The "extension" line on my "autotracker" has gone from being in front of my tool tip (where I'm headed) to following my tip (where I've been)
View 5 RepliesI am having an issue with my dimensions. If I have a dimension that is 1'-3" or larger, my extension line beyond my dimension line extends the normal length, but as soon as my dimension goes under 1'-3", the extension line then gets twice as long outside of the dimension line (see attachment). I have researched...and i can't seem to find a dim variable that will let me change this. is there anything to control this happening once my dimension goes below 1'-3"?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Autocad 2011 and trying to convert a 2D drawing into 3D using a Loft tool. However, I'm experiencing a bit of a problem. The Loft tool is creating an extra line between the two objects which messes up part of the design. I'm usind Solid and Ruled settings of the Loft tool and the two object I'm trying to join were created out of number of polylines which then were converted into singular poline using Edit Polyline tool.

We are working on a road widening scheme where one edge of the road is retained as far as possible while other edge being widened. I like to design a retained channel line by extending the cross fall between the existing center line and the exiting channel line on to the design one.
It is possible in civil 3d to extend the gradient between two feature lines at some offset from reference feature line?
When I use the extend command, only the selected line segment extending to the current line segment but can not be extended to the extension of his line, where is the setting not right? Another computer I will be able to extend the line to the extension part.

When you make a diameter or radius dimension it always has this static extension line shown in red when you move the dimension far enough away. I can not seem to extend this extension line at all it is always the same length no matter what variable I change. How to lengthen this extension line?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I (or is it not possible) to have a line start in front but end up behind. Example, a thick line (that will look like a tube when done, i hope lol) starts out in the front.... travels off the side of the object then goes behind it.
essentially starts as the topmost(front) object, but ends as the bottom most (back) object.
It's 2012. I haven't found a setting in the dim style or the RMB options to turn off the extension line. I saw the posts showing drawing a sketch in the view but come on, all that to just turn off the line?

I have been capturing data for measured building surveys with a Leica total station (TS06). When I upload the data into autocad i can see the node points (+) and text in the top view. When switch to look at the points from the front view (to produce an elevation), the text and points appear as a flat line, although the insertion point of the node/text is still correct. I need to find a way of rotating the text and points so they are visible in this view. I will then flatten the points and cut them to the top view to produce a 2d elevation.
we had a toolbar with a button to perform this function. However, now i don't have the toolbar,
how to create a 'front' line for a map such as the one attached? Other than taking individual arrowheads and rotating them, I mean.

When I create a radius dimension on the inside of an arc, and I place the dimension beyond the center point of the arc, AutoCAD automatically draws an extension to the arc and points my radius dimension leader to the outside of this extension, rather than to the inside of the original arc.
I don't really like this. I prefer for my demension leader to point to the inside of the original arc. I can get exactly what I want by going into "Properties" for the radius dimension and turning the "Ext Line" property off.
Rather than having to do this every time, I'd like to create a dimension style that would give me this functionality all of the time. When I try to modify my dimension style, I see that there are just two parameters for Suppress Ext Line 1 and Suppress Ext Line 2. These seem to apply to both linear dimensions and radial dimensions. Is there anything I can do to suppress the extension line for radial dimensions only and not linear dimensions?
Is there any way to create an action or keyboard shortcut to set the Crop tool to the front window size in Photoshop CS6? I find that I use that several times a day. I got used to it being the top choice in the Crop tool presets menu.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are creating a new company title block for the use in Inventor 2010 and AutoCAd 2010. It has initially been generated in Inventor and exported to AutoCAD. My problem is that all attributes that came over are now setup as multiline attributes and I can't seem to change them to single line. Therefore you have to open the multiline editor separately for every single item to make changes in lieu of just 'tabbing' through the values in the Enhanced Attribute Editor. This adds time and frustration and seems to be intolerable for some of my colleagues.
Is there a way to change the attributes to a single line in AutoCAD I'm just not aware of? I tried to find different settings for the export from Inventor but the options seem to be very limited.
I could probably go over this and create separate AutoCad only titleblock and border but that would kind of defeat the purpose.
I created some new custom line types using express tool featute in autocad and I saved it with a .lin extension. It is only available in that drawing itself. How I canget those line type in all my new drawings.
I tired to edit the default linetype file even it doesnot appear in the linetype manger windo.

I'm learning how to create extension (flex - extension builder) for Illustrator and how to make it communicate with a plugin.
The samples provided in the SDK detailed how to load /unload extension from a menu item from Illustrator, and how to add / remove EventListeners to make the magic happen.
to sum up, this is something like that:
1- click on the menu item
2- load extension
3- add listeners
4- do your stuff......
5- remove listeners
6- unload extension
Basically my plugin is a module/service which is in charge of dealing with / modifying artwork tree. It has no User Interface.
My extension will have a user of this service.
What I would like to do is to load my extension as soon as my plugin is loaded, and unload the extension when the plugin will be unloaded.
Or notify when extension is loaded or unloaded.
Is that possible and hw could I achieve that?
I've just installed Extension Manager Update 6.0.5.9 yesterday and today I've get a wired problem with my bambo tablet.I've used this tablet for 3-4 years without problem. The problem I've now is when I drag lasso tool on an image to make selection it doesn't make a selection even it is showed in the history state that I've used lasso,or magnetic lasso.
My machine is a Mac Pro 2010,Quad-Core Intel Xeon running on Lion 10.7.5 and my bamboo driver is the latest version 5.3.2-2. Even now I've change to use freeform path I've still cannot change form path to selection.
I'm using Inventor 2011 and I can't figure out how to set my dimension settings so it breaks the dimension extension lines automatically when crossing over other dimension extension lines. I saw that others say it just happens, but it is not "just happening" for me. how to set my dimensions so when dimension lines cross each other one of them automatically breaks?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIm trying to show some measurements in layout view. But when i dimension between 2 points i get the number 71,84. When i use the measure tool in model view i get 1150mm which is the correct length.
Sure there is some simple reason why the two arnt coming in with the same value. Also it isnt an issue with Units as i have checked both and they are both in millimetres.
I should be able to apply an effect to a line that has been made with the line tool. Why is this not working?I thought that maybe I might have disabled Effects somehow, but I can't think of anything.

The line tool can change a line to dashes but this is a bit too uniform for hand stitching.
