and blur when added to a curve. My guess is it has something to do with the UCS orientation because if i rotate the curve to be parralell with the current UCS, the material shows up how it should, Until i change the UCS back to world.
Same Image material, Surface on left is curved and surface on right is flat. Warp.jpg
I need to wrap some curve on a cylinder, after which i need to emboss the feature onto the cylinder.
I had sketches the curve and wrap it but was unable to emboss it to the cylinder.
Edited: I tried the boundary patch command. I was only managed to thicken/offset and then substract one patch with another one failed.
How we can WRAP a 3D object around a cylinder in either Autocad or Inventor!!!!
For instance, how we can wrap a 3d tree/leaf around a cylinder (see the attachment).
I want to extrude a big number of pillars to a rather complicated surface and that works out fine. But each end of the pillars warps around the surface and I want them just to go up to it and stop with a resulting horizontal face.

View 2 Replies View Relatedhow I can add more volume to curved object surface? Say for example I have a plastic cup.You can think of this as cylinder object ,which was the shelled out using the shell tool and then had its base sealed.
Now at certain parts, I would like to increase the thickness and then blend it the rest of the surface(may be chamfer its edges) .
At certain parts on curved surface I would like to add an extra mm, I think if the surface was flat I would just sketch the shape, then extrude it by few mm and smooth the edges by doing a chamfer
But how can this be done on surface that is curved? Or multi curved for edges?
I'm designing a press for a skateboard similar to: Rib Press
I have the board modeled: (see attached)
Now what i want to do is generate those ribs as seen in the picture.
I tried creating a block that intersected with the board and tried to split the rib at the surface, but to no avail. I think the issue has something to do with the curve of the board in two directions, but i can't seem to get it right.
if you are having trouble visualizing what i'm asking about, look at this. I want to be able to figure out the exact shape of those center ribs to print and eventually cut out of wood.
If you look in the attached PDF, I have an elliptical wall that also has changes in elevation. call it a compound radius if you will. What I have to do is to make a wall cap to go on top of the wall. I know, sounds fun.....I have the surface on the right of the PDF and i need to figure out how i can take that shape and have it lay flat so that i can cut this shape out on my CNC. i know I can use the FLATSHOT command, but this will not give me the true shape of the board.

What I am attempting to do is not just "squeeze" the copy but actually attempt to show what the image will look like if you are looking directly at it which means that the closest portion of the image will look normal but as you look further out towards the edges then the graphic and copy would appear to merge and disappear backwards. I hope I am explaining this well. I am trying to wrap my brain around this concept. I know you can do this in photoshop with stretching but cannot fathom how I can attempt this in CorelDraw or Illustrator.

Is there any way / trick to wrap a 2D sketch to a non-flat/cylindrical/conical face? See attached part. I'd like wrap the lines in Sketch2 to the ring's outer face in order to get a proper path for "engraving". I see no other way to get a proper path for sweep, because project along vector won't work.

how to draw the "slot" I know in solid works i can "project" onto the surface and then so a cut.
I have a curved surface and I don't know a right way to export it. If it like Editable Poly then I have a mesh in DWG. Then I set to Faceted and optimized then merge faces (to receive one face) and then convert to surface but after that I have a surface with multiple triangles. This is one way which I use, I tried many ways but I have the same results.
This is what I have after export from 3DS MAX (same as DWG, SAT, IGS)
