View 4 Repliesi was asked to assist with plotting some coordinated on a drawing, the catch is i need to re orientate the UCS with Y+ at the top of the screen, X+ to the right, Y- to the bottom and X- to the left..
I managed to get this part right, that was the easy part.....
However when i went to put any Dimension or even Text on the drawing it was Backwards and Upside Down.
I have added a small screenshot for reference ....
When I try to use the Send to Back command (HOME - MODIFY - DRAWORDER) then I get the notification in the Command line: "Command: Unknown command "FRONT". Press F1 for help."
Is this normal? or is this a bug in version 2013
I regularly generate models which have a front end (body) of a known shape but differing in size, to a back end (shank) again of a known shape but differing size.
So, is it possible to take pre-drawn blanks of both front end (body) and back end (shank) to join them up to create a new model/part? I'm assuming it's combine bodies but I'm not sure how it works!!
I'm trying to print a flyer that has art on the front and back. I copied the images to Microsoft Word on page one and two. I then printed page one and then turned the page over and printed page two on the back. Though I have the same settings for page one and two, it's not aligning.
Is there another way to do this so I can get perfect alignment for the front and back of the page. Can I do this with Photoshop or should I use a table in Microsoft Word or should I use another program altogether like Adobe Pagemaker or Quarkexpress.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with the Paste in Front/Back function. I will copy my selected layers and then want to paste them in place on the selected artboard next to it and often times it pastes it back on the artboard where it copies from. Sometimes the function does what I want, but often times it pastes in a different location, either on the same artboard, or next to the artboard where I want it pasted. It also tends to slightly move the X and Y values (again, sometimes). Each time I go to paste, I am creating a new layer and selecting the artboard where I want everything pasted, but sometimes it works, and other times it doesn't. I am using CS5 on MacBook Pro.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHow can I get multiple images on 1 page to line up when printing on both sides? Dimensions are 3.5x2.5, 9 to a page. They are sportscards for son's baseball team. They are slightly off by 2-3 cm on all 4 sides and in betweeen. Extremely frustrating. I tried printing in Photoshops but text is blurry. In Lightroom, Images look absolutely perfect. If they would only line up. Using a Canon MG 6200 if that matters.

I used to go: TOOLS > DRAWING ORDER, in order to bring an object to the back or the front of another object.

I'm using CS3 on a Mac.
I outlined my text and subtracted it (and the tree image) from the black background. When I did this both appear thinner - particularly the tree.
If I then take the original version and the new subtracted version, and view them both overlayed one on top of the other in wire frame (outline) mode, there is no difference in the actual lines.
It seems to be a problem with the way illustrator previews the images. This wouldn't concern me, but when I export the file as a jpeg, the lines also appear thinner in the export.
I can create a manual solution by offsetting the path before subtracting, but this isn't ideal.
I'll describe what I'm trying to do because it seems like it should be very easy...
I have a 1/4" thick panel, 24"x12". I'm trying to apply text to the front of this solid, then engrave the letters through the 1/4" panel. If I right-click to customize the ribbon, I can select the text button, but it is grayed out. This seems like such a simple task, I'm wondering why I'm struggling with it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been capturing data for measured building surveys with a Leica total station (TS06). When I upload the data into autocad i can see the node points (+) and text in the top view. When switch to look at the points from the front view (to produce an elevation), the text and points appear as a flat line, although the insertion point of the node/text is still correct. I need to find a way of rotating the text and points so they are visible in this view. I will then flatten the points and cut them to the top view to produce a 2d elevation.
we had a toolbar with a button to perform this function. However, now i don't have the toolbar,
why I can't export the "Distance 1" attribute out of thsi drawing using the ATTOUT command. I need to build a series of constrained drawings using Dynamic blocks so I can send info from an Excel spreadsheet back and forth bewteen a drawing. I think I'll have to buy a 3rd party utility for that but for now, how to simply get the info out of ACAD and into Excel thsat would be a great start.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a drawing with 3 different dynamic blocks for several weeks and everything has been working perfectly. However, all of a sudden this afternoon, the text in all 3 dynamic blocks disappeared and will not display on the screen in paper or model space, and does not print.
As best I recall, I was creating a polyline viewport when this text disappeared.
I cannot turn the text on in these dynamic blocks. The text in on layer 0 which is on, and is unlocked and unfrozen. Additionally I have turned on, unlocked and unfroze all layers in the dwg and this does not work. I have also checked the text layer in the block editor and it is on layer 0.
When I click on any of the blocks, all the information appears to be correct, ie: door numbers, text style, etc. The text, however, just does not appear. Also I have never set any invisible text parameters and when I open the block editor, nothing in the invisible text area is selected or select-able.
Previous versions of this drawing, which I saved yesterday, display all block text perfectly. Perhaps there is a setting I accidentally hit which caused this problem?
I have tried repeatedly turning on all the layers, unfreezing, unlocking, changing parameters in the Style menu. I closed Autocad and turned the computer completely off and back on again.
I have a drawing with several dynamic blocks (over 1000 block references) with visibility states. I recently noticed that all of the blocks no longer have the option to change the visibility state (i.e. the upside down blue triangle no longer appears when clicking on the block).
If I insert a new block it comes in with the option to change the visibility state. However, the previously placed blocks still do not have the option of changing the visibilty state. Even if I update the definition of all block references in my drawing nothing changes with the previously placed blocks.
Is there an option/command to bring back the option of changing visibility states on my previously placed blocks?
I want to create some symbols which includes text. For example, I have a square with an "F" centered within the square. The problem I am having is when I insert the block into a drawing and rotate it, the "F" also rotates. Is there any way to make it so the "F" is always horizontal no matter how I rotate the block?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create some 3D text where the front (facing towards the user) side of the text has a gradient applied to it. I've tried applying the gradient before extruding it but as soon as you make it 3D the gradient dissapears. And there doesn't seem any options to apply a gradient in the inflation material layer. I'm sure this is possible though

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm building a site with WordPress and installed a plugin that will create a slider of images on the front page. For each image, there is specific text that goes with the image (just a simple quote). If it's possible to use Gimp to add text to the side of an image and not actually on the image?
Here's a link to the front page of the site that I'm attempting to add the text to. Currently, the photos are there and you will see the blank space next to the images. This blank space is where I would like to add the text. I've contacted the creator of the plugin and there is no way of doing this from within the plugin, itself.
