View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been capturing data for measured building surveys with a Leica total station (TS06). When I upload the data into autocad i can see the node points (+) and text in the top view. When switch to look at the points from the front view (to produce an elevation), the text and points appear as a flat line, although the insertion point of the node/text is still correct. I need to find a way of rotating the text and points so they are visible in this view. I will then flatten the points and cut them to the top view to produce a 2d elevation.

In the past, if I needed to increase a polyline's length I would grap a grip and give it a pull, watching the dynamic input (I think) box for the length that the polyline was changing to. One day, I "noticed" that if I grabbed the grip, extended it past the original location, and then typed in what I wanted to add to the length of the polyline and hit "Enter", it would extend the line that amount. In new drawings that I have started since then, I cannot do this. Now, if I draw a 4" polyline, then grab the right hand grip, extend it a bit past the original point and type in 1, it shortens the line to 1" as opposed to extending it to a new length of 5". What switch I have thrown or may throw to retrieve this capability?

A 3D polyline having two nodes at 0,0,0 and 10,0,0 has length of 10.
If I move the second nodes to 10,0,1000 the length is still 10.
Is that the projection in xy-plan?
I need to create an animation sequence in Photoshop cs6 longer than 5 seconds. In previous versions the length of each video layer could be extended easily. Now it appears you need to make each video layer a maximum of 5 seconds. Document settings doesn't resolve this problem. I've found out how to extend the timeline but, crucially, not the length of individual video layers beyond 5 seconds. I believe CS5 and previous versions had this enabled.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using AutoCAD Mechanical 2010 and received a .DXF file that contains 'solid' objects. Unfortunately the next tool in my workflow doesn't understand 'solids' only polylines (and a few other basic shapes like circles, lines, etc). Is there some way to convert the object in AutoCAD?
I tried the 'boundary' command but when it asks to 'Pick Points' and I click inside the solid, it always gives the error 'Valid hatch boundary not found'.
What am I missing here?
I am making up some furniture blocks with codes in. When I mirror those blocks the text goes back to front.

I have a 1/4" thick panel, 24"x12". I'm trying to apply text to the front of this solid, then engrave the letters through the 1/4" panel. If I right-click to customize the ribbon, I can select the text button, but it is grayed out. This seems like such a simple task, I'm wondering why I'm struggling with it.
I am just getting started with ACA 2010 and am impressed at what it can do. However, I am trying to change the material for 1 wall or 1 slab. When I try, it changes the material for all walls or slabs. I have read something about a propagate option on the materials menu, but I can't find it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to finally utilize iLogic and all of its functionality (after using the basic features of inventor for the past 3 or so years) and I was wondering if there was a way to use iLogic (or some other feature for inventor) to resize text in a title block field of an IDW based on the length of the text entered (i.e. if the part's name was "Cam Retainer" the text height would be .12, but if its part name was "Spacer Cam Retainer Bushing" the text height would shrink down to .085 or something) so that it would still fit nicely into the text block?

I managed to get this part right, that was the easy part.....
However when i went to put any Dimension or even Text on the drawing it was Backwards and Upside Down.

Is there a way to export multiple layout tabs to create individual CAD files at one time? I have a CAD file with 80 layout tabs. All the Drafting work was done on Paper Space of the Layout Tabs. Client wants 80 separate CAD files.
I tried right clicking on the layout tab but it will ONLY allow me to export one tab at a time.
Gave a set of schematics to a client and they decided they wanted all the wire numbers rotating 90 degrees... In the interest of efficiency, any way I can rotate all the pieces of text at the same time whilst maintaining their individual position rather than selecting a base rotation point (as I have about 400 wire numbers to make my way through ).

View 9 Replies View RelatedRound off of the value (length) of an inserted field, I wanted to make a round off for the field value that represents the length of a line but sounds that there is no option to do so.
For example:
the 2568 will be rounded off to be 2570
the 2563 will be rounded off to be 2565
This option is available for the dimension objects and wondering why it not offered for the inserted fields.

On AutoCad at school, when drawing a line, there is a light blue dialogue box that would pop up above the cursor telling you the length of the line before you set it. (not the coordinates).
This is not showing up on the educational version of AutoCad I am running at home.
